I didn't go to the dentist for over a decade and when I went to have a teeth cleaning, the dentist had said I had two cavities that remineralized. Not in the most pretty way but fortunately they aren't all that visible. So yes, the teeth can heal. And the better your diet and oral hygene, the more likely that is to happen. My diet wasn't paleo, it actually had a fair amount of processed food, and it was a grain-heavy diet with a fair amount of processed lunchmeat and cheese, but I didn't drink sodas regularly, and no candy. Now I've moved to a vegan diet, trying to avoid added sugars, and eat more green vegetables and fruit, and less grain (mostly just rice and sourdough German fitness breads now). I hope it's still good for my teeth (it's been very good for my cholesterol levels and gut health) and I'm taking better care of them than I was through oral hygene. Sodas are really bad for your teeth. Phosphoric acid loves to eat enamel, it's bad for not just your teeth but also your bones and your kidneys. If you can make one change in your diet, giving up colas, and cutting out regular soda consumption in general, it would be a huge boost for oral health.

Paleo diet contains more vitamin K2 which is helpful for calcium absorption into dentin and bones. Egg, liver, meat have much vitamin K2 MK7, while green vegetable has much vitamin K2 MK4. Besides, other sources tell that we also need vitamin D3, vitamin A, calcium, & magnesium to boost this process. That comes to make sense now. Currently trying this diet and hopefully it'll work.

I asked my dentist once if you could get off the "watch" list or was it like the no fly list. They said it was possible, but did not seem to think it happened much. I started using the expensive flouride toothpaste (that toothpaste is amazing) and consistantly brushing after meals (and not rinsing my mouth out with water after brushing) and flossing after meals and I haven't had a cavity in a few years. I have recently started fasting and I am assuming that will be even more helpful as if I am only eating once a day and sometimes less than that, their will be less food for the bacteria to eat and that should be helpful. I am still brushing my teeth in the morning and at night even though I only eat once a day. Hopefully I can get all my teeth off the watch list and shock my dentist. Haha

Question: can anyone explain exactly how the paleo diet remineralizes your teeth?
@askthedentist4 жыл бұрын
Great question!! Paleo diet, by definition, is a diet that our ancestors ate, and that is up for debate what that really consisted of. Most will agree that it’s devoid of processed carbs and processed sugar. The lack of these ingredients is the prime reason the paleo diet is good for your teeth. There’s very little demineralization going on with this diet. Also, nutrients like K2 that are very prevalent in the paleo diet (and not so much in the western diet) are excellent for promoting tooth health.

If you want to stop further delay, read Ramiel Nagels book. You can halt 100% of decay. Me taking high mineral raw butter oil mixed with cod liver oil every meal, plus coconut oil pulling, or salt water in a water pik(high quality salt as well). That alone so far is making my transparent teeth fill in. I didn't even begin yet. And that's on top of what I'd consider a bad diet. I was just testing it out before I switched up my diet like crazy

I had root canal long back after that I had crown on my tooth but recently when I went for cleaning my dentist told me I have cavity underneath my crown is it possible and can I reverse my cavity and how please help
@mialargo93883 жыл бұрын
you may try oil pulling , for example with coconut oil for 10-20 minutes a day floss and brush after every meal preferably with non fluoride toothpaste chew on a few cloves daily especially near the cavity area squishes with saltwater or himalayan salt cut down on sugar vitamins like D3 , k2 as well as calcium might be helpful askthedentist.com/foods-heal-cavities/

I'm not a dentist, but how do you think anything is going to get underneath the crown? This is stupid. The worst part is that the dentist takes note of this and tells you, but doesn't give you a sense of what this means, because it means more money for him if you do nothing and he doesn't really care about your health. Find a new dentist and get it fixed asap because you will loose the tooth!!!!!

I have a small spot on my bottom tooth not big but only noticeable when looking in the mirror it’s now starting to worry me because Iv never had this issue can I fix it before it gets worse also my dentist is closed because of the virus going around they don’t want to risk anyone going in so I need to some how fix it at home is there anything I can do to help these dark spots to make them go away.
@askthedentist4 жыл бұрын
So hard to say. In the meantime, find a dentist that does teledentistry and take some high-quality photos of the spot (macro shots in front of an outside window) before the call. Also, start using a toothpaste with hydroxyapatite in it twice daily for 3 minute brushing sessions. Boka is the brand I use currently. Dental offices will be open soon!
@imanobody34054 жыл бұрын
Mark Burhenne, DDS thank you I’ll look around for the brand Iv been using moon I don’t know if it’s any good but says on it that it helps prevent cavity’s.

LOL. I love your videos, but this was not at all helpful. Is this paleo diet Theory even based on any science? I wish you would have at least explain the mechanism through which you think a paleo diet helps remineralize your teeth. Sounds like pseudoscience otherwise.

Agreed, it may very well be true and good advice but there's zero explanation given.
