I am so sorry to hear about Oscar guys. We feel your pain and understand how crap you must be feeling. It is odd trying to explain to others how the loss of a dog can impact upon you, often overshadowing other grief that should be more important... but isn't. This is because Oscar was always with you to share your moments. Mornings were always the worst when we lost Foster (you'll see him in our early vids with the splitty!) We would wake to the same old dread that he was no longer with us. We did not recover until we got Raffy months later. He never replaced Foster but, he filled an Airedale shaped hole that was missing from our lives. Keep strong both. Mal, Ruth and Raffy. x

We don't really have any words to say how sorry we are you lost your pooch, so quick as well. We lost ours after 14.5yrs and took a three year break , but we eventually replaced our steady old Schnauzer with a complete knobber , as mad as a box of frogs Cockapoo, who makes us laugh everyday. We did enjoy the break though and you're right it does give you opportunities. What ever you decide in life best wishes Helen and Martin.

WOW! That must have been so tough! Oscar is the first dog we’ve loved and lost and while we expected it to be tough, we had no idea just how tough it would be. We still talk about him most days and still, now, don’t think we could do it again but, who knows, maybe one day 🙏🏼

So sad guys, truly gutted for you both. We said we'd never have another one after Dexter, even more so when I had to take Mam & Dad's dog Meg to be put to sleep not long after. But time is a great healer, and you hit the nail on the head when you said the right dog will come along and you won't want to or be able to say no, exactly how we ended up with Cookie. When we were considering adopting Cookie (for about a nano-second!), I read something the resonated with me, it said "Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart." X

Re the kayaking, my wife and I have been looking into this as well, we really like the Seago inflatable ones, the bottom of them are built like a paddle board, so very strong and sturdy.

We said we weren't going to replace our Sammy dog when we lost her suddenly in the first lock down....we have ended up with a budgie and a hamster lol. Not a day goes by we don't wish she was still here with us.....but we should be getting our van within the next 3 weeks(finally) and as you say the possibilities are endless when there is only you both to worry about. Looking forward to your new activities and adventures and have just made a note of that campsite maybe for our first outing. 😀

Ah guys, I delayed watching this for 2 reasons. Firstly, I know how losing a pet is like losing a family member and I feel so much for you both. We got to know and care about Oscar through your vlogs. You three were lucky to have had each other even though it’s never for long enough. Secondly, Coniston Park Coppice was our all time favourite site, Bri especially loved it, so I’ll be honest I flicked through this vlog because it’s too early for me for Coniston. Hawkshead’s another place. Plenty more to see in the Lakes though so I might leave those two alone now. Sounds like you have some exciting wild camp plans.
