I walked the Frances this spring after patiently waiting for 21 years...and after only a few weeks back, I started planning the exact journey you just did, Via Podiensis & Frances for my 70th birthday gift to myself in 2026. Thank you so much for putting all your positive energy and smiles into this Camino community and the universe. Your joy and energy were felt through the internet straight into my heart. Looking forward to your next journey. Ultreia y suseia.

Congrats on an epic journey! Thank you for sharing. I plan to walk the same route next year. I've done the whole del Norte and Frances from Leon. One quick question, did your shoes last the entire trip or you have a pair stashed somewhere along the way? Can you share how you did that?
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You'll love it. We didn't have new shoes stashed anywhere but we all agree that we should have replaced them in St-Jean. They're only built to go about 500 miles, which is one Camino Frances (or one Via Podiensis). I've got some details on this in my packing list video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH2ap42OmNqobtE

Thank you guys for these videos, super helpful! I will be doing the Camino Frances this spring but plan to run it, one walking day a week. Those long forty plus kilometre days that you guys did I don't plan on doing with running. Did you meet anyone running?
@DaysWeSpend10 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! We’re glad they’re helpful. We’ve never met a runner on the trail, but a friend of ours runs the route.

@@DaysWeSpend Also, did you book your accommodation the whole way, or a bit of both? I'm thinking that if I am going to be running, I should beat out most of the crowds for the municipal albergues?

Love love loved this! Congrats on such an epic 50 days! Be honest, how many times did you guys sing the Proclaimers 500 miles over the course of the walk?😂
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
Thank you! We didn't sing it too much during the walk, but we sang it NONSTOP during the wedding. It's Hans and Laura's favorite song. So we had the wedding DJ play it twice. At the end where everyone is linking arms and spinning and then running towards Hans and Laura in the middle of the circle.... that's the Proclaimers song. 😍
@laeggerichs1 Жыл бұрын
The DJ tried to play it even more, and I made a friend stop him 😅😅

Question - on rainy days, when your feet get soaked (or do you have vortex shoes?) is there anything you do to help prevent blisters. I’m doing CF in Sept/Oct.
@DaysWeSpend11 ай бұрын
Our feet (and legs and pants) get soaked. Wearing two pairs of socks (merino wool socks and silk sock liners) helps prevent blisters with wet feet. Ultimately, it's important to dry out your shoes once it stops raining. Trail runners dry fairly quickly, even while walking.
@KathrynDamkroger11 ай бұрын
Thanks. I was debating whether to wear sock liners, this is another reason to give it a try 😊
