Brilliant idea. Had a look into sleeping bags for dogs & whilst they might be practical as water/mud repellent they are really expensive! Will do the same thing & create one using an old mummy sleeping bag. For cold nights, Yorkie has PJs as well so this should make a big difference. What are you using under the bag?

depends what we are doing, I have a tiny tarp that we share as a ground sheet if I'm tarp camping, and a foil reflective sheet that we share on colder nights. my dog has a winter coat and a blanket that fits in the original stuff sack for the bag now that it is half the size. check out some of the videos after this one of us camping and you can see the stuff I mentioned :)
