*The way God the Holy Spirit has explained it to me is this; A true born-again Christian will never remain in perpetual sin. Yes, sometimes it may take years but they will not remain there. And every time they sin they will feel utterly horrible and miserable. They will cry out to Christ with all their being in repentance. But there is a big difference here. The born-again sinner will actually feel cut to the heart like Peter did and his whole being will be in pain. Then there's the Christian who believes they've been "born-again" and lives in sin all his life yet attends Church on Sunday and congregates.* *Living in sin means continually sinning without regard or sincere repentance. We repent but in word only. Sincere repentance means it cuts through you like a sharp blade and your whole being feels it. God is never wrong with a habitual true born-again Christian. Wrong in the sense that they will one day listen to the urging of the Spirit and turn their life around permanently. Judas Iscariot sinned deliberately and willfully. He dined with Christ after scheming with his enemies. Peter did not. With Peter it was an impulsive decision which he regretted bitterly almost immediately. Judas had days to think of his betrayal and still yet went through with it.*

Having been educated in an Armenian doctrines church (Assemblies of God) when I accepted the Lord, I did eventually fall into deep sinful lifestyle for years and years. Over those years the Lord would chime in "when are you coming back? Soon Lord." Day he yelled at me "repent NOW!" What a fearful thing. Starting attending a diff assembly when one day I was reading a scripture that at the moment convinced I could not come back into the fold. I was sooo terrified. I didn't sleep or eat for who knows how long. Talked to the pastor, he sure didn't know what the scripture meant (he should not have been a pastor). Heb 10:36 terrified me. I was a basket case. The experience traumatized me to this day! Determined, I looked in the scriptures for examples of this problem. Never did find it so I determined that one day the lord would bring it to me. Over the years I waited, fell into sin no thanks to a life long friend who was a great influencer and fake believer (I eventually dissolved the relationship). One day they hired a new guy at work. Good fellow. We talked just barely but I we understood both of us were believers. One night I went home to bed and as soon as I hit the sheets I was alone with my sins. Horrid, wretched wicked sins. Gut wrenching tears and sobs ALL NIGHT. He saw the weight all over me. After work we talked and he easily explained the scripture. It made sooo much sense. It didn't really apply to me. God kept me, not allowing me to go over that cliff of unbelief. I remember I clung to several scriptures through all the years of waiting and depression, mental torment. "Who so ever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved". I never gave up my faith. I've met the Lord. Worshiped and adored. I have known him. There's no way anyone could get me to deny his very existence. So either this scripture is true or he's a liar. (we know he's not). "All those that the Father has given me are mine, NO MAN can pluck them out of my hand"! Can I pluck myself out? (no man). Can my sin? Can you? Can the devil? (all he can do is wreck your life). However, Like I said, I've been traumatized so whenever This subject comes up, like this video, I get a bit scared. It's my understanding that when the Bible tells us that theres a danger in this, the danger is "are you sure you've accepted The work of the Lord, heard his voice, known him? When he knocked on your door, did you let him in or did you just accept him in the mudroom and said" yeah I'm eternally save....... Let's hit the bars. Are you absolutely certain you let him in your heart?

Although true, one does not always exclude the other. In fact, it’s extremely likely a life of “secret”, willful sins lead up to the “grievous” one. We’d probably never know how it happened either way though.
@terminat13 жыл бұрын
Every sin is ultimately willful. And a child of God cannot lose his salvation. Even if he or she commits grievous, willful sin every day, they can't lose their salvation. Salvation is of grace, not works... With salvation, however, God makes a person alive in his soul. The result is that the individual will want to do God's will. However, any sin that they commit is covered by Christ. They can commit the most egregious sin, but if they are saved, it means that that sin has also been paid for.

This was a very insightful talk, but I think he missed the mark on one point when he said that Peter and Judas would have be indistinguishable on the night of Jesus' suffering: There was an enormous difference in intent: Judas chose willfully to betray Jesus, whereas Peter did it in weakness when instead of prayerfully watching he was filled with pride when he denied the possibility of denying his Lord. To Peter's credit though, when the other disciples fled he stayed as near Jesus as he could. He really loved his Master.

My understanding is that those who truly have repented and accepted Christ will overcome their sins, not live by them. Just as genuine love is displayed in our behavior to others rather than what we say, so is genuine faith in God displayed by our obedience to his will rather than our own. Our works can not save us, but they *reveal* which of us is picking up their cross to follow Christ in the first place and which of us are living in hypocrisy, condemned by our own consciences. Isn't this what we are told in Romans 1:18 - 32, where it says that those who know God are without excuse for though they knew him they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude, therefore God delivered them over to the cravings of their hearts - that although they know full well God's just sentence - that those who practice such things deserve to die - they not only do them but applaud others who practice them. Likewise in Romans 2:4-11 & 2: 12 - 16? Romans 6:15-23 specifically says that Christians should not submit to sin because we then make ourselves slaves of sin leading to death even though we have been given the power to overcome our sin by God who has liberated us. 1 Corinthians 6: 9-20 and 10:13 reiterate the same. Galatians 5:16 - 25 says that if we walk by the Spirit, we will not carry out the desire of the flesh (sin) and that the fruit of the Spirit is also self-control, that those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires and that since we live by the Spirit, we must follow the Spirit. Now he is right that it is not for us to judge who deserves heaven or hell for by the same measure we judge we will also be judged (Romans 2: 1,2) *but this question appeared to be about salvation generally not a specific person's salvation* and therefore, I think deserved a more direct, clear answer than the one shown here which was not inaccurate, but seemed a bit watered down.
@mikerutkowski72653 жыл бұрын
You are heading in the right direction since there are many deceived believers who will take a scripture like 1 John 8-10 and they will twist its meaning to claim that a believer can never stop sinning. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” I John 1:8-10 NKJV They are so lost and misguided that they believe that this scripture means that a believer will always sin and they cannot comprehend that this scripture is simply stating that everyone is born a sinner. It is saying that this is why we need to repent and confess our sins to God so that He will then forgive us. It is also stating that anyone who believes that they have never sinned is then calling God a liar. But nowhere is it saying that a believer will always sin as some apparently desire to believe. There is not one scripture that ever states that a Christian will always continue to sin. Only wicked evil people believe that a Christian can never stop sinning and that God will just forgive them for all the sins that they commit. Now really think about this for a moment. A Christian is someone who is a follower of Christ which means they are supposedly living a sin free life just as Jesus did, but yet most believers are stating that scripture is relating to them that they can never stop sinning! There are many scriptures that use terms like, do not sin, has died to sin, has ceased from sin, cannot keep on sinning and cannot sin. All of these terms are used when describing a follower of Christ but yet most believers think that they can never stop sinning. So here is what the majority of believers are clearly missing. Yes we are all born in sin and we have all sinned but this does not mean that a Christian can never stop sinning. Jesus came to forgive us of the sins that we have already committed and this occurs at the moment that we repent of our sins and we accept Jesus and His Holy Spirit into our life. Once we receive His Holy Spirit we were then commanded to surrender our will to God so that we would allow the Spirit to sanctify our heart in God’s truth. Sadly this is where the majority of believers fail and go astray because they never allow this process to occur since they do not understand how to test the Spirits as instructed in 1 John 4. This lost majority of believers mistakenly believe that they will always sin and that Jesus will just forgive them as long as they keep repenting. They clearly do not understand that when scripture commands us to overcome and to be Holy that this is stating that we are to stop sinning, to overcome sin. I myself am someone who understands how to communicate directly with Jesus and He himself has taught me His truth over these last six plus years. I have now been sanctified in His truth and I am now truly born of God. This means that I can no longer sin and I now live righteously. And because I do not sin the devil can no longer touch me with his sickness and diseases like this Coronavirus. And if you really knew scripture you would know that sin is the reason that people get sick or have disabilities. “Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”” John 5:14 NKJV “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” I John 5:18 NKJV “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” I Peter 1:15-16 NKJV “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48 NKJV “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21 NKJV “And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:6-8 NKJV He who overcomes will inherit all things but anyone who continues in sin will only take part in the lake of fire. So if you do not overcome sin then you will never experience a sick free life in this evil world. And if you have never truly experienced the long and hard sanctification process of the Holy Spirit and overcome sin then you are definitely misguided in your beliefs and you are traveling a road that only leads to destruction. “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” I John 3:4-9 NKJV So scripture clearly states that whoever sins does not know God. Whoever sins is also of the devil. Whoever abides in God and is born of God cannot sin and does not sin, this explains someone like myself. Anyone who believes that they can never stop sinning is simply a lost soul who does not understand a thing about scripture or the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind. They clearly followed false prophets like these delusional souls in this video and they did not follow and learn from Jesus as He commanded.
@AliceinJapanaland3 жыл бұрын
@@mikerutkowski7265 all of us can communicate directly with God through prayer and his word with the Holy Spirit. If you mean something else, let me warn you that I am immediately suspicious of anyone who claims they can physically hear the voice of God since all I have to go by is their claims without any evidence and we have been warned of false prophets (Romans 16:17, 18) As for sin causing disease, the scriptures do say this, but Jesus himself tells his disciples that *not all disabilities and diseases are caused by sin* as in the case of the man born blind who Jesus heals. Jesus tells us some are stricken with disease so that they may glorify God (John 9:1 - 3) and it is speculated that Paul also may have had some ongoing sickness or disability which he calls a thorn that God will not remove from him despite his prayers and says that he knows it has been given to him so that he may not become inflated with pride (2 Corinthians: 5 - 10). So if you have heard from Jesus directly (by which I assume you mean without the use of your bible), he would have explained these things to you just as God has done in the scripture. A spirit that contradicts God's word is not from God and never can be from God.
@mikerutkowski72653 жыл бұрын
@@AliceinJapanaland well I am really disappointed since you just proved that you are just one of the many lost and deceived souls. Your reply certainly proved that you are completely ignorant of both God and scripture and that is why you are not one of His sheep and that is why you cannot hear His voice. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27 NKJV Next it is your ignorant soul who is contradicting the word of God and you proved as much with your twisted and misguided beliefs. Some ignorant people like yourself foolishly claim that God allows people to get sick in order to display His glory and they often use the scripture in John 9 about the man being born blind. So here is what you and many like yourself do not understand about sin and sickness in scripture. The disciples already knew that sin was the reason that the man was born blind but they wanted Jesus to pinpoint who’s sin actually caused the blindness. Jesus did not desire to pinpoint who’s sin caused the disability to His disciples and so He simply made a generalization statement that told them how things were going to turn out so that God could be glorified. Just ask yourself this question. Why would a God who loves you and who desires to heal you want to make you sick to begin with? Scripture tells us the reason why a child may be born blind, sick or whatever. It was because the parents were not following what God commanded of them and so they were living in sin. When parents live in sin they then give Satan and his demons the ability to infect their children with whatever sickness or disability they desire. What foolish doctors like to call hereditary or genetics is actually nothing more then a parent’s sins being passed onto their children through a demon spirit. Look here: “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:6-7 NKJV Many foolishly believe that Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a sickness and these people clearly prove that they do not understand God or scripture. What does a thorn in the flesh do? Well it causes pain and suffering. Just as Jesus suffered in the wilderness by being tempted by Satan, Jesus then allowed Satan to tempt Paul in order to make him stronger in the Holy Spirit. If Paul was able to remove the sickness from everyone who came to him then what could possibly make anyone think that he was someone who had sickness in his life? Couldn’t Paul just remove the sickness from himself as he did with those who came to him for healing? Plus if Paul was bitten by a venomous snake and yet it did no harm to him, how could anyone possibly believe that Paul was someone who could then get sick himself? Many people are very misguided when it comes to their understanding of scripture and they do not understand that an infirmity means a physical weakness or ailment and it is not an actual sickness. “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” II Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV Now allow me to give you two other scriptures that misguided souls often like to use. (1 Timothy 5:23 and Galatians 4:13.) Realize that most of these people are probably reading from a bible version that has translated the word infirmity into meaning a sickness. Look here: “Don’t drink only water. You ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often.” 1 Timothy 5:23 NLT “No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.” I Timothy 5:23 NKJV “Surely you remember that I was sick when I first brought you the Good News.” Galatians 4:13 NLT “You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first.” Galatians 4:13 NKJV There are over 2000 different bible versions that all have different words with different meanings and this is what is leading many of you astray. Once again, an infirmity means a physical weakness but yet certain bible versions have translated this to mean a sickness. This is why the only truthful way for you to gain your knowledge of scripture is to learn it directly from Jesus Himself. Next, some misguided soul said to me that scripture clearly states that God makes people sick and they offered this scripture below: “The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:11-12 NIV So if you read this version of the Bible, yes it does state that God makes human beings blind, deaf or mute. But know I want to give you another Bible version and show you how it reads: “So the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” Exodus 4:11-12 NKJV When you read this version it is not stating that God made them mute, deaf or blind but that God made the individual, whether they were someone who was deaf, mute or blind. God is not saying that He inflicted the disability on them. God loves you and He wants you to be healthy for He is the God who heals you. So once again, why would a loving God who loves you and heals you want to make you sick? And finally, someone stated that they believe that God does heal but that His healing was not for everyone. Again this person and their logic makes absolutely zero sense. Scripture clearing states that we are not to show partially or favoritism and that to do so is a sin. So why would God then sin by showing favoritism or partiality by picking and choosing who He desires to heal? Jesus healed everyone who came to Him for healing and His apostles also did the same. “And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, AND THEY WERE ALL HEALED.” Acts 5:14-16 NKJV So I have now given you many examples of how misguided believers are and how they cannot comprehend that God’s healing is for everyone! Most simply will not accept the truth that it is sin that brings sickness into their lives and this is why they are destined to spend a very long eternity in hell. Psalm 107:17. “Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.” Know what this means? First transgression, it means an act that goes against a rule, a law or a code of conduct. Next iniquity, it means a wicked act or thing, sin. Finally, affliction, it means something that causes persistent pain or suffering. Translated it is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness. Now go back and reread the Exodus 34 scripture above and maybe you might begin to understand why it is sin that allows sickness into your life and the life of your children. “Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”” John 5:14 NKJV

@@mikerutkowski7265 yes, of course scripture shows that some sickness is the result of sin but it also shows that not all sickness is. I dispute your interpretation of the blind man's story - Jesus clearly says neither this man nor his parents sinned. To twist that into meaning something else so it suits your preferred understanding without any biblical proof is a perversion of God's word. Be careful - there are penalties for misrepresenting God's word (Galatians 5:8-10). What is a physical infirmity besides a disability or sickness? Physical infirmity does not mean a weakness of the Spirit or of the mind, but of the body. And to answer your question - why would a god who loves and wants to heal allow sickness - Jesus himself answers that question in the case of the blind man and Paul answers it in his own case: to glorify God. Paul attributes the thorn he was given as preventing him from becoming inflated with pride and thereby able to serve God's people in love as we are all called to do. Pastor Justin Peters has cerebral palsy and I doubt he would blame his inability to be healed of it on his parent's sins but would agree with Paul on this point. His suffering has even allowed him to speak out of his own personal experience against false teachers in the emergent, prosperity gospel type of churches who claim they can heal people. This is just one example of how physical infirmity can and does bring glory to God. Finally, I do not say either that God causes all sicknesses in this fallen world - for we are born behind enemy lines into a broken world and therefore our bodies also suffer. Likewise, your way of admonishing those you disagree with and broadly saying that all who disagree with your interpretation are unsaved strikes me as not only false but also unloving and brings Galatians 5: 13 - 15 and 26 to mind. Your words demonstrate a sense of pride and conceit. *It is not for you to determine who is saved and who is not - that is for God himself. Be careful lest you make yourself equal with God in your own mind.* Matthew 7:1,2; Romans 14:10 - 13. Remember James 2:13, " For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. "and James 1:26, 27, "If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." Judging other believers ought to be restricted to what you can see of their actions - if they live in habitual sin, for example, and require *loving* admonishment so they may correct their behavior and return to walk rightly with the Lord. (Matthew 7: 3-6) but you appear to judge broadly with a willingness to condemn all those who do not submit to your preferred understanding of scripture, not to bring people into correct understanding with God. Your way of speaking would not convince anyone to listen to you even if what you had to say was perfectly correct. I also refute your idea that KJV is the only bible translation that is accurate. That is not supported by scholars of Hebrew or Greek who do the work of translation and it is not supported when you compare KJV with other reputable translations and see that the meanings of the passages remain the same as you yourself demonstrated in your comment above. Finally: I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. - 1 Corinthians 4:3-5

@@mikerutkowski7265 We can never stop sinning in the flesh it's the immortal soul that stops sinning when we get saved because it's our immortal soul that gets saved. We get spiritually circumcised when we get saved and that makes the soul a new creature in God's eyes that no longer sins despite the fact that in the flesh we still sin. You see when we were unsaved our sins got charged to our immortal souls and those sins corrupted our immortal souls, but when we got saved our immortal souls were washed clean of the corruption due to sin and now our immortal souls are shielded from the continued sins that the flesh commits and so the charging of sin remains upon the flesh and no longer corrupts the immortal soul.

It was crucial to my repentance of sin knowing that I wasn't going to heaven if I continued in it and that's not a fact you want to just tiptoe around for people with ambiguity, because there is no ambiguity in scripture. If you let ambiguity on this matter take hold in people's minds often it's viewed as a license. By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil

There are many deceived believers who will take a scripture like 1 John 8-10 and they will twist its meaning to claim that a believer can never stop sinning. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” I John 1:8-10 NKJV They are so lost and misguided that they believe that this scripture means that a believer will always sin. They cannot comprehend that this scripture is simply stating that everyone is born a sinner. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” I John 3:4-9 NKJV So scripture clearly states that whoever sins does not know God, so that is you. Whoever sins is of the devil, that is also then you! Whoever abides in God and is born of God cannot sin and does not sin, this is me! Anyone who believes that they can never stop sinning is simply a lost soul who does not understand a thing about scripture or the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. The reason many never enter into a over coming life as they're religious and not born again. None of us can serve 2 masters.There must be a transformation of the heart. Only Jesus can do the work and most of the work that's done in the life of a born again believer is by way of the cross. Yes it's a cross of suffering. As the enemy will attack all those the are godly in Christ. They will suffer in many different ways. But what it produces is a heart and mind that are totally sold out for Christ. God hates sin and if we love the Lord we're going to fight against sin and we will not give place to the devil. we have a choice who are we going to serve? Our flesh or the Lord? Once saved always is a false doctrine that's taught by men who want to continue in sin. We're call to be holy as He is holy. Were to walk in perfection by the power of the Holy Spirit. we can overcome! But the question is do we really want too. those that give up this life for their love for Jesus will overcome and they will walk in power and will shine as bright lights as a witness to the world. We're not compromise with the world! We're called to overcome! Jesus said we must endure to the end and if we do we will be saved. Follow Jesus not men/women. We must know the voice of the Lord for ourselves. How can we follow him if we don't know His voice. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice. Are you hearing the voice of Jesus and are you obeying Him? Sadly many have fallen away from the faith as they look and trust in the words of men and not Jesus. LETS FORSAKE ALL FOR CHRIST!!! JESUS IS THE WAY ! IT'S NOT THROUGH MAN-MADE RELIGION ! IT'S A DEEP PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP THAT GOD DESIRES TO HAVE WITH EACH ONE OF US. WHERE IN THE New Testament DID JESUS EVER SAY 1. TO FOLLOW MEN/WOMEN(TRUST IN WHAT TEY DO AND SAY INSTEAD OF HIM?). 2 THAT ALL GOD WANTED WAS 10% TITHE ? DIDN'T JESUS GIVE 100% ? DID HIS DECIPLES GIVE 10%? NO THEY LEFT EVERYTHING AND GAVE ALL 100% THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT COST TO GET TO HEAVEN. NOTHING LESS WILL DO! The Bible teaches that a person can recieve salvation and then exercise choice and freewill in rejecting Christ and forfeiting their salvation by choosing a life of sin. This is seen clearly on multiple occasions in Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, James, 1&2 Timothy, Titus, Hebrews, Matthew, 1 John, Jude, John, 2 Peter. "Once saved always saved" is a false and unbiblical teaching. However although I disagree with the background reasoning and premise of what he says, he is right to say that Grace remains God's free gift and that we are not in a position to judge another person's eternal salvation, though we are called to watch over, admonish and encourage eachother when we see sin in eachother life's, but this is not the same as casting eternal judgement and these two positions are often confused.

That said, I also don't think that people can simply stumble into sin, slide away and in so doing lose their salvation. I believe the Bible teaches something between the two where people can voluntarily forfeit their salvation by exercising freewill and rejecting Christ.

@@BUNJI82 The majority of churches do believe you can lose your salvation, just not reformed churches. Armenian churches believe it can be lost along with most other progressive churches. Ferguson is firmly in the reformed camp so my comment is not to debate eternal security but to question why he didn't answer it simply based on his reformed perspective. Should not have devulged into debating whether we can determine anything. Our judgement doesn't mean a thing in another person's salvation. In scripture it always says to repent of your sins, return to God and come clean to him. He is the only one who can Justify us.
@labae87283 жыл бұрын
Jesus nor the apostles ever said “repent of your sin” tell me where in the bible says those words? Only “repent” alone is said throughout the bible and repent in Greek is “metanoia” which means to “change your mind” when you repent, you go from unbelieving to believing the Gospel. There is a difference when you add “of your sins” because this becomes a “work” when it pertains to salvation. Meaning you trust in your own way that when you repent each and ever sin in your life, you will be saved and that is false. You should only trust in the FINISHED redemptive work of Christ on the cross. Do not set aside the grace of God. Tell me did Jesus die for ALL of your sins or just some? Because when u “repent of your sin” in relation to eternal salvation, you are despising the power of Jesus Christ and saying that He didnt die for all of your sins; past, present and future. And no this is not an excuse to sin rampantly because that is a misunderstanding of the grace of God. Now dont get me wrong, repenting of sins is a good thing but we only do this BECAUSE we are already saved and secured. When we repent of our sin, it helps boost the process of the sanctification of the Holy Spirit in us to help us live a more holy life for His glory and not of our own. Repenting (changing your mind) and believing are two sides of the same salvific coin and happen simultaneously when you trust in Christ as Lord and Savior ALONE.

I need help! For the last year my wife is stuck in the thought process that those that are not saved will get a second chance after being cast into the lake of fire. Yes I have showed her many verses that state once you have faced the second death you are done for but my wife keeps bringing up verses that state Jesus loves us all and want us all to be with him. We are a sinful nation and need repentance but we have to truly confess to God and the spirit that lives within us helps to profess these things to others. The spirit will guide those that want to listen but once you are getting your second death your ears don't hear.

@@TheMiker0000 Amen! She is right, God doesn’t want any to perish. 2 Peter 3:9 - “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward , not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. “ Of course this repentance is while we are still living. How can we repent and turn from sin if we have already died? You can’t turn from sin and turn toward Christ after your life has ended. In this case, the person has not had a second death, they only had one death, the death of the mortal body. They never died with Christ and became born again. You cannot be born again once your mortal body has died. I hope what I wrote makes sense. I hope she will understand Hebrews 9:27. And Revelation 2:11 says “...He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” We have to overcome during this life. We must be born again. We must pick up our cross daily. We get one physical life on earth and then the judgment. That is my best understanding. Blessings to you brother in Christ!
@TheMiker00003 жыл бұрын
@@blackeneddove I agree but the more I study the more I try to put this together. The second death is our spiritual death because we can't have flesh beyond the grave because flesh ceases to be soluble. I think it means our whole dies on ce because scripture specifically states we are dead in our transgressions so spiritually we are dead unless we are born again not say we are born again and then turn away but truly born again. The spiritual death before being born again is the first part of death the second comes from your flesh death.Together that makes one whole because we are one person spirit and body. When we are born again we avoid the second death does this make sense. I like to have conversations with people on things like these but most of the people that I talk to are my wife and mother-in-law who get extremely heated and my brother-in-law who is involved with Calvinism and argues with me about things. 'The Lord Lord but didn't we do this or that in Your Name people' & Yeshua will say GET AWAY FROM ME YOU WHO WORK LAWLESSNESS. I NEVER KNEW YOU. The works must be righteousness and that is God's Law lived by grace....forgiveness for the repentant humble teachable heart. Anyone for Sabbath & Passover??? Feast of unleavened Bread, Shavuot, Day of Trumpets, Day of Atonement Sukkot or the Eighth Day.. ALL Sabbaths of God NOT the Jews. Christians don't attend to the fourth commandment and are missing works of righteousness. Their faith has mixtures that are foreign to Yeshua. Messiah keeps the Feasts which are Sabbaths of God. The Rev 14:12 says we NEED BOTH faith in Yeshua and the commandments of God. 1John 3:4 tells us what sin is & the repentance Christ preached was to return to God's Commandments so as to stop sinning. Following doctrines of men which oppose God's commandments is just what the Pharisees did in some of the oral Torah exactly THE SAME as some church traditions....makes a person twice as worthy of hell because they claim to KNOW God whilst dismissing His Righteous intructions to humanity to live before Him by faith in His mercy to atone for the times when we fail to stay on the Narrow Path. However, in 2014 he and my sister locked up my mom, wouldn't let the rest of us siblings see her, then drained her estate, and then mom died. In addition, he destroyed personal property that we other siblings had at our mom's house (for example, I had an Schwin AirDyne which he took apart, broke the insides, then put back together again; he also shredded some clothing I had made for my mom, and destroyed a lot of another brother's property). After being in court for a long time, we lost everything. Our judge knew the 2 were liars and thieves, but on the last day when the settlement was to take place, we had an unrighteous judge who refused to read the evidence. These 2 siblings got away with everything. So, HOW CAN MY BROTHER POSSIBLY BE SAVED AND COMMIT SUCH A GRIEVOUS SIN AND BETRAYAL AGAINST THE FAMILY? Yes, of course I sin, too. But I am constantly repenting, constantly examining myself, and constantly making myself accountable (I'm in a women's small group). Not sure why that would be but lets go with it. How long does a person have to continue in sin before it qualifies as "living in sin"? More than 9 months I suppose, since King David didn't repent until after his bastard child was born. Which the Apostle Paul says is carried in earthen vessels (2 Cor 4:7) and can be weakened and lost. Keep in mind that Paul told the Christians of his day “If we have died with in Baptism (see Rm 6:3-4) we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him” (2 Tim 2:11-12). Paul is emphatic that Christians must cooperate with Grace and live a life of Charity if they wish to be saved (see entire Book of Romans). What redeemed us, and merited salvation was the perfect love and obedience the Son showed the Father by accepting suffering and death (Phil 2:5-9). ALL of mankind has been redeemed, even souls in ...., but not all souls are saved. We are already redeemed, but not fully. The idea that I can be saved and be bad is like say that I am sick and healed at the same time.

I confused about never saved. The person that was never saved, does that apply to there entire life? Say they answered an alter call, we’re Baptized and responded to the Grace given them, with every virtue and just conformed their life to Christ’s at say 20 years old. But at 40 they had great suffering and lost their Faith and went bad. So if they passed away at 21 were they still damned? Or just if they passed away at 41!

I meant was the person ever saved? Was he bearing fruit (John 15), at one time in his life? And then withered later in his life and was pruned by the vine keeper (God)?

I am really curious about what is meant by ‘never saved’. I understand that God is not bound by time so he knows how our life goes before we are born. Is that what you mean by never saved? I am just wondering if this person was ever in a state of Grace in their life, or are they damned at all points in their life; meaning free will played no part?

1 Corinthians 6:9 lists a bunch of sins, when committed on a regular basis, will damn a soul to hell. But the question I ask is what about addictions? It says the drunkard will not inherit the Kingdom of God but what about the alcoholic who loves the Lord and stops drinking only to be driven back to it by his addiction? What about the person who accepted Christ and still maintains his zeal for Christ but has a porn addiction that he acquired prior to getting saved and that he still gives into? Addictions are very difficult to shake. People might say that if these souls truly accepted Christ, Christ would have set them free from all that, but I think that’s too simplistic of a concept because Jesus also turned water into wine. Do you see that happen anymore and you’ve got to ponder the question as to when does God’s good grace kick in? Since I don’t have a porn or alcohol addiction and will go to heaven, what provision of grace has God granted me compared to that of my weaker brethren who are addicted to these things?

Granted, Jesus is the Judge in the end. But there are plenty of warnings against sin addressed to the church, that challenges the authenticity of faith. We ought to be very careful about giving such allowance when the scripture really doesn't.

Amen. Cut your right hand if it causes you to sin, it's better to go in heaven without a hand than your whole to be thrown in hell. Once Saved Always Saved is nothing more than a license to sin and abuse God's grace. The blind lead the blind and then they both fall.

What does scripture say? That is what must be listened to, not what any human being thinks will or will not happen to someone. What did Christ say would happen when He was lifted up on the cross? (John 12:32) Whom did Paul say would be saved ? (1Tim 4:10) Who can come to Christ to be granted repentance?(John 6:44) Not to say that any ones life would be easily saved, that is to say without much chastisement through fiery trials and judgements, but all will be saved. God does not fail, and God is not an abortionist. God does not lie nor does He send anyone to the fabled hell hole that Christianity borrowed from paganism. God is love, and He is all powerful, and all things are possible for God to accomplish. Scripture confirms this to be true. He will do all His will, and His will is that all will be saved, as God does not will that any be eternally annihilated, though many will perish for an age or so. God kills and God makes alive again.(Deut 32:39 and 1 Sam 2:6).so be it. Everyone will be saved in there own time and order that God has designated for each of His creatures being made into His image and likeness. That is the truth according to the Word of God, Jesus Christ.

None of us should ever think, no matter to what level we grow to in holiness, that we are not all sinning and falling short EVERYDAY in one way or another. Even these men. It's great pride that thinks we all have moved passed sinning or that any of us aren't capable of falling to a "big" sin anymore. All sin great or small is sin against God, and just one is enough to separate us from God, except that He decided to forgive us and not hold it against us by having Jesus pay for it. We dont have a license to sin so we fight to stop through the Lord. That's everyday. His mercy on us is His decision He made and the work of Jesus we put all our hope in, not our holiness growth. Out love and thankfulness to Him we obey and He grows us.

You said, *"None of us should ever think, no matter to what level we grow to in holiness, that we are not all sinning and falling short EVERYDAY in one way or another."* How about a person who agrees that this is their experience as a new creation in Christ? *1 John 3:6, 9* 6 Whoever abides in Him [Jesus] *does not sin.* Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 9 Whoever has been born of God *does not sin,* for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. Do you believe someone should never think that these scriptures are talking about a real experience? Why never talk about *freedom from sin* or having died to sin to live to righteousness? (John 8:34-36, Romans 6:7, Romans 6:18, 22, 1 Peter 2:24). It's like the ignored elephant in the room in most Christian discussions when it comes to sin. The one thing that blows this idea of ongoing sin out of the water is what gets ignored as if the Bible encouraged such a thing. Is freedom from sin something you relate to, as in sin no longer having power over you because you are not under the law but under grace (Romans 6:14)?

@@yestothetruth I wasn't saying we don't experience victory over sin. But that before Holy God we are all still sinning in some way. We can't walk perfectly sinless. Read 1 John 1:8-10. Also, why would we need a Advocate, faith and His grace if we were able to reach sinless perfection on this side? Victories yes, sinlessness No. Growing in Holiness yes. I think it would be pride that would say I've arrived, I walk sinlessly and pride is a sin. It's all of faith, all God's grace and His decision to forgive us, His work in growing us as we try to work with Him. I think that's so because look how prideful we would be if we thought we achieved it, not eben Paul says he arrived. Romans 7, Paul calls himself a wretched man that is currently IS, that there is war going on inside him and that He does the very thing He doesn't want to do. Anyway I'm really not trying to do a Bible battle with you. We all can read what the Bible says and it doesn't say we will achieve sinless perfection but that we will not remain habitually sinning as the world does. If we get to a point where we think we don't need the great Advocate, or to come to throne of Grace anymore, to not daily forgive other brothers and sisters as we have been forgiven clearly showing sinless perfection is not meant here, if we think we have made it to the top of the 2 Peter moral excellence mountain and now we are just waiting to die or Jesus's return, that we don't need to confess our sins because we don't sin, and have our feet daily washed by Jesus, I think we should watch out because a big and painful fall could happen to us when we do sin. There is always room to grow more. I hope this helps explain what I meant better. 1 Corinthians 10:12

@@taralanger9279 Thanks for your reply. I am not trying to do a Bible battle with you either, but the scriptures can't hurt us. Only our attitudes can cause damage. It's enough already that we have a common enemy and his lies to battle against. Anyway, in all you said, you have decided to focus on this idea of "sinless perfection," and the Bible doesn't even try to make people obsess about rejecting it. And the one point of *"freedom from sin"* that I have raised and that the Bible is very clear about, you have totally ignored it. What is left, I am afraid, is some kind of gray area where many shades of ongoing, especially deliberate sins, can exist in the life of a person "in Christ." By deliberate sins, I just mean knowing right from wrong and keeping on making the choice to do wrong/sin and not taking the sure way of escape that God gives when a temptation comes (1 Corinthians 10:13). If people in such a situation aren't real Christians, that's that, and if true Christians are in that same situation because they are backslidden, they need to come out of their very unsecure position in Christ and be zealous and repent like Jesus said to the church of Laodicea (Revelation 3:16-19) and the other backslidden ones. There is no real holiness or increase of that going on if there is not a foundation of freedom from sin to start with (Romans 6:16-19). Jesus is looking for a pure bride, not a bride who is going to have any reason to boast about "sinless perfection." And his blood was sufficient to redeem scarlet sinners and bring them to a godly, righteous and holy life that He is pleased with; there is no place for pride in something that's only possible because of the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). And there is no place for fear of becoming prideful by accident either. That comes from the basis of having received grace in humility to begin with, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Ephesians 5:25-27 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as *Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.* Colossians 1:21-23 21 And you, who *once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,* 22 he has *now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,* 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. Revelation 19:7-8 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and *his wife has made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.* The focus of the servants of God is their service to God through being obedient to Him out of love. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome. 1 Peter 1:14-16 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” OK, I think I have expressed what I believe the mindset and focus and life of a servant of God should be in this hour. However, I wholly disagree that Romans 7 is the struggle of "apostle Paul" / the new man _in Christ_ (supposedly) who keeps on doing wrong/sin when he wants to do right. And 1 John 1:8 also, the way you use it, only works to keep you in a mindset of being trapped in sin somehow _in Christ._ But freedom in Christ doesn't go together with that. Really, that is no small thing. I would gladly clarify my stance further on these points only if you like, using the scriptures but not in a spirit of doing any battle. Otherwise, I thank you again for your time.

@@yestothetruth I'm not sure what you're searching for because I believe in grace and the sanctification work of the Holy Spirit, and needing to confess our sins that we still do in our walk and needing that at all points of our walk with Christ, all things the Bible says, and I feel like what I am trying to express is being twisted, and I'm being told what attitude I have in my heart when I wrote biblical truth?

The title and description don't match. The title is "deep sin" that is a life of sin. Perpetual, rebellious, repetitious. The description is "commit a grievous sin" singular. Look no further than Peter after 3 years with Christ he denied Him. Pretty grievous. Particularly when Jesus said "deny me before men and I will deny you before my father.". Obviously the distinction is important.

None of us is worthy to enter the Kingdom of God, and NOBODY who enters the eternal Kingdom of God will enter by their own righteousness. Jesus Christ alone is worthy, and Jesus Christ is the only righteousness we have, and the only reason we can enter the Kingdom of God is because we have been baptized INTO CHRIST through the new birth, being born again of Christ’s Holy Spirit, which has yoked our spirit with the Holy Spirit of Christ, and His righteousness is our righteousness BY FAITH. The scriptures say that both the faith to believe, and repentance, are GIFTS OF GOD to us, and are not by our own works. Luke 18 paints a clear picture of the justified who will enter the Kingdom of God, and those who are unjustified and will be cast into Hell. Two men entered the temple to pray to God, a Pharisee, and a Publican. The Pharisee prayed to God, saying “I thank you God that I’m not like other men are, who are extortionists, unjust, adulterers, and even that Publican over there, that I am not like him. I keep all the commands, I tithe of all that I own, and I fast twice a week”. The Publican, standing afar off from the Pharisee, would not even lift his eyes towards Heaven. Instead, the Publican struck himself upon the chest, saying “God, be merciful to me, A SINNER”, Luke 18:10-14. Jesus said only the Publican walked away justified, and everyone who exalts himself will be cast down, and every man who humbles himself will be exalted. This should bring Matthew 7 to your mind, and those who say to Jesus “Lord, Lord, MANY GREAT WORKS have WE DONE in Your Name. WE HAVE cast out demons, WE HAVE prophesied in Your name, WE HAVE done GREAT WORKS”, and Jesus will say to them, “Depart from Me ye workers of iniquity, I NEVER KNEW YOU”, Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus precedes saying this by saying only those who do the will of His Father will enter the Kingdom of God, and we will know them by their fruits. The Bible defines the will of Father YHVH as being that we BELIEVE ON the Son, Jesus Christ, whom the Father sent to be the substitutionary atonement for our sins, to die in our place on the cross for the payment of OUR SINS, and BY BELIEVING ON WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR US TO PAY FOR OUR SINS IN FULL, we can become the righteousness of God IN CHRIST. Therefore, the good works that come from our salvation are NOT OUR WORKS, and we are not boasting of the great works WE HAVE DONE in Jesus’ name, but OUR BOAST IS IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and HIS GREAT WORKS that He has done through us, using us as a vessel to do HIS MIGHTY WORKS. We have done nothing great, only God does great works THROUGH US, so our boast is in Him and HIS GREAT WORKS, not ours. Those people who Jesus says He never knew are just like the Pharisee in Luke 18, bragging about how righteous they are, trying to be justified by the works THEY HAVE DONE, claiming the works that JESUS CHRIST HAS DONE through them are actually THEIR WORKS that THEY DID in Jesus’ name. They’re not our works, all good works a born again believer in Christ does are GOD’S WORKS, THE WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT that lives in us. We boast on Jesus Christ and His great works, because the works of the Holy Spirit THROUGH using us as a vessel ARE NOT OUR WORKS. Jesus does not know these people because they are not born again of His Holy Spirit, and Romans 8:9 clearly says YOU ARE NOT CHRIST’S unless you are born again of His Holy Spirit. Therefore, Jesus does not know anyone who is not born again of His Holy Spirit into the family of YHVH, because to enter the eternal Kingdom of God, Jesus says YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN, John 3:3. There’s absolutely nothing Holy or righteous about me apart from the righteous and Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ that dwells in me. Repentance is having godly sorrow for your sins and trusting in Jesus to help you fight your fleshly lusts, it’s not declaring you never commit sin. It’s understanding, as the Publican did, that you are an unworthy sinner who is only saved by God’s mercy and grace, and not by boasting of how much more righteous you are than other people, like the Pharisee. The Pharisee was boasting on himself, and how he wasn’t a sinner like that Publican, how he was justified by his works, so his faith was not in Jesus Christ to save him, his faith was in his own works for salvation. The Pharisee believed his keeping the law made him righteous, he did not praise God for being merciful to save him, no, the Pharisee praised himself. If you are not born again, you’re not saved. And if you are born again, the works you do ARE NOT YOUR WORKS, they are the works of God THROUGH you, so boast on God, Jesus Christ, and not yourself. It’s only by the power of Christ living in us through His Holy Spirit that we are able to live godly and resist sin. His indwelling Holy Spirit is what makes us Holy and justifies us through the faith and repentance that are His gifts to us. No one is righteous, no one seeks to know God, which is why we need to be born again and we need Jesus to put Himself, His Holy Spirit, IN US and SEAL US AS HIS ADOPTED CHILD, because apart from Christ indwelling us through His Holy Spirit, we have no righteousness of our own. Therefore, no one enters the Kingdom of God by their own righteousness, by boasting of their great works. The only ones who enter the Kingdom of God are those who acknowledge their sins and that they are not righteous in any way, but the Holy Spirit of Christ that lives in them because they have been born again by faith into the family of YHVH is the only righteousness they have. Boast in Jesus Christ and HIS righteousness.
