Have heard that area right there is a good spot for small mouth. One of the few good smallmouth spots on the main lake. Never targeted them in the lake, just creeks.

This might be a weird question, but does it make you nervous to be around the inlet for the spillway? I didn't know if there is any suction that makes a whirlpool or anything.

There is a whirlpool but it's never super bad and only sucks like small stuff down. And that only happens when they are really pulling the lake.

I agree. Everyday I use them in the most tame and normal of circumstances. Its just second nature now.
