Putting GPS Transmitters on Blue-Winged Teal (NEW RESEARCH)

Ducks Unlimited Fellowship recipient, Brett Leach, University of Missouri, is studying Blue-Winged Teal using GPS Transmitters. His research uses GPS telemetry to identify migration routes, timing of migrations, and important breeding, staging and wintering rest areas for blue-winged teal.

I just got a leg banded, backpack transmitter bluewing today. What do ya do with the transmitter? The bird banding lab website is down so cant report the band #

@@CampusWaterfowl no. Nothing. Reportband.gov website is temporarily down so I can't even report the band#. Once I can report the band # I'm sure it'll have further instruction or info on the transmitter. So far I'm the only guy I know that has a transmitter on my lanyard. For now. This little duck flies right over roads and only goes to public waters via the public access.lol
