Great video! I love learning new cooking ideas, as well as tip and tricks on Griddling. Two of my recently discovered tips involve using a wood scraper vs. a steel one, a huge difference in the cleaning of the griddle as you don't have to worry about scratching the surface, and Scotts Blue Paper towels (garage towels). The Blackstone, a professional- restaurant grade griddle, on average, is at least $50.00 cheaper than the Camp chef. Also, the Blackstone can be bought at Wal-Mart along with all of their accessories such as the Breakfast kit, Smash burger kit, Griddle tool kit, cover and much more. All of the Blackstone accessories have the "BLACKSTONE" logo on them. I've never seen Camp Chef ANYTHING at Wal-Mart. I leave my Blackstone 28 inch griddle outside on my deck all year and have no problem with rust as long as I keep it oiled and well seasoned. Camp Chef=Blackstone wanna be. :=)
@BrianEibner5 жыл бұрын
That cracks me up "Camp Chef=Blackstone wanna be. :=) ". I'm defiantly not a Blackstone wanna be!! The Camp Chef by far is the better of the two. I have looked at several Blackstone models over the years and their griddle is just a piece of steel VS the Camp Chef has true seasoned surface, non-stick & ready to cook, micro adjust griddle levelers, built-in heat diffuser plates distribute heat, eliminate "hot-spots" and a wind screen. Blackstone says to "use washers to level griddle". Are they kidding me "a professional- restaurant grade griddle"?? 🤯🤯
@mrbooker31625 жыл бұрын
BRIAN EIBNER: BLACKSTONE IS HEAVIER BUILT, MORE STURDY GRIDDLE THAN THE CHEAPLY BUILT "CAMP CHEF". THE "PRE SEASONED" SCAM IS A JOKE. NON STICK? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? READY TO COOK, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HEAT DIFFUSER...???? LOL. ELIMINATES HOT SPOTS... LOL JUST COMPARE THE WEIGHT OF THE BLACKSTONE AGAINST THE CHEAP CAMP CHEF... NUFF SAID. AS I SAID BEFORE, BLACKSTONE IS AT LEAST $50.00 CHEAPER. $50.00 IN SAVING WILL BUY ME A LOT OF MEAT FOR MY BLACKSTONE. "TRUE SEASONED SURFACE, NON STICK & READY TO COOK CAMP CHEF"... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? CAMP CHEF=BLACKSTONE WANNA BE.

I have a question. I was thinking about a new Weber at around $350 for the back yard in Florida. How do these 2 products hold up to heat and humidity? This is what I've experienced in a grill falling apart over time. And of course ease in cleaning is a must for me.
@johnbrowne33782 жыл бұрын
Umm, the fact Blackstone is sold at Walmart is not really something to brag about. Walmart sells a ton of made in China junk. The Camp Chef is the better griddle. You should do some real research on the subject.

Looks awesome! That bacon was really lean. We had breakfast for dinner tonight about 1-2 hrs. ago and this made me hungry. I would really like to get one of those Camp Chef grills, but I'm not wild about cooking on a deck without cover in winter. Maybe come spring. Maybe the portable would be a better choice for me. Just curious, did you use two or three cameras to record this? I'm guessing your handheld became your overhead one. How did you mount your overhead camera? Thanks!
@BrianEibner5 жыл бұрын
I did use two cameras, overhead "my handheld" Canon Vixia HF S20 and then from the right side Sony FDR-X3000, audio and opening shot down the stairs. I screwed the Canon to a shelf support bracket and then clamped it to the roof joist above. I do use the flat top a lot more now with the outdoor cook shack, one of my better ideas. Hey Brian. The Campchef SG24 is on sale at Target with either the Searbox or sidekick. Which would you choose as the better buy? I would love a sear box if it truely gets to 900degrees, solely for the fact we cook a lot of steaks. However, I think the sidekick would introduce us to cook a bit more breakfast related items outside. How hot does the sidekick get? Would it be hot enough for a great sear on a steak?
@BrianEibner4 жыл бұрын
Have you watched my video "Camp Chef Sidekick Deluxe BBQ Grill Box New York strip steaks and ginger shrimp". In my opinion the Side Kick gives you more options. I would use a pure or extra virgin olive oil rather than rapeseed oil. That’s bad stuff.
@BrianEibner5 жыл бұрын
Canola oil I used, although grape seed ("rapeseed”?) is great for high temp cooks like screaming hot cast iron. Lol on other comment "home browns" sometimes I say things while shooting video that just do not make the best sense to me or others (I'm working on it) although that is what my dad called fried potatoes or he also called them “nickels” if sliced. Thank you for commenting, good to hear from you
@MichaelRei995 жыл бұрын
Brian Eibner Home Browns is funny that is why I wrote that but that is besides the point. Canola oil was renamed because rapeseed oil doesn’t sound very appetizing. It is a highly chemically refined GMO oil that has many potential bad health effects. It is also higher in trans fats than they would have you believe. It’s in your best interest to do some research and get rid of highly processed oils . Their touted health benefits are farcical at best. Just a concerned fan trying to help a brother out.

Thank you, nice job on those hash browns. Do you really need to boil them first? Just cooks faster?
@chefinthewild15515 жыл бұрын
Brian Eibner you don’t have too but you’ll get nicer browning, more evenly cooked potatoes, and it takes half the time, plus they won’t brown on you like uncooked. It’s what all the good restaurants do that I worked at for hashbrowns. Love your griddle, need one of those!. And a bacon press!

Camp Chef= Blackstone wanna be. lol
@BrianEibner5 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣😕😕. I don't think so. Are they kidding 🤯🤯 Thanks for watching
