Some would think that a sliding window would be better but like yourself I heard they can leak. I think it's just as sensible to open the sliding door if some fresh air is needed. I have a sliding window on my Talbot express but have only used it twice in almost four years, I prefer to slide the door open. The two front windows are so close to the back, those too let good airflow through. You have two sliding doors, tons of fresh air on a hot day, Oh! and the back opens up 👍

It really is as easy as it looks though, cut hole, apply primer, apply adhesive, fit window, job done

@@TheCampervanBuilder I did one once with that cheap Polish glass on EBAY. I had to use spreaders from the garage wall to make it fit the contour. 😅. That taught me a big lesson about buying cheap glass.

@@tonydalton6756 I've used this glass on a T5 before and haven't had any issues so far, maybe you just got unlucky or they sent the wrong glass?

Did you not have to dress the metal back at all as I’ve offered my window to the aperture before cutting the hole and it won’t sit flush. Seems like maybe the panel bows out in the middle ??

As always mate..👍👍, just wondering why you didnt put a sliding/opening window in instead..

just heard they can have leaking issues, rather avoid that potential problem with a static window

You do know that you're supposed to primer the window too....? The bevel on the T4 door/panel is also supposed to be flattened and welded together to make it flat and getter a better bond onto the window. Theres also supposed to be a rubber finishing strip on the window too... Im not being critical about your work, and the window will probably stay put but it aint fitted correctly....IMHO I fitted mine by cutting out the panel, treating it after the 2 skins where bonded and welded together and its absolutely solid. Then primered the panel and window, fitted it in place then left it overnight to cure.

Hi. Did this not come with a rubber window channel? What does it look like inside if not? Thanks
@TheCampervanBuilder Жыл бұрын
It didn't come with the seal so I ran a smooth edge of sealant around the inside and carpeted up to the edge for a neat finish
