Yes torque wins races. Horsepower impresses your friends. Torque equals HP at 5250 RPM anyway..

Torque is a a measurement of twisting force, usually measured in ft/lbs or newton metres. Hp is work done in a given time. For example 1hp is equivalent to moving 33000lbs, 1 ft in 1 minute. Or 33 lbs 1000ft in a minute, or any variation that equates to the above. People get way too bogged down with hp, torque is what you want as a day to day requirement.
