Surviving Ringworm

Күн бұрын

I've been building ridiculous structures for well over a year and most I've never even used! Finally, birthday party week rolled around and the girl and I decided to spend one night "camping" at/on each of my creations.We tried out: the deer castle, the hanging bed, the gazebo, the tent. Weather kept us from sleeping 15 feet up in the trees on the sky deck though it did eventually get used.
Because I’ve gotten so many questions about the gear that I use on the channel, here are some of the most important pieces I use every day:
(I do receive a small commission from sales associated with the following links. Any income from these sales goes directly to supporting me in making new videos for this channel!)
My Favorite Piece of Gear- Chainsaw Helmet amzn.to/3uuW5xB
Granberg Chainsaw Mill amzn.to/3cdRXvn
How I Keep the Mosquitoes Away! amzn.to/3frenvh
Big, Black Log-Peeling Knife - Becker BK9 amzn.to/3oZIeOH
The Trailer I Use Behind My 4 Wheeler- Yutrax amzn.to/3fvO8DK
Bug Net Rooms I Use amzn.to/3uwOK0l
Portable Heaters in My Tent and the Deer Castle amzn.to/3frQ7Jh
Thank you all so much for supporting this crazy endeavor! Without you folks donating to Surviving Ringworm, I wouldn't be able to even consider staying out here in the wilderness a second year making videos. You seriously blow my mind!

Thinking it would be cool if you made an “artist’s rendering” poster/map of the Ringworm layout. Would give us a perspective of the layout. Maybe posters - I might buy one!

I could easily live in that. Get a little woodstove. I can imagine being in there late at night with a fire crackling and a good book while it stormed outside. My friend in college had an old cabin way out in the forest in Colorado with an old wood-burning stove for cooking and no electricity. Staying there was magical and so much over and above everyday life.

To cut down the size of the deer hut, rig a canvas tarp from the centre of the ceiling that you can roll down in the winter and up in the summer.

As a self-identified "Completist", I had to watch every video starting with #1 before commenting. I love what you're doing. As someone who also saves things until the right project comes along, I had deep feels when you installed that turnbuckle hardware on the Gazebo screen door....I related so hard to that moment. This also needs to be said: You are quite the impressive, well-rounded dude. If I wanted a best friend, I would pick someone like you...no h0m0. This channel speaks to my own frugalness and desire to create... it's mucho relatable & my new favorite. I give your content 5 stars and will dream of Ringworm henceforth and forevermore. P.S. - As a Finn living under The Bridge, I would love to see you take some of that beautiful Cedar to build a nice SAUNA for you & your lady. My 86yo Dad has a pickle-barrel-style Sauna on our Ishpeming property. It's a must in God's Country! Kiitos!

So I have been binge watching you stuff and loving it. I do have some questions for you. I am a retired firefighter/paramedic and I have been a rope rescue guy for 20+ years. Are you trained in technical climbing and rigging or just recreational? Several times I have seen you pondering for solutions that some quick rope work would have worked, especially with that fantastic webbing you got! When I saw that, I started to see treetop walkways, sketchy zip lines. You know you can make haul systems from harbor freight pulleys! Anyway, fantastic attitude and keep having fun for the rest of us!

Hey you know a 15 watt solar panel & charge controller would be enough for each building on its own. You just need a 12v battery for each building and you can run ur fan all night. I get them from harbor freight. Love ur show just trying to give you ideas. I think you should actually start renting them for 3 day camping trips or a package week to sleep in each one. Anyways I love ur passion for woodworking I live in Michigan and just recently stared looking for land. I hope to find about ten acres in the UP.
@kameljoe21
@kameljoe21 2 жыл бұрын
nah do not waste your time with cheap low wattage solar panels. I am pretty sure the cheapest 100 watt new panel is 70 dollars. Most local places have solar panels for around 25 cents a watts used. You can buy around 6kw of solar panels for like 1700 dollars shipped. Due to the shading and low light areas one would do better with more solar. For most of his buildings they all can support about 1kw pretty easy. You only need 1kw of battery for some of the most simple things. All the extra power can just go to charging stuff, running fans during the day and anything else one might need.

I am currently binging your whole journey and lovin it. You often say you appreciate suggestions for crazy builds. Well, here is one which I think you might grok. Build a very tall and narrow tower. Very difficult normally, but here's the thing... You start by building a spiral staircase into an existing tree, each step gets you to the next. Right up your chainsaw alley me'thinks. Mortice the steps/planks right through to pick up the eventual outside framing.Then use those very steps to allow access to the framing of the tower as it goes up. Ass about I know, but that might appeal to you. I would try to go high enuf for a view myself. And, I would probly try a small one as proof of concept. You would probly not, it could be a bit more dangerous than the the deer hide roof tho. But you have climbing experience, I would suggest being hooked on always.

Puppy!!!!! I love seeing you guys together. What's the puppy's name? (Ruby) Sleepovers are always fun. So creative. 5⭐ for ALL of your sleepover spots!!!!!! You created every single one of these options! That's the best in my book. You and your chainsaws could so easily be confused for a serial killer; if you and your friends weren't so adorable. Beg your girlfriend to move in with you. Give her, her own tree house.

think about raised bed on pulleys for deer stand / bed frees up floor space / also watch for McDonald's going out of business or playground and get the spiral slide to exit deer stand cabin / definitely saves space when needing to pee in the middle of the night
