I converted mine to run off Milwaukee 18v tool batteries. Super portable now. Great for camping and ice fishing.
@donnyrichard677411 күн бұрын
How many hours out of a 5.0 Milwaukee battery? Can you tell how to connect it?
@sw533411 күн бұрын
@ running full chooch my 12.0 gives about 6-7 hours. But full chooch is pretty hot and I usually turn it way down. My 5.0 batteries are all pretty old. From 2016 so not a fair comparison. I pass the battery through a 24v to 12v voltage regulator to run the heater. But you also have to have the unit turn off before it kills the battery to far and toasts the battery. So I have another unit watch the batteries voltage and before it gets too low I have it shut off the fuel pump, then the heater sends an error code and does the complete shut down/cool down process and that protects both the heater and battery.
@Maritimer9 күн бұрын
Yep I think my battery is old, I go the Error code #01 yesterday which is the power source. so I may look for a 120vAC to 12vDC converter and plug it into the wall, no more worrying about a battery,.

Wish you had of measured the temperature coming out of the vent. Anyway I appreciate the video. It was very thorough. I’m liking going to buy one. I have a F-150 with a mid rise cap that is insulated. 6.5 foot bed. If I purchase one I’m going to leave the unit outside to alleviate the noise. Also super easy to slide a window open and put a plate in there with a hole for the output hose. I already own a couple of Eco Flow solar generators perfectly capable of running the heater for long periods. And an EU2000 Honda to charge them should I be out disperse camping for well, a long time. Again thanks man. I appreciate your time.

Hey Gary, I actually don't own a heat gun, I really should pick one up for this type of thing. Cheers!

I have one that we use in our fish house in winter. If you have an infrared thermometer, shoot it at the exhaust 6-700f. For this reason you may want to widen the plywood hole to have about an inch around the pipe. Your other choice would be to get high temp glass wool and pack around the exhaust to isolate the wood. Don’t ever touch that exhaust, instant skin melt.

Hey thanks man ! I was thinking of getting an exhaust wrap, so thanks for the tips ! Appreciate it man.

Nice and compact, and seems to keep the shed warm enough for you. Only issue... if you could move that ticking fuel pump outside (or get something else internally), then it would be perfect lol. Best to have air intake outside, a few feet away from the exhaust.
@Maritimer8 күн бұрын
Hey why is that?
@stevehopper60687 күн бұрын
@@Maritimer Rubicon Roamers is an HVACR guy and he has a great diesel heater installation video that explains why you should put the air intake outside. Basically it makes the heater more efficient by not sucking in cold outside air into the room you are trying to heat.
@cliffnelson285013 күн бұрын
I think that the air inlet should be ran outside just like the exhaust. The burn chamber uses outside air and then exhausts it. You may have done this but you didn’t show it.

@oby-160710 күн бұрын
A little noisy. I would be more concerned about fire if it had something go wrong and then go thermal taking out your shed or cabin or house.
