Campervan engine DISASTER: why I DISAPPEARED from YouTube

I'm back! It's been a wild ride, and I wanted to share with you all what happened. Our campervan's engine gave out, leading to a major disaster that forced me to take a break from making videos. In this video, I'll explain everything that went wrong, the challenges we faced, and how we overcame them. Thank you for your patience and support during this time. looks like you got done up like a kipper. the head gasket job should have told them that ther was low compresson on all other cylinders not affected by the HG position. thanks for the heads up to avoid that garage at all costs.

Please explain your interpretation of how low compression would of flagged up from a head gasket job?

A pressurised coolant system, does not warrant a compression test, it requires a "sniff test" where exhaust gases are traceable in the cooling system. Despite the frustrations of this, this is not the garages fault. I think you're talking in terms of a headgasket leak between cylinders, which was not the case.

i looked at about 5 vans and all had major issues, realised most people keep a van when it is working well and only sell when they see a major problem just down the road, went for a new nv400 with 5 year warranty, it has had some issues (air con leak and alarm) but piece of mind knowing i am covered by warranty

Hi Dave, I’m having the exact same issue with low compression issues. Only done 50k miles but I would rather replace the engine that have the head gasket replaced. How much was the Van and how much have you spent on repairs? And how many miles has it done? Thinking of getting a Relay but not too sure on the reliability and new ones seem to be around £25k so don't know if its worth saving up instead of getting a used one...

Hi Dave sorry to hear the crap news! I've just bought a Relay with 34000 on the clock, would you recommend on replacing the head gasket straight away to safeguard it from all the problems that you have had?

Hiya chap, 🙉🙉 bear this video in mind, but I suggest you go and watch my latest video from last week 🙈🙈🙈

Personally I wouldn't advise getting head gasket done, with that mileage if you feel it's running fine. There are a few steps you can do ensure head gasket is OK though. A sniff test from the cooling system, to detect if exhaust gasses are in the cooling system, also a compression test to ensure the readings fall with manufacturers specification and are reading (around) the same figures. If both of these tests come back OK, this would not warrant the head gasket to be replaced. Hope this helps.
