I finished my Camino (Monty Goes Global) on June 3rd. I skipped the Monastery because I was so tired (59 years old) and wanted my day to be as short as possible. Good for you for knocking it out. Wishing I had made the extra effort.

The journey to the monastery is a long day's journey, but a very beautiful one indeed. Here you walk mostly through wooded terrain, and in the end, visiting the monastery is an incredible moment. For pilgrims, the fare is 5 euros. In one of the wings of the monastery there is a donative albergue, which was still open the day after I passed by, but I decided to continue to Sarria, even though the road was very long.
