🎩 PC Sherpa Survey: forms.gle/ALj54nqRVRqR53R56 We all make mistakes, including not checking temps until 2 hours into a sherpa session haha. Hope you guys enjoyed and, again, sorry that I sort of cut it off and summarized toward the end. If I didn't do that though, this would have been a podcast lmao. Thank you all for watching and I will update this comment when I heard if the hard stutters were being caused by page filing issues.

I upgraded my kid's pc from a ryzen 2200g to a 3600 and wondered why it was still running slow as hell. Turns out there was an old copy of Windows on a hard drive and Windows decided to load from that one and not the one on the m.2. Once I made that discovery and fixed the boot order in BIOS, it was a night and day difference.

As you saw, that room/apartment is awful for performance, after shooting out the little recessed lights in that apartment I get like 20 additional fps. Would recommend avoiding that room for future troubleshoots (just found this channel, good information to bounce my own setting troubleshooting off of.)

As someone who recently went from a harddrive to SSD, and then later upgraded my motherboard, CPU and RAM, I can confidently say that going from a harddrive to an SSD had more of an impact on my performance than swapping out half my PC did. Went from playing on the low with NVidia DLSS, MIPS streaming and Reflex on with constant frame drops to just low settings with nearly no frame drops. Now that I upgraded I'm playing on medium graphics and I almost never have frame drops that aren't just Tarkov being Tarkov

And that's not mentioning that it would take me on average 7 minutes to join a raid on harddrive and now it's not even 3 minutes

I have a 9900k, From what I understand is that it is a processor meant to take on multiple task not single task. So in gaming it's meh and some cores actually hurt gaming. I had to turn off cores 8+ for one of the warhammer games and I went from 80fps that dipped to 25 ish here and there to like steady 120-130 fps.
@Ollen19828 ай бұрын
Anyone who own's a 9900k and wants to learn how to fix it buy an amd processor for gaming. 3D one's work for 1080p amazingly.

Criminally underated channel btw. I have a 3060ti and a 9700k@5ghz with 32 ddr4 @ 1440p and I massively struggle on streets for the most part with settings and nvidia options optimized. I had a massive issue with the newest nvidia drivers, and had to downgrade. Strongly debating upgrading to a more modern processor and ddr5, but not sure if the 3060ti would keep up tbh or what type of processor for general gaming usage anymore
@klemintime14528 ай бұрын
The 3060 ti will be just fine for Tarkov at 1440p as long as you don't hit it with too demanding settings graphics-wise. Upgrading the platform will be *killer* for your performance, and if you want to you can totally show up to one of my streams or @ me in my discord and I could make a build based on your budget. The difference will be crazy!

Streets are pc killer. Streets before adding this new zones was killer to pc but now with upgrade its destroyer . They addins new things all the time instead repair streets performance.

setting part of the SSD as cache for HDD would solve the issue mostly.
@alan1388 ай бұрын
Wow thats a serious case of missmatch hardware components. Not only the i9 9900k is kind of outdated for gaming since its single core performance is about the same as an i5 9600k. But the worst part wasn't the cpu itself, but it was thermal throttling. And with the SO installed on HDD thats rough. I would even suggest to that guy, to install the SO on the SDD and play the game from HDD. In fact i tested this since my 480G SSD is getting filled, and the result of playing from the hard drive was not that bad, the only true issue i found beside the spected longer loading for raids, was that the items and some textures took to much to load. Wich kind of annoyed me becouse when i looted a dead body it just simply dont want to load the item's icon you just see an spinning loading ui forever. They end up loading but take like a minute or so, in tarkov no one wants that kind of behaviour from the game. But if you ask mee i would rather play the game like that, than having the entire SO installed on a hard drive. In fact another thing i wanted to point out that maybe no one notice, was the amount of ram and page file memory usage in this particular case. I think that the page file overload could be one of the reasons he is seeing that much stutter and probably low fps overal. Im not entire sure of this but a lots of games that consumes huge amount of ram and start to swap it into page file, make whole thing slower and stuttery. This happened to me with farcry 4 on its time i have a 4gb machine and i could run the game but those 4gb make it almost impossible to play, it was a stuttery mess specially while driving. After i buyed another stick of 4gb ram and enabled with it dual channel and 8gb total, it was a huge improvement, like day and night almost. This guy with the i9 probably have 32 or at least 24 gb or ram, wich should be enough for tarkov in general, but looking at is page file, it clearly is saying to me, that it needs more speed to load that stuff in and out, so an SSD upgrade is just needed, or at least install so on the ssd and the game on hdd, since the page file is normally on c drive, having it on the ssd should help a lot. And even changing the page file alone to work with the ssd withouht changing the "so in the hdd" scenario, should help a lot.
@klemintime14528 ай бұрын
I did tell him to check if the page file was on the HDD a couple days ago and indeed it was. He swapped it, but I haven't gotten word on if that's helped or not. Still waiting to hear about the new cooler too, as that CPU thermal throttling is crippling the aging performance of that CPU even more. I'll keep the pinned comment updated as I get more back from him!

I play tarkov on my back up gaming pc and it runs ok on my Intel i5 2500k 3.30ghz with 16 gb ram and a RTX 3060 and the game is running off a slave old school platter drive and my os is on a platter drive as well

I have an Rtx 3050 oem, with an intel i5 12400f with 64gb 3200mhz. With the game on an ssd. I average 90fps all maps except streets going 32fps. Any suggestions to increase quality and frames? Thank you
@klemintime14528 ай бұрын
On streets, you are likely just extremely CPU-bound, though the VRAM might be a concern and may cause stuttering as well. If you can, make a post in our help-forum on our discord so we can get detailed pictures of your settings and how its performing. Once that's done, I'll have a better picture of where the bottleneck is and I'll be able to help from there!

Hey Klemintime love the videos. I've recently put together a parts list for 1440 Tarkov. Watched a lot of your videos on PC optimization to build it and would love your feedback on it.

My thought process: CPU - Most important part in Tarkov PC so the 7800X3D since it's the best AMD CPU CPU Cooler - I have the Dark Rock Pro 4 listed on there but it's between that and the Noctua NH-D15. Watched a video on best coolers for the CPU by STS and these were pretty good ones. Motherboard - I learned that VRM is important for Tarkov and from my research this motherboard was one of the best for VRM from 2024 Memory - Picked DDR5 with low latency and high speed. Went for memory that has maximum 10ms latency and over 5000 speed. Storage - Will probably change to a 2TB but went for and M.2 by Kingston Fury Graphics Card - Went with a 7900 XTX since it performs well in gaming and is a competitor to the NVIDIA cards. Not too informed on the selection here so would like some more insight onto this part for the build. Case - This case looks really cool lol Power Supply - I think an 850W was recommended for this build but went with a 1000W because I wanted an overkill build

@@nawlfr Absolutely STELLAR build for tarkov. The one thing i will note, though, is that you could save money on the GPU here and jump down a bit in the stack depending on your resolution. Also, with the 7900xtx, you wont have access to Nvidia features such as DLSS and Reflex. If you'd like more, feel free to post a PC part picker link over in my discord and we all can take a look for you (and also make sure the prices you are paying for each part aren't too bad!)
