Just liked and subscribed. I have a 2007 GT set up very close to the same as yours except I still have on cats with short tube headers and Pypes. Your car sounds great! Noticed you had same door issues as most of us with S197's - I ended up installing some Coverlay door panel inserts. I also changed out the instrument cluster overlay with a Foose brushed aluminum one. I previously had a 2016 GT/CS with only 11,000 miles but a Chevy dealer made me an offer on a new Silverado pickup (that I really needed) that I couldn't refuse so I traded it. Your thought pattern about the 4.6 3 valve's performance and exhaust tone is spot on with me. My car is used as a cruiser and not something I beat on at my old age. 😁

I got a 2008 mustang gt bullitt making 315 wheel hp and everything is stock.I'm thinking about doing a stroker 4.6 with heads and cams..350 hp is still fast and your car sounds lovely..I love these model 4.6's cuz they turn more heads than a lil bit lol and they fun to drive.

I’ve recently bought a 03 Mach 1. 65,000 miles and has CAI, upgraded throttle body, egr delete, BBk headers, catless x pipe, borla exhaust and tuned. Stock gears and 5 speed. I’m the same way bro. I don’t get out and race the car but I’d like to see how it would hold up against a 3v or a newer 5.0. I’ve never raced the car and bought it for a show car/weekend cruiser but the curiosity gets me sometimes. Your car sounds sick man and looks awesome!

every new mustang body comes with more weight. Power to weight ratio is always something to consider. My 3v stayed with a stock 5.0

I had a red 2007 S197. It was really slow but it sounded phenomenal. I recently bought a 2020 GT and it's fast and sounds great from factory but I miss the sound of the 3 valve.

i built my 3v and the best thing you can do is build a car yourself. there not the fastest but its my pride and joy. epsecially up here in colorado. it was hard enough to get it over 300 wheel. but man do they sound good.

i’ll have to drop some acceleration clips & as far as tips goes. i don’t reallly have any lol. these 4.6 are good strong motors as long as you take care of them. the only restriction area is the heads on these cars and the two piece spark plugs can cause problems as well

You can build a pretty solid 450. But all forged internal rotating assembly, blueprinted. New heads etc. Then throw a super charger on it and it eats most things. But even 450 with that weight has pretty good results.

The S197 are lighter by 300 or 400 lbs, too. So you don't need as much power to get the same power to weight ratio as a 5.0

did you change your block? I changed my block to a 302 boss. It is iron and very strong. If you have the stock 4.6 block you will have problems.

The nemak 4.6 aluminum block is one of the strongest 4.6 blocks out there. The iron block is "weaker". Only block equal or "stronger" is the aluminum teksid block. His weak points are the pistons and rods.

I literally tell people the same thing about my cammed 06. It's slow! I still love it. I do miss all my pushrod 5.0's though. Especially my 95 5.0. They sound the best by far. If you have a sec check out my vid of my 06 3V. It's just a short one I made just after installing the cams. 🤙

Pretty close to my setup. Only difference is I have Howard rattler cams, and 4.10 gears. Same cold air intake, manifold, and headers. I don’t have the twin 62mm tb. I went with the twin 60mm gt500 with the blow by racing adapter just because it was only like $100. Cat/muffler delete with an x pipe. Also have the underdrive pulleys and a 150 shot from a zex wet kit. You hit it with that 150 shot and you won’t be saying it’s slow lol. Mine is faster than my 19 gt 10 speed but the 10 speed is still stock besides a 100 shot. If I sprayed the 10 speed it’s definitely faster than the 3v. The 3v fastest pass with a shotty 60ft it went 11.26 @ 122mph. But I didn’t by the 3v to be fast I just love the looks and sound. It’s quick enough to have fun and when I turn the bottle on it’s a little more

@@PrettyFLY4aWiFi. same thing it does for any engine. Less prosthetic drag. It’s really not much may free up 3-5hp and if you get the aluminum pulleys they are lighter and theoretically I guess it should rev quicker. But honestly unless you can get a good deal I wouldn’t recommend them if you are paying $200+ for them. Plus I’ve heard of a lot of ppl having charging issues after installing them on the 3v. I didn’t but a bunch have

@@PrettyFLY4aWiFi. if you are set on staying with the 3v and wana add more power I’d say just go straight to boost. If that isn’t in the budget just do some 4.10 gears and a 125 shot. Those are what made the biggest difference. I installed the cams longtubes , ford racing manifold and gt500 twin 60mm throttle body all at the same time and that made a huge difference but most that power was from the cams and longtubes. The factory manifold and throttle body are fine. But just with some 4.10 gears and a 100-150 shot with a good set of tires you could definitely be deep into the 12’s. My car runs 12.40’s on motor and 11.20’s on the bottle. I do have all adjustable rear control arms too

You should. With your setup, it would be good to know...With your cams & intake, you wont be making full power until you get into the higher rpm's. If you dynoed, you would know the rpms when you're making the most power and shift then. On the street, you might surprise yourself and gap a coyote. Love your setup. 3v's sound amazing.They aren't a slow car. It's just your 50 is faster...

I've got a Paxton Novi 2200 pushing 10 lb of boost 550 to the rear wheels 2006 GT 38000 MI stock motor been on there since 4000 miles Ford Racing shorty headers Roush exhaust this car will break the tires loose at 50 Mi an hour and I've got 40 on the back 😆 she's fun
