Hi Cam Just a tip on removing the dowels. Shove the tip of a drift or bolt or even a small socket that fits inside the dowel neatly so when you grab it with the grips it doesn't squash and you can also get a much better grip on it to remove them.

What I do to clean all my parts is a good long vapor blast first and then if there is any remaining dirt staining or pitting or just a bad finish in general throw it in the sand blaster and that will remove anything but it doesn't leave as nice a finish so I go back to the vapor blaster and it leaves a nicer shinier finish that looks good every time. Some times parts will be so horribly scratched and pitted I don't even bother with the vapor blaster and just go straight to sand and finish with the vapor blaster and it makes everything look brand new.

Hi Cameron, i know you have an ultrasonic cleaner there, but maybe you dont use it because its too small? But my wild idea is, how about you test clean a small aluminium cover in the ultrasonic cleaner.... Using mag wheel cleaner as the medium? I would really love to see this, and if it works, maybe consider getting a larger ulrasonic cleaner
