Definition of a ghost • the soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit imagined, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons 👻
@kymmoore853 Жыл бұрын
That’ll be ‘king Alfred’s cakes’ and they only grow on dead and rotting wood. If you see a tree standing and it is covered in them don’t camp under it, especially in adverse weather, as it means the tree is dead. They are actually smokeless fuel and if you make a notch in the centre of one and light it you can carry it in your hands as a hand warmer, just blow on it every now and again.

Great video Matt, I really enjoyed that. One of my favorites places over here. As a sidenote, the murder you refer to in the 1930s was actually at another property called Lhergyrhenny, which nowadays overlooks Sulby Reservoir, on the Snaefell side. There was a manhunt all over Druidale for days and the escaped lunatic who had committed the murder (Thomas Kissack), was eventually captured in a ruined house on Druidale, eating a rabbit. Though it’s not clear which ruined property. Apparently, the phrase shouted by the arresting police officer became a local catchphrase: “Hands up, Kissack!”

It's so sad! Dancing the broom was a Pagan fertility ritual used to encourage the growth of crops. The myth of witches flying on broomstick pertained to the salves they would apply to the broom handle to be able to "take flight" or a shamanic journey as it were.

Get a Gen 3 night vision monocular and a thermal imager (I bought the pair for under £2600), and you'll never wonder what is in the woods around you and what is in the darkness. I go out into the dark woods to wildlife watch, and I know exactly what is there, if it's visible I can see it in the NV and if it emits heat then I can see it with the thermal imager. If It's neither, then is the time to worry, lol.
