For anyone who wants to play as few games as possible while maximizing reputation: Only play one character until you complete all four daily challenges and do NOT play more games are required for that day. You can wait until friday and do it all at once, if you prefer, just don’t do more or switch characters.* Wait until you have the maximum reputation modifier before grinding out games. *They did change it so the daily challenge rep bonus is account based, so switching characters no longer hurts you. It’s just day 1, 2, 3, and 4. So no earning it early by doing things on each character.

all your points are completely valid. i have played multiple games in this season is iron banana and it felt like I was the only one interested in capturing the zones. When its the main objective of the match, it becomes frustrating very fast. I blame it on the bounty system to be honest, the majority of the pvp playerbase wants to complete crucible bounties and not actually contribute to getting a win.

I love the mention of a Precision GL, If you weren't a Y1 player, the only GL with that frame you still have access to is the green Penumbra GSM. You will earn the Armor free as you play, keep the armor and when you finish matches before they end, just equip four pieces while wearing an emblem. No transmog needed, no new armor upgrades needed. Works every time.

Something I do so that I have complete freedom with my weapons is keeping an iron banner class item and I transmog it with a DIFFERENT iron banner class item, then I can run any weapons I want, and an exotic armor piece, the only cost being that I lose artifice on my class item

3 points resonated with me here 1- bows are dope. I was using under your skin with enhanced archers tempo/opening shot for most of this week and it just cooked the whole time. Honorable mention to my precision instrument guiding sight for holding its own too. 2- @11:30 so many times I was holding down mid map against 4 or more players for 30 seconds or more with zero help from my team. What on earth could be holding them up? I could hear the gunfire off in the distance (I'm getting used to it now), but no one ever comes. Were they just avoiding mid the whole game? 3- I despise fortress. It's not the worst ever, but it's not great. Confession time; I actually love eruption. There, I said it. I'm out of the eruption closet. It's hella fun to feel that intensity to push constantly because you might die if you do, but you know you're going to die if you don't. Plus it takes care of the team mate baiting players who think they're good just because they run from every fight and only engage when the enemy is focused on someone else.

This explained my frustrations this week completely. I only wanted certain weapon rolls from the loot pool like the stag bow with swash and a golden tricorn jorums. I reset twice and played upwards of 120 matches. I got balanced to absolute hell. Having double digit score caps or neutralized zones and still losing cause I have two teammates with 0s or rage quitters really had me more angry at the game than normal. They have killed solo play in IB for me. It's not fun as it was in the past

Going Void hunter with Forerunner and Armit helped me a LOT to pull some hero plays. Also tethering with moebius quiver lets you insta -wipe the turrets so usually for the second drop I saved my Tether and stole some points + make orbs for my team to get those wells / Bubbles running if there were any + buying some time preventing super casts near the zone. Provided I didn't get R.Launched. I agree with Cammy's take on IB Fortress 100%. Also thanks Cammy for the Heavy Rotation list, your sacrifice won't be in vain.

"bows are broken, I don't want to hear excuses" - This, this is the most important part of this video. So much so that it might warrant its own video, what with the PvP strike team looking for feedback. Bows are arguably the single strongest primary weapon type in the game, and since the recent range changes that brought *no damage falloff ceiling* to bows, which also gives them hitscan properties at *any range*, they've gone from decent on mid-range maps to dominating on every map. A good bow takes ~500ms to draw a shot, if not lower thanks to a TON of drawtime perks. That's its TTK, since the first bow charge is free (pre-charge around cover like a fusion). The enemy has less than 0.5s to react after being hit the first time before they die, at ANY RANGE, with 2bodies or 1h1b. Hand Cannons, aka ShortZoom Scouts from any other game, are meant to be destiny's best peakshot option within optimal ranges. Outside that, scouts exist. Bows throw all this out the window since they're now better than both HCs and Scouts at any and every range, and can be hipfired with perfect accuracy, even from the air.

Bows are not *literally* 500ms TTK, it actually varies a ton--there's a delay after firing a shot before you can nock your next arrow, so full draw->full draw is a good bit longer. However, if you're able to get a kill with a partially drawn second arrow, that's where the sauce is. Easier said than done, but it's there.

Control is my favourite mode for iron banner I like that defensive players get rewarded for defending the zones and aggressive players get rewarded for slaying out when you go on the hunt

100% agree, I am a solo player, average to below average in PvP (Bronze/Silver Comp as a reference), I know key is to get and protect 2 zones but it doesn't matter. teammates in solo lobbies see the mode as a KD enhancer and don't go for the objectives. I win maybe 1/3 or 1/4 only because I instantly go for B flag and try and buble first on central objective

I’m nowhere near your skill level, yet still 90% of my games feel like they’re extremely sweaty- down to the wire 126-124 end scores where I had to try to play perfectly to win. it’s beyond stressful. had a game where we were losing A flag and we’re at B, I realize all my team is there and look around: they’re just standing there. I shot at them to try to convince someone DO SOMETHING LMFAO. glad u mentioned hero plays, had some games where I felt like the backbone of the team, one death at the wrong time spiraled the rest of the game out of control and my team keeps running it down, and I join them to desperately try gaining back momentum. I used jotunn to try guaranteeing killing 2-3 people with my life to sway games more in my favor and 1 shot barricades. fortress is so sweaty and stressful. yeah ik skill issue whatever ik most of you will resonate with something said here.

Thoughts on all of this? Do I need to lay off the zaza or am I on to something with all or some these (please be as brutally honest as possible) : 1. Iron Banner isnt around long enough. This might just be me though, but I feel like one or even two more weeks would make the experience less "GET THE EMBLEM BEFORE ITS GONE FOREVER BECAUSE BUNGIE LOVES FEAR OF MISSING OUT" and more "Oh neat. Iron Banner is back! Where's my broooooo's???!!!" 2. We need more maps. Period. Even after the map pack, we will need more maps. Full stop. 3. Voting on maps. 3a. Voting on gamemode. 3b. You know the private match lobby? Extend that template into the broader Crucible for use with lobbies and voting. 4. Bring ALL of the maps from Destiny 1 and the content vault to the game. ALL. OF. THEM. 4a. Sparrows and vehicles re-enabled in the Crucible except on the smallest maps. 5. 3v3 disinterests me heavily regardless of the gamemode or playlist. Give us a competitive 6v6 with Zone Control and maybe a new game mode or two that players can vote on. Final suggestion: BRING BACK ALL OF THE IRON BANNER AND COMPETITIVE EMBLEM LS AND LET US FARM THEM. WE CAN STILL BUY TINCTURES. YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.

My strategy was to use Wishender/Gunnora’s Axe on my Strand warlock. Use wishender to peek for a lane, then grapple around a corner at the right time with that info and either melee or shotgun em. Wishender you just use to peek lanes and you can force the team to rotate if you hit Crits enough. Since wishender hits twice per shot, it seems to work super well with the aspect that charges your grenade so that you can grapple constantly

Even with an exotic armor piece you don't need to equip an iron banner weapon to get 5/5 ib gear. Ornaments and gear count separately. Just pull an ib class item from collection, apply a different ib ornament to it and voila 5/5 with all weapon slots free to run whatever you'd like.

It's literally the solo experience, I agree. Went from doing a very good game (30+ kills and objective presence) to play against all the teammates that were with me while in team with blueberries. Least to say, the mercy us instantly, and I don't have any kind of meaningful pressure because I'm alone. Situation is better in duo, but not that great anyway. Also, I agree, bows are broken, games where the enemy team was using them were so much harder, and we only won because of overshields and bubbles + some bow users on our team too

All good points, I'd like to mention that loot drops are also very low. If I want to get old armor for another character, it takes 3 engrams per item. It makes getting a full set take forever and keeps me from putting it towards the weapons.

I fortress'd enough this week to reset my rank once. So, not a ton, but a considerable amount. I won about half of my matches, usually alternating between victory and loss, and rarely did I go on a streak of either. So SBMM, in theory, is working great for me. However, a noticeable pattern did emerge. If we won, I was at the bottom of the scoreboard, and did little more than add kills to the enemy teams trackers. If we lost, I was at the very top of the scoreboard, popping scrubs and capping points like my life depended on it. Only a handful of games didn't follow this pattern (I counted 6, but I could've easily miscounted) I NEVER ONCE won a game AND did well. These were mutually exclusive things. I think I'm just in a strange spot where I'm shoved between mid-tier players and low-tier players. I'll slay out against noobs, which makes the game think I'm good enough to move up, but then I'm easily crushed by anyone wish any semblance of skill, so the game thinks I need to be among noobs again, but I slay out against noobs, so the game thinks... This gamemode is weird, man. SBMM is weird, man.

Cammy, when it comes back, try blink, astrocyte and Nova warp. I was using a bow and smg but and it was fun! Took out a few bubbles and wells along the way, but I’m definitely not at your level, so my opponents were probably fools like me too, so grain of salt. But it was fun. I was mostly just being a nuisance target, teleporting around and getting the enemy volatile while my blueberries got the kills... kind of ape support. It might have just been me being the worst ever so the game balanced my team with much better players, or maybe it was just that I was having fun in PvP again, but it seemed like I was winning more than losing.

I'm a guy who likes to switch up his load out often in between matches in PvP to experiment and try new things. The mode is very frustrating in that I felt like I had to play with my sweat bow load out using Wish Ender to even have a chance at getting kills much less win the match. Every time I turned a corner trying to use an auto rifle or some off meta weapon I ran into a gank squad or a grenade launcher. I hope checkmate is a lot more fun with weapon variety.

I feel a lot of the complaints SBMM are a part of a wider FPS culture issue rather than an issue with the system itself. People like winning. Winning feels good. And when people want to play to win rather than have fun, you get un-fun matches where everyone has to sweat their balls off in every single playlist including casual in order to compete.

I appreciate the discussion on which iron banner weapon to use to max reputation but why not just use synths? Iron banner synths count as armor. An iron banner armor piece with an iron banner synth counts as two. They you can use whatever you want in weapons.

I aqree SBMM needs a big change. I think if they just make it so the players are banded into 3 skill levels bottom third, top third, and mid third. The top and bottom thirds should never be in the same game together except some weirdness with premade teams those will require a bit more nuance. The middle third should primarily play against other middle third players but the top end may be pulled into the top third if needed for que times and the bottom of the middle third can do the same for lower third players. Que times will be longer but we really need a way to stop putting people in the bottom 20% of the skill bracket onto a team to try to drag a top 5% player down. Those matches suck for everyone, for the top 5% player it's just constant 3v1s because your team is crumbling around you, for the bottom 20% its just being non stop farmed by people in the middle of the skill tier.

I'm a very middle of the bell curve player, but still Destiny Tracker says virtually every one of my games is a 70%+ chance for one team to win, usually the opposing team. The match making isn't even close, and it sure as hell isn't trying to 50/50 my win record. It's frustrating to play when 90%+ of my games are decided in the lobby balancing phase and 80% of that time is against me.

This is my first D2 Iron Banner and I've been solo-queuing all week. I'm at 3k kills with 2.23 KDA. It's been frustrating knowing the heavy spawns and no one on my team tries to get them and most of the time it ends up being a rough game because of it. Personally, I've been having some fun playing the mode but Ive only been using Guiding Sight and as soon as I get the roll I've been grinding for I'm so done with IB.

You know you can also pull out a mark from collection, apply ornament to it and it will count as 2 Iron banner pieces

Btw you dont need to use the iron banner weapon. You can just use an iron banner shader

I reset my rank twice this week as a solo. It was painful. I was running wavesplitter and using Aeons for infinite void souls. The matchmaking put 3 stacks against my team of solo. In past IB it put both 3 stacks on the same team. Bungie's SBMM doesn't work.

Or for the multiplier tip: Just switch to a loadout with all IB gear right before the end of each game.

what if all my loadout slots are already being used or - like cammy said in the video - the match is down to the wire layered x3 and double-layering an iron banner class item's defo the way to go, however the power weapon option so you can keep your artifice class item is a nice alternative

Didn’t realize this until I duo’d with a friend but on dysjunction when you start the match for non-tree side you actually spawn near the flag and the. After that whether it’s cap by your team or you get spawn flipped you spawn behind it in the OG spawn location. So not only do you have to run very far to cap but then run out again into narrow lanes to possibly get farmed or die trying to get B flag. Why not spawn next to it or not spawn next to the enemy team also

Honestly, as a casual player, i love iron banner. It has a fun objective to it which is not just simply "kill" or "kill but with extra steps" and it´s actualy fun having to play around objectives, wether it be the actual flags, the turrets or the heavy ammo. I´ve learned alot about being more aggressive with my plays because here, you can sometimes do it while in almost any other gamemode, you can hang back, camp, killstreak and get massive amount of points or if you are a god tier player you fly around, kill stuff and win the entire match by yourself. And when i see those players in IB, i am annoyed since i tend to constantly get killed by them, but then i realize that since they are here, that means the other players are most likely below me and my objective is now "avoid the monster -> capture points where monster is not -> gain points through capturing -> pay attention through killfeed where monster is -> win" because they will just go for killstreaks and very often never go for the objective... in an objective based mode. I know, shocking. And having the game turned into dead by daylight is actualy fun sometimes. The loot is cool honestly, gunnoras axe is fantastic with the fun hipfire grip + opening shot combo which sometimes feels like cheating, the Guiding sight with gutshot streight + hatchling since gutshot buffs them which is halarious for pve, pressurized precision with discord and hatchling for a mass addclear with an amazing ammo eco, the very reliable and a bit underrated (since it seems boring) point of the stag with precision instrument and archers tempo and the very fun and unique combo of gutshot + headseeker Jorums claw which makes it that you constantly deal bonus damage and is maybe not the end all be all roll but is alot nicer then i thought. Obviously if you are a more hardcore player or seasoned veteran then yeah... none of the weapons are interesting, gamemode bad because pvp or other reasons... it is what it is. One build that i just found to be very fun to play is Voidlock with healing rift, child of the old gods, chaos accelerant and vortex nades. Vortex gives me rift energy, child gives me energy for everything and the exotic armor are the eon gloves which give me rift energy everytime my teammates die... in a 6v6 mode so it happens alot and it feels like i have my rift up every second engagement. I annoy people, it´s very fun and i am very annoyingly to deal with. And the worse we do the more i spam and hope that it helps with comebacks. But thats just the player i am and i don´t take destiny pvp seriously in the first place. it has fundamentaly so many issues that i cannot take it seriously at all. Destiny pvp is to me like old cod games. Fun casual stuff with the occasional sweat but overall, never to be taken seriously. And THAT is how i still have fun playing destiny 2 pvp despite me playing a mostly pve player and a casual aswell.
