Campbelltown Green-Waste

We are over on the south-west side of Sydney checking out the Sita collection trucks in Campbelltown. The one we see in this video is a very old ex-Gosford truck collecting the many green-waste bins which were scattered around the neighbourhood. The driver calls this truck "Big Bertha" and was telling me he was using it due to the fact this his regular side loader was off the road.
Also FYI all the different waste streams collected from Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Councils (Macarthur Region) are taken to a major Resource Recovery Park which is located at WSN's former Jacks Gully landfill facility. The garbage is taken to an ArrowBio mixed waste facility, the green-waste is taken to an ArrowBio organics facility, the recycling is offloaded into the receivals of an upgraded MRF and the loads of kerbside clean-up are also sorted through to recover recycling and materials of use.

Don't forget these are the Australian operations, we don't get AW over here. Now that you mention Pacific, we also had a company called Pacific Waste Management (PWM) a few years ago, which also got bought by SITA.

Wow 2600mm that's about 8 and a half feet.... that's pretty good! Just for fun, I compared it to the Labrie (they claim to have the longest reach on the market) and the Labrie will reach 12ft or about 3658mm. Interesting info on those trucks, thanks for sharing!

Believe it or not, they actually had operations in Australia up to one point, where they got bought by SITA Environmental Solutions.

I reckon Labrie has that record for longest reach, just seeing how their arm slide has two stages!

From what I remember, the arm is supposed to reach approx 1800mm on these ones, but after checking MJ's site, I read that their newer models can reach up to 2600mm! - atleast that is what it says.

I think it might actually be a MkIII, or some kind of later MkIII model... just a gut feeling. I thought the first MkIV models already had the raised hopper floor? Not totally sure... a good question!

WOW ! i believe you! but i thought they were bought by Pacific waste and then Pacific waste Was bought buy allied waste so now allied owns all three.(allied,Pacific and BFI)

The spare trucks have come from all over the shop. Gosford, Ashfield, and a couple of others, but i'll have to remember them!!!!! LOL. And did the driver tell you his name?
