American politics is highly polarized due to the two party system. To increase strength of the middle ground is essential to international politics today. I wish BRICS every success in the future.

The reason that BRICS CAN rewrite the rules of global power is that the whole world sees that it is a huge improvement over the West's edition.

It is first of all the right of Saudi Arabia to make its own decisions. Second , no one wants a waivering member in BRICS who has doubts. This is not helping anyone and would just compromise BRICS' progress. Third: Saudi Arabia like Turkey are opportunist countries. Both in their own ways. An opportunist is a very bad strategic partner. An opportunist is only good for very small and instant deals with no long term engagement. Opportunists are not enterpreneurs and cannot enage in long term strategic initiatives. Therefor they mostly show poor performance. Yes, Saudi Arabia ist endowed with easy to pump light crude. No problem. However, Saudi Arabia lives above its means and rakes up debt quickly. Turkey has shown negative per capita growth between 2008 and 2022. A terrible performance for an emerging market. Both countries will make little progress as long as they stay opportunsts. Saudia Arabia become rich when it decided on an oil cartell strategy in the seventies and when it pushed through its strategic interests against the US empire then. Now, if SA does not find a proper self serving long term startegy it can argue and commit to it will show a sideways movement at best. However, that is exactly why it is good to have Saudi Arabia outside of BRICS. Neither as member nor as partner. This reduces the common denominator and accelerates decisions. SA clearly has a strong conflict of interest as it is tightly integrated in the US empire. Let them figure out what they want. In the mean time move forward with BRICS, regardless of doubters. Argentina, the same. It was a very bad idea to try to take in a politically highly instable country like Argentina into BRICS. The worst thing for BRICS would have been if Milei joined as the US' trojan horse. EXcellent he , openly and thoughtlessly screamed that he was out of it. Very good! The number of countries in BRICS is not important anymore, as we have now 50% of the world population. We don't need more mass, we need decision making and establishing all the required structures. And for this the 9 are just enough. BRICS' should put a stop on expansion until all key structures and agreements are signed and ratified and set up. That may take another year but then at least the platform is solid and working and irreversible.
@daksans67642 ай бұрын
Agree with you but I think BRICS should expand but not just for the sake of expanding. I believe BRICS partner program is a great way to find who can be next valuable members for the BRICS so that we don't get another Argentina or Saudi Arabia

This is a very good news. But Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Uganda joining BRICS+, and South Africa already in the BRICS+ will not help their poor people, and will not help them develop and progress if corruption is still endemic. The same applies to Zimbabwe that got low interest long term loan from the New Development Bank. But I am positive only if BRICS+ can emphasise on good governance as I have seen that African leaders listen to and respect Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin coz of their respectful and diplomatic approach in dealing with Africa leaders.

You can't have a democratic polypole system and speak with one voice of a dictator at the same time. This si what BRICS develops and evolves: a collaborative collegial model that has no monopole, no hegemon, no dictat but a rational process of decision making and communication- which is what we want. The world needs and wnats a new model and that means completely new ways of collaboration which humanity has not yet developed.
