I love messing with snipers. Normally when a sniper sees a mana they think "free kill" with me I just rotate the mana so they just barely cannot shoot me because the shield cannot be destroyed by gunfire. Naturally once they see me they decide they will shoot at me until I die so I am keeping them from aiming at my teammates simply by existing and occasionally taking potshots in their general direction.

Thank the Squad/Platoon Leaders for leading you into the battle, especially when they're using their mic. 7. Thank the Mentor who help you in this harsh game, same with mic. 8. Tip #31: Don’t get mad. One major thing that happens to everyone in our favorite planetmans game is that the majority of players will eventually get mad at some point. When this happens, your focus and overall performance can decrease. Therefore you should learn to take breaks, especially when you start getting frustrated. I’ve learned from experience that computer mice and keyboards don’t work too well when getting bashed on a desk constantly.

1. Watch Grenade Icons. Great to throw into a base you're attempting to capture for easy kills. 2. Stay away from doors and windows when capping a base. People like to throw C4 through them. 3. If pop is not on your side, it is recommended to stay on point to survive as going out you may be gunned down. 4. Friendly Max's - Rubber band yourself to the cover you're using to gun down enemy units. As a reminder there's most likely a engi who can't help you if you stretch too far. - Also beware of how long your engi has been repairing you as their Tool Gun can overheat and needs to recharge. 5. H Key expands your mini map if you wish to see more or being more aware of the battlefield. - Armor - Watch your unit patterns as Light Assaults that carry C4 could sneak around and get you. - Armor - Listen to the sound of enemy gunfire from another vehicle is crucial as you may save yourself from a harasser hitting your rear. 6. Armor - The weakest point of your or the enemy armor will always be the rear, so be sneaky and if you have to escape from being killed. Depending on the situation, backing up is better than attempting to turn around. [Following point is my theories or recollection of long ago info] - If you see grey metal plates on an armor, it's a C4 resistant. If you need to do the full damage it would do, they would have to be placed on their rear. - NC Main Battle Tank, the Vanguard is a shield ability, when it's activated you'll see a blue cover on it. I was told you can aim for the turret or rear as they'll be exposed if there's no blue lining of course. 7. Some bases have no vehicle logic/physics - Most bases are set so vehicles can't get in. Some however find a crack in the wall so look out for harassers running you over as well as on the field. 8. "Graphics Settings" is the setting that determines how well you can see a cloak infiltrator. (Beware: Lowest settings means you can't see them at all.) 9. If you're an Emerald (East Server) gamer, watch out for belmonkey. That is all.

Big tip: want to get kills as a new player? go NC heavy with SAW, it will kill anyone easy Is puting yourself in danger too hard? lobotomize yourself and use the phoenix from spawn room to steal kills from allied tanks without ever giving your enemies the chance to shoot you. Want to play with vehicles? the vanguard has an ability that lets you press F to instantly win any tank fight, and it straight up has more health and dammage than any other main battle tank. Is fighting on equal ground too hard? go NC MAX, it has the same killing potential as other maxes from afar but is even deadlier up close, in trouble? press F to activate the only MAX ability in the game that actualy helps you instead of making you more vunerable. But don't say that NC is overpowered and that the devs have an NC bias because a zerg of NC's will find you and lynch you for your opinion.

This is a FPS + MMO + RTS type game and as such it attracts different types of players with different types of experience from each of those genres. Having played all three I can tell you that there are cultural differences between those games and Planetside that have little to do with the hard rules of the game. For example, if you're coming from an MMORPG like WoW, DDO, etc... and you're avoiding the Medic because "everyone blames the healer", don't worry about it. The medic class is a very different experience in Planetside (speaking as a former healer in both those games). If you're coming from a FPS like COD, spawn camping *is* allowed in Planetside 2. It's not going to get you kicked, but also don't rage quit when a sniper OHK's you as you run out of the spawn room. (I can already hear people typing their comments about that point and I haven't even posted yet, LOL). If you're coming from a RTS style game like Starcraft 2 you'll probably want to join a large outfit and play with them. Work your way up to lead a squad and then become a platoon leader where you'll be able call the play and implement larger scale strategies for 60+ players directly and your entire faction indirectly. Heads up though, playing squad leader can be an awful lot like playing a healer in an MMO with units that are stuck on 'very easy'. (I'm gonna burn for that joke! LOL).

Honestly don't play LA or HA if you have low framerate since you will get crushed. Play a pocket class like engie, medic, or just pull a sundy or something. High framerate is a must for winning engagements regardless of what anyone says since the person with 60 frames will always land their shots better than the person they are fighting who has 15-25 frames. Why? Because of aim twitch, strafing, and recoil patterns.

Generally i agree with all the points, however i think some tips need some more info to them: 1. factions: well yes but kinda no... the weapons are generally balanced. Far more important are 2 factors: 1. how the factions are performing on their servers. for example, on all servers combined, TR wins most alerts, but on cobalt VS wins most of the times, with balanced populations. 2. outfits(clans) and platoonleads: if they work together and organize better then those from the other factions, skilled gunplay etc. will not matter (or less). Play some time on one server and see if you can find an outfit you like. 2. always check yourself for fights with balanced populations. 3. This is probably the most crucial part of the game. Tactics and organization. There are typically 4 types of platoons/squad: 1. the ghost platoon. the leader has no mic and generally no interest/competence in leading. He wont speak and probably sit in a tank or camp on some hill. Often no outfit tag. 2. the zerg platoon. some very basic level of organization, huge in numbers, players of all levels. Some fun but often mindless horde 3. actual platoons. many guys with the same outfit tags (often discord or teamspeak), and the leaders give orders all the time via voice chat. not always open, experienced players. 4. private squads. small numbers, only clanmembers. sometimes a bunch of tryhards/elites with godlike aim capable of shredding entire squads. only way to defeat those is more pop. 13/14. Weapons: dont buy anything unless you have mastered the standards (at least gold medal). If you are bad with the standards your problem is probably elsewhere. The first certs should be used on the basic upgrades like engi tool. 16. HUD/supporter: yes but move carefully. i've seen noobs running cross the battlefield with medic applicator in their hand instead of a gun. "Situational awareness"... 28. we usually say backcap for when we are advancing to the next base but did not yet capture the cap point, so the enemy managed to get the cap point of his lost base back, which prevents us from capping the next base. Aside from that i think some other aspects are maybe even more essential to the game: -the genre: It is a combined arms, sandbox/openworld, first person shooter, mmo game with rpg elements. It makes the game unique, but compared to other mmo i think it is still somewhat casual. -situational awareness: it is not like any classic fps where the maps are closed, enemies can come from anywhere. That is especially true with snipers... always pay attention to your surrounding, campers are everywhere. -Farm: ps2 is a MEATGRINDER FOR NOOBS. It offers quite a lot of cheesy farming methods, and playing with people of all levels isnt making it easier. At the first 40 levels you might not see a positive k/d very often. Ways to prevent getting farmed: situational awareness, learn fps skill (crosshair placement, prefire, tapfire, movement) -performance/Hardware/settings: optimization is still somewhat poor, so checking guides for graphic settings can change a lot.

28. (14:39) Lattice links are the colored lines on the map from one territory to another. They are never really "cut" - they are always there. The only enemy territories that are available for your faction to capture are those that have lattice links to territories that your faction owns. Don't get stuck on being a medic or an engineer all the time. Try everything and have fun doing it!

I think the TR have the best stock guns but once you get into unlocks they start to get nerfed.

I love it when youtube auto play deletes the comment i about to finish. You forget to tell them to fix the Friend or foe colors so they correspond to the faction colors which isn't default for some reason. Because its so hard to remember the red guys are bad when your not the red team or something.

1:16 Yeah those all went out the window. NC now has insane accurate and power, TR has insane firerate and power, and the VS have been nerfed a bunch. NC tends to win because of population, TR wins with brute force at times, and VS wins with strats and communication. TR tend to be hot tempered and get pissed fairly quick, NC act weird but can be a fun bunch, and VS are a blast to battle with, we just focus on having fun, and we always say "Where there is fights, there's certs!". We will even take our whole platoon to an area we arent even close to just to mess with the other two factions and have fun. And tbh, I would rather trade decent weapons for having a blast like I do with VS any day.

Great vid, thanks. I may be off, but it seems to me like your rifle usage at 10:14 indicate that you should either turn off mouse acceleration in Windows 10, or raise your sense a little, since your aim isn't straight on the target instantly and then you compensate (well) afterwards.

I gotta say I use to talk about hardware advantage all the time as a joke, saying stuff like "yee just buy 3000 dollar computer and then you have 10K/D ez game" and stuff like that, but recently I upgraded my computer hardware as well as bought a 144hz monitor, so I'm pulling really good FPS, and my K/D has significantly improved and I can actually track and aim effectively. Seriously, the ability to track moving targets and fire accurately at them is amplified by having a higher FPS and higher refresh rate.

Tips for nuggets in air, when you are in esf fly high at max alt (most people don't look up) from there observe for target, you have advantage of speed when dropping in to engage Only pick target that are solitary, doesn't have lumifiber and attacking ground If they outnumber you or have GLOWING LUMIFIBER RUN AWAY unless you maxed out any performance slot you have in the aircraft. ussualy if a pilot glow their lumifiber they KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and it takes another Ace to take em down. When in a pinch drop low and fast to the nearest Active AA/friendly air (any ESF pilot will gladly help to pad their killscore) but don't stop till u get to warpgate. Everyone fighting style is different in air but it boils down to a few things that need to be mastered: Manuevering, Aiming and situational awareness. Personally as reaver pilot if going anti air, i will close in with 50% of my afterburner, only shoot when he is basicly 5m-1m in front of your nose to maximize the damage and accuracy, then when he reverse face him with a reverse but then close the distance as you will need to aim less if its closer, after that pass him and keep engaging him in the same pattern.

More people should attempt being pilots in ps2. I'm not a "ACE" but I have my scythe maxed out and love occasionally playing the air. The beauty of ps2 is the variety of ways to enjoy combat. Flying planes is one of them but most newer player dont want to learn. Maybe someone should make a easy tutorial video on how to fly planes in a efficient dog fight

Crucial tip that changed Planetside 2 entirely for me is : Headshots and lag compensation. When you want to burst someone down, headshots are your best friend, but extra knowledge on networking also applies to other games. When I was a noob, the excuse I always use is P2W guns and cheaters whenever I got bursted down super fast in an equal 1-on-1 gun fight. That is until I tried to git gud, go for more headshots and learn about lag compensation. Demonstration at 3:05 in Wrel's video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYvGlKisoNd1b6s

31 you can not capture or overload a base which isn't on the frontline or the backwards owned base is save from enemies. Very frustrating when you don't know why you can't cap based

That's a well structured video with nice, simple Tipps. Good editing and stuff too, makes it fun to watch even for a vet like me. But dude, when it came to the more complex stuff like the lattice network it felt like you sped up your pace. I think it could be a bit confusing or hard to follow at some point for new players watching this (I'm only referring to the very end). Overall thanks for the effort of doing dbg job better at introducing /welcoming new players into the game. And most importantly clarifying how flat the learning curve actually is 😅👌

0:33 CoD games: Hackers are ruining the new players experience therefore they leave multiplayer. Planetside: Tryhards are ruining the new players experience therefore they leave period. (no campaign) The bar has never been set so low in games. Glad these tryhards felt the frustration of playing with absolutely NOBODY and found themselves ghost capping for years. May this have served as a valuable lesson.

6:37 such as that I prefer SMGs AND Assault Rifles/Carbines that excel in close quarters, as I can't aim for sh** beyond Mid Range. (OR, if using VR Training + Sweeper HUD Implant, 10 (1 "step" back on the shooting range) ~ 15m for hip firing. (maybe 20, depending on the weapon's Hip Accuracy) and 20~30 (or 35) with ADS. And since I main the VS, I determined that both the NS-11A/NS-11C & H-V45/VX-5 Zenith would work better for me.

Tip: Don't waste your certs on ant and construction. Everyone can see your orbital strike on the map and take it out easily, orbital strike is also too powerful and if you want to stay hidden and use the flail (artillery) instead you pretty much cant shoot anything as the no deploy areas (where you cant shoot artillery) around the bases are ridiculously huge.
@Squiggles013 жыл бұрын
Tip #555 ((if this number hasn't already been taken.)) The NC, TR and VS all have different noises when cloaking and decloaking. Learn what faction makes what noise to distinguish allied infiltrators from enemies.
