@@NemmTV thank you and as a kid growing up on a large ranch/farm I made a $hit ton of money…especially during the summer. Moving sprinkler pipe (the pipe sections were 40’ long with a 3’ riser in the center…32.5 pieces of pipe made a line…each line was 1/4 mile long and the diameters were either 3” or 4”) I would on average move 25 lines per day @ $3.50/line. I had my own checking account at 12 y.o. and until I bought my first car at 15 I mostly spent my $$$ on records, cassettes, bongs and other paraphernalia from the only local head shop. When I bought first car (the Dodge Dart Swinger) I had thousands saved. We had our own shop for working on combines, swathers, harrowbeds, tractors, etc., and with the mechanics working for us, I learned throughout my teen years pretty much about everything mechanical. For some reason back in the mid - late 70’s muscle cars were cheap to buy. All three Mopars I owned from high school into college. Joined the Navy and accumulated cash (although I made more money as a kid moving pipe than I did at 22 in the Navy) bought the GTI while in the Navy. Switched to Army and bought the IROC-Z and an 81 Corvette (was on leave and was in a car that was slammed at 50 mph by a drunk driver…made a bunch of money. Bought my German wife a 1970 Super Beetle (restored myself on post) and put in a killer tricked out crate motor…like over 2200cc and big carbs. Retired from the Army and bought/ordered a new 2002 Corvette Z06. Been Jeep Trailhawk Grand Cherokees since. My point about my Mopars is: all my friends worked in town bagging groceries, etc., and none made any decent cash…except the kids whose parents owned businesses. Bad thing is that now, in my early 60’s, after being Airborne and all the heavy lifting as a kid (sprinkler pipe, Freeman 3-string hay bales and later on tons of heavy lifting in the Army. Of life’s regrets, I wish I would have had the foresight to keep all of my cars. Never needed money but, it would have been a real pain in the @ss moving them. I did always store my current vehicles when I was stationed overseas or deployed.

Should be at least 2 laps and outside lane 1 car advantage to give the outside chance

Those that trade paint should be banned. No one with a decent car will race if you allow it.

@@FrankBullitt390 Z06 Corvette pushed into the wall. Totaled. Owner does not care. What was it? A theft recovery? You must be watching something else. And you have a point. As long as they allow demolition derby driving then you will not get any decent cars or decent driving for street drags. In other words, if you are in charge, they will lose money and the drags will come to an end.
@FrankBullitt390 Жыл бұрын
@@grabir01 I wasnt talking about the Z06, I was talking about the cars out there racing, all of them have scuffs and dents from this style of racing, and yes, getting plowed into the wall is a risk you take. I would never take a newer corvette (or anything) out there. I'd build a beater on 4 slicks like those G bodies or a worthless 2.8L F-body and hack it into a car that would do good at this

Who designed this race? The starting line should be staggered so that the outside lane has a chance.

Inside starters have clear advantage. They can bully outside for their race lines.
@tylerjones4482 ай бұрын
its probably a slight advantage but the outside guys almost never do what they should be doing. the disadvantage of being on the inside is that you are apexing earlier and therefor you have to get on the gas later the outside should be lining up as wide as possible, apex late and get on the gas much before the inside line driver, and then out brkke them on the inside into the next corner.

Let's race around the barn and see who wins. I get inside lane.
@chewy98ta282 ай бұрын
I counted 28 wins for the inside lane and 20 for the outside lane but I'm probably off by one. Don't know who won the tie and my attention span isn't top notch. Don't think I'll be taking my low miles SRT8 Challenger to this with what happened to the Corvette and them playing bumper cars in the final.

Gotta have more than one lap or the inside lane will always have an advantage unless outside lane has more torque to beat inside lane off the line.
