I did the degreaser and water in a pan method for my power valve and cylinder head. Now it’s a different color! It’s a bronze ish brown color. I used greased lighting and made it half and half

Great video, I put degreaser in an old crock pot and let it heat up. Works really well for cleaning smaller parts.

Hi Cameron, I own a classic 75 Suzuki TS250, Amongst owners it is common practise to build a fire in the garden, and place the exhaust on a really good hot fire, or you can use a welding torch and set fire to the carbon inside of the exhaust, You want to see those things burn, it,s like a jet engine, You know when all the carbon has been removed, the flame just goes out, Then a quick clean and repaint, then reinstall on bike, Done it many times. Luckily I do not have nabours , But what a difference it makes to the bike, May be ,some might think this a bit drastic, But this method does remove 100% of the carbon that has built up over the years. Try it Mate.

Thumbs up for simple green, they have special green for aluminum but I've used regular on carb bodies for years and never had a problem. Probably works out to a dollar or so per application. Skip the other stuff and go for green.

Cameron, love your videos. One question though. I'm restoring an 07 KX250F and followed your instructions and bought some Eagle One MAG cleaner. My question to you is, on the label it specifically says, " DO NOT use on aluminum. Did I buy the wrong stuff? Or do you just use it anyway? Thanks!

Hi Cameron, can you please try cleaning those small parts in an ultrasonic bath? Use mag wheel cleaner with aluminium parts and hot water with degreaser on the steel parts.. just a wild guess here, but im sure an ultrasonic cleaner can do better and its far less work for yourself

based on some of my experience with cars how carbon wont stick to a mirror polished cylinder head as easily, maybe if you polished the inside of these covers and parts?
@therawlifefamily5 жыл бұрын
Need to get a new powervalve. Once that coating wears off they tend to stick and if they aren't sticking, they wear out way faster and develop some serious grooving that makes them stick even more.

Hey Cam. Got a jetting question. I think I heard you talk about this issue before. 2017 yz250, yes 2 stroke. The idle seems high after doing hill climbs, or really working the engine. When I get to the top of the hill I throw it in neutral while waiting for others. I noticed the engine revs staying high and slowly dropping. I have backed out the idle screw multiple times. Second symptom which I thought might mean it's rich is that it can be hard to start when cold. I have had to bump start it twice in the past year. That's more times than i have had to bump start my bikes in 20 years. Air screw is 1.25 turns out. Forget what the pilot and main are but i do recall lowering the pilot awhile back to try things out. Any tips?
