You, and other Canadians and Alaskans seem to prefer winter and early spring camping. I am a spring and fall camper, but just got back from 10 days in the Midwest and had 4 ticks, and quit counting at 25 chiggers, a few mosquito bites, and had a tornado pass a half mile from us. Not my favorite trip. May be my last camp before fall, but the bugs seem to back off after a few weeks of dry hot weather, but I only camp with generator or in RV parks for the Air Conditioner in summer.
