Yes I am running an I9 too but it is the 3080. do NOT skimp and get a 3070 if you have a 1080 ti. I know I know. $$$. But for me, I can't walk more than a few feet. Ohh and I blame you for me loving the Anchor now. Adv Laser sight and silencer on My Engi. With sensor shield. I love it. soooooo much. Gauss saw is taking more time to learn, Adv grip and comp and I can hit stuff at 40m. I prefer Laser sight and silencer, just takes more learning to hit stuff at 30-40m with that set up. I DO run the HiV Ammo option. That a bad thing?

I do agree with the "aim at head" mantra, on average. However with caveat. The gauss saw initial kick is soo significant, I aim at the throat, the kick puts the crosshairs on the head. This is weapon specific though. All my Ar's and other Lmg's I aim at head initially.

You know how you could sometimes spot more errors watching someone else's gameplay? Well you can do it to yourself too - just record yourself playing and watch it back. You may see some patterns or common mistakes, and it's way easier to notice when you're not in the heat of battle!
@CAMIKAZE782 жыл бұрын
Exactly; recording gameplay isn't just for public viewing, it can be great as well for personal reflection. Hard to reflect in the moment, but come back later with a fresh view and it can be a HUGE eye opener.

As a person that watched as my own outfit went from mediocre on an individual level to above average I can tell you the impact that we have on a fight is shocking to say the least, and even beyond that watching groups even better than us take on 70-30 pop differentiation with ease, even more so. Individual skill plus practiced team play is a magical thing to see. It can make a hard fight seem easy, and it can fall apart in a second if someone flexes out of position and gets themselves killed at the wrong moment…

For target priority I want to add "if you start shooting somebody, finish them before changing target". Switching targets to someone who started shooting me was one of my main causes of death because the guy I shot but didn't kill then turns around and causes a 2v1. What you should do is kill the first guy then run from the second.

a few days ago me an 7 other randoms were slowly losing a base to 1 person. yep, 1 person taking a base from 8 people. (it had 3 capture points too. I have no idea how he did that) I watched what he did, how he moved where he attacked from. every single time I died I analyzed what he did to kill me after one day of practicing what I saw, I was good at SMG infiltrator play, and nearly took a (one capture point) base from 4 other people on my own. ive improved at fighting others playing that way too. dont just watch your better allies, watch your better enemies too

Mindset is also very important. One should be treating the game with the goal of improvement, to win in the future, not to win in the now. Stay analytical and don't get frustrated. A frustrated player makes worse decisions and also doesn't learn as quickly.

Honestly, i still can't help but get frustrated when multiple A2G players show up and the rest of your teammates refuse to actually fight them off. I love this game, but there is nothing that frustrates more than being farmed by a Banshee/Airhammer main because of their TTK and then ability to just outrun any missiles shot after them.

As for headshots, when you get your first shots off in the head, the opponent receives a large amount of flinching which helps ruin their initial aim against you.

One other thing I think that needs to be mentioned is if you want to get better you have to get out of your comfort zone. Holding down a choke point with an underbarrel grenade launcher might be effective and lead to some epic holds and great KDRs. (My personal best is a session going 223 and 1) but it causes you to crutch on a particular style and hurts you in the long run. Do what you are uncomfortable with and build your skillset. Also it will make you better where you are comfortable too.
@soldierhobbes11822 жыл бұрын
One thing concerning sensitivity that might help some people is making your aimed sens higher than your normal sens. The goal being to make it so when you ADS your camera turns just as much as it would when simply hipfiring. Making the turn rates match might help some folks who feel like ADS is wonky like I did for the longest time.

As a long time zergfit player who has recently been working on improving my infantry game, I really enjoyed this video. You hit all the major points I've been attempting to learn over the past six months. The one thing I would add for players who are looking to improve their game is to ask for help. If you keep getting one framed by the same dude over and over, instead of sending a rage tell see if he'd be down to explain what he's doing. The number of highly skilled and knowledgeable players in the community who are willing to take the time to teach people the game is really impressive. I am not a great player by any means, and I have a long way to go before I finally "git gud", but I would be much worse off if it weren't for the coaching and advice I've received. Great video Cami!

FOV is something I didn't cover in the video because it is entirely down to user preference. I frankly, choose an FOV that in the competitive community, is strange to see. I know that. It would be a little strange of me to say which is the best when it really does come down to personal preference.

I dare say Planetside 2 is like surfing. You're gonna get the most out of it if you ride the wave just right. You need to position yourself where your playstyle is supported best, and always tag along with the zerg, or slightly in front or behind it. Some players are geared for low intensity fights which is fine, but I personally believe planetside is boring if you arent part of a big force. Youll definitely get the most XP out of it. And kills are actually not more important than objectives. You can probably be a great planetside player without actually killing a single enemy. That actually sounds like a fun challenge for support classes!
@HateMachinist2 жыл бұрын
Best two tips: 1: The bloom function you get from spraying also applies when you aim down sights. If you sprint, start spraying and THEN aim down your sights, your bloom is maxed and you will miss everything. 2: 60% population is the "pain-limit". Once the enemy is at 60% pop, the amount of guns aiming after you become excessive and odds are you should look for a better fight.
@Direblade112 жыл бұрын
I will say, yesterday I was shooting way better than usual. Firstly, I actually managed to finish a bunch of infantry quests for once. "Aim for body shots and let the recoil kick up into the head." Like a lot of things, you can blame WREL for that advice, since he used to say it a lot in his old weapon review videos.
@nttea2 жыл бұрын
okay so the reason why this isn't terrible advice is because of the thing called first shot recoil multiplier, essentially your first shot in a burst causes more recoil than the following shots. If you want to be as sweaty as possible you want all your shots on the head but having your first shot go to the body will NOT double your TTK.

Great video i know it's an old one but slowly making my way through your Planetside 2 videos. I would say one person can definitely make a big difference to a fight in some situations last weekend i was in an armour convoy and i fell behind and as i was catching up it came under attack by multiple air units as i got there half the vehicles had blown up as soon as I began to open fire the air units began to drop or run the reason i was the only player to pull some AA a skyguard which saved the rest of the convoy. Also on many occasions in an armour convoy I tend to be the only ammo sundie so yeah well it is not the norm one person seeing and filling a gap/weakness can make a difference.

Another good tip, if you end up in a death streak in the game don't be discouraged. Death Streaks are apart of the learning experience, but it could lower new players morale of playing the game. One engineer and a max suit can take on 5 people and take an outpost on their own. The reason the 5 people don't win is because they end up attacking one after the other, giving the max a single easy target, then as each defende respawns, that error comes back to bite them. They'll HAVE to either wait and lost time on the point to regroup, or rush out as a single unit and repeat the death cycle.

When it comes to aiming the biggest tip I can give is using your arm as opposed to your wrist. And for adjusting sensitivity I would say go as low as you feel comfortable while still being able to do nearly a full turn without lifting your mouse within the confines of your mouse pad. There is no shame in high sense! But low sensitivity allows for smoother more accurate movements imo
@CAMIKAZE782 жыл бұрын
Something I have heard echoed quite a lot over the years, and is something worth looking for into for better control. My setup sees me using a sort of hybrid between wrist and arm movements, but I'm still working on improving my sens as time goes on.

On a Ryzen 5900x and RTX3060Ti I used to run Overall Quality on Low and Graphics Quality on Low as well. But, after increasing Graphics Quality to High while keeping Overall Quality at Low I've gained tens of FPS in very large battles. In 96+ battles I used to dip even into 50-60 fps at times with everything on Low, now I rarely get below 100 in equivalent fights, in 48+ battles I'm way above that. And the game feels much more responsive. Quite the opposite of what many are saying. The one major drawback for me is all the added graphics can lower visibility, thankfully I still see Infils. Muzzle flashes for some weapons are now blinding at night and I need a Flash Suppressor, while on Low Low I can't remember that ever being a problem. I should say I've made some custom changes to my UserOptions, don't know how much of a factor that is. The Particles still allow me to track but they're not intrusive. Draw distance is very low except for aircraft. I'm guessing I moved load to the graphic card, and that on Low Low the CPU was "maxed out" (as far as the PS2 engine is concerned...) handling so much, hence the huge difference in FPS and I suspect also frame times, which is at least equally important for aiming. So these general tips and tricks are in relation to hardware.

Is K/D really that important aside from fun? For me game is enjoyable even with K/D below 1 (I know there are weird shenanigans with medics' revives) + IMO K/D can get significantly lower in "corridor warfare" (everyone throws grenades everywhere, grenade printers go "VRRRT!", bullets are flying everywhere and it's pure chaos... although enjoyable one ) What's your approach to K/D specificaly in PS2?

You may have missed a reason to use lower graphics settings, though to be fair its a little less known issue with PS2. The actual fire rate of you gun gets reduced in game if you have less frames, the drop off starts at 200 fps, which is unfortunate since most players will never be able to hit those numbers, I can't even get past 144 with my Ryzen 1800x and 1080ti. But that is the main reason why most people feel they can't even compete even though they shoot first at someone hitting headshots but still lose just because their gun actually doesn't have the DPS advertised in the stats.

I can't even fit a tiny mouspad into that space. It is so goddamn hard to play like that, DPI is too high to aim well, if I go any lower I need more than 5 swishes for an 180° turn... But I got used to it and could not really work with more space now I guess. never used my whole arm, all movement comes from the joint at my hand. I have no muscle memory and would have to start at 0 again. not sure if that is worth the time

GREAT guide Cami....! Besides settings in game, I can tell you that getting your RAM to run at the fastest possible stable speed will make the single most improvement on older systems. I'm running an i5-6600K (3.5ghz), and a GTX-970 and I stay right around 60fps (@1080p) except in the largest of fights. I never drop below 40fps. My system RAM was running at 2133mhz, and it was struggling in large fights. Once I replaced it with some OC'able sticks, I ended up with 2933mhz stable. I also have my CPU OC'd to 4.2ghz. No OC on the GPU, but I have an aggressive fan profile using MSI Afterburner to keep it cool. TLDR: The two biggest hits to PS2 performance at the hardware level are System Memory Speed and Heat. CPU speed is third, and the GPU is fourth.

is there any advice on how to play with high ping and server latency? with a ping value and a delay of up to 130, it is still possible to play somehow, but it is already impossible to play over 130. I can't kill anyone, but everyone beats me). you have a ping of 160 on the video and a server delay of 190, but this does not affect the gameplay at all. what's the secret?

im currently working on making a negative 180. been playing MMORPGs and my fps skills have taken a nose dive.

I wonder if this has been fixed... but a few years ago it was kind of common knowledge to keep graphics quality at least on high to see the cloaked people. Is that still the case?

Im using an i3 8145u to play planetside which somehow works and I get around 15-30 fps with all low. Is it worth turning up texture quality or will it just make it worse since im using integrated graphics?

uhhh, it aint to much of a problem, if I run with 6500 dpi at 0.200 sensitivity, right? ... right?
@liveer642 жыл бұрын
Your sensivity high? You haven't see mine as its all maxed out to the highest lol. I do good with extreme sensivity because of my play style. I'm a cqc heavy so aiming for the head as fast as possible is vital as your targets could popup no where. So what I'm thinking is lower sensivity= good long range and high sensivity=good close range. That's how I take for how sensivity should be use. P.s. this is an opinion of a PS4 player. May not work effectly on pc.

4:46 lol what's a 180 degree turn. My dpi and sensitivity are so low I can only turn from just beyond my left peripheral to my right peripheral. If I tried to turn around and look behind me, my mouse would be hanging off my mousepad and I have a 2 foot pad.

You should be able to jump while running, whip a crazy ivan to check your 6, and whip back to facing front before landing.

The hardest part as a new player is being able to kill people. It’s almost as if I don’t do enough damage. If I shoot at someone I could hit every shot and I’ll only take out their shield, they’ll kill me with ease. Like, to prove my point I’ve played the game for only 4 hours and I have 16 kills but 240+ deaths. Unless I hit someone with an rpg to the face I feel I can’t kill people

That's rough! No doubt it's frustrating. Remember the bloom: The longer you shoot, the more inaccurate you become. Jumping, sliding and falling also make you very inaccurate. If you sprint into battle and start shooting your bloom will be massive, but if you take a split second to walk / aim you'll be much more accurate. Headshots are important, but I generally aim for the neck area, that's works for me. Burst fire- don't hold the button for 10 seconds. Shoot a 4-7 bullets, wait a bit, repeat. Depends on the range and weapon too. I also recommend looking for good fights: running into a tank line as an infantryman just won't work out. Long range battles full of verhicles and no cover is not the best place to be as infantry. You wanna be fighting in/around buildings. 12-24 or 24-48 playercount on both sides are good fights. Make sure it's close to 50%- joining a battle where you're 20% against 80% won't be much fun. Pick a class and play it 'the right way': Light assault uses the jetpack to get on buildings and sneaky spots to ambush people, Infiltrator uses cloak to get to an ambush position, Heavy Assault runs in face first and use their shield to survive long enough to get a kill. Medic is average but can heal and revive people, Engineer is average too but can repair verhicles. Never go for a fair fight, always make sure you have cover or the element of surprise. When you die really quickly, it's because of the netcode. On your screen you died in like 0.2 seconds, but on their screen they shot you for 2 full seconds. Planetside 2 is really hard but once you start to get it, it's amazingly fun. But don't torture yourself, if you can't figure it out, that's ok. It's not for everyone despite my love for it. It's unforgiving.

@@CAMIKAZE78 probably, but that doesnt change fact - cloacked inf much harder to detect on low settings
