Brief explanation and very satisfactory for the foreigner who wants to acquire a property in Bali. Indonesia is an island nation with many beautiful waters, owning a really great bali villa, especially for foreigners. Hope the methods to own real estate for foreigners in Indonesia will be simpler and faster.

i don't hope so, the complicated method is there to control the foreign land purchase. If we make it easier and simple, the amount of foreign investors will boom and it will increase the price very quickly. Even without foreign investors, the land price in Indonesian cities and prime locations are having a minimum of 15% hike every year. My house is marketed at $200,000, it is 250m2 and considered as a "upper-middle" real estate. If we make it easier for foreign investors to buy such houses here, it'd be marketed at $350,000 which is still considered affordable for a luxury real estate, leaving locals out of the property transactions. I hope you'd consider the impact on low purchase power of local people.

This is very interesting kind of transactions.. Since Bali is one of the Top Tourist destination investing there is good but as a foreigner still I am in doubt with this "Leasehold" thing.. As a foreigner you can only use Hakpakai and no other option. Leashold and freehold are the same and you need a nominee for this. Working with a nominee is illegal and you can lose all your money. So, officially (legal) is hakpakai, it is the same as leasehold or freehold, but officially without a nominee and therefore no risk for you! All those other stories can lead you to the abyss, which has happened many times before.
