Do you keep the fire going all night long? How were the cots for sleeping. Nicer off the ground/floor. Is going to the bathroom challenging? We have a family camp 🏕 in Northern Ontario and I remember going to the outhouse one morning and it was -45C. The frost inside the opening for the seat was 5 cm thick...2 inches. It gets so cold that the trees 🌳 Crack as the sun warms them. Our wood stove struggled a bit to keep the camp warm. Too old to go now. This was back in the 80s to 2010s.

We'd get up every 3 or 4 hours to add logs to the stove but there were enough coals left that it would light right up. This stove is more than enough for this size tent so it has no issue keeping it warm. The cots were nice, much nicer than an air mattress if you can take the weight and bulk. We have myriad skills lol

Make a batch of marinated smoked beef jerky high over the fire, I always bring back a batch for the week when I go camping and winter camping the weekends. My fav is pork cubes with alot of fat marinated with 5 spices, ginger and soy sauce and then cooked over the hot fire. Porc fat is the best fat there is. This recipe is a game changer. Nice video as usual keep them comming A++

i like your videos . its nice to see your text at time saying what your doing or eating, and stuff. the cabin stove tent looks very nice, how come you 2 didn't go with the 12x12. IT look like you where able to keep the stove going all night

We debated on the size, but ultimately the 10x10 has a lot fewer poles and sets up in almost half the time. So convenience and also space/weight when packed up. The stove never went completely out but we had to feed it every 3-4 hours depending on the number and size of logs. So when we'd wake up cold we'd just put a few in and go back to sleep.

Say, what do elk burgers taste like? Are they gamey?

There's a slight hint of it but not really. It's super lean so there was a little beef added in for some fat. Similar to a regular burger but a nice distinct flavor that's a nice change.

@@2withnature OK thanks. I've had buffalo burgers, but those are fine for fat content. Really tasty too! I find deer to be a bit gamey, so I wondered if Elk would be also.

It's much less gamey than the deer I've had. We've had some elk steaks that were really good and we enjoyed these burgers a lot.
