If a woman wears men's clothing, no problem. If a man wears women's clothing, a big problem. Double standards. Men also require gender equality, otherwise it isn't gender equality. Men's clothes are invariably dull uniformed compared to women's. There shouldn't be men's and women's clothes, but just clothes. And, use the better men's size scale.

When I was 12 I really wanted a black trench coat like Neo. My mom and I looked high and low and were not able to find one. One day we were shopping at the mall and I was in the women's section of a clothing store with my mom. I found the perfect freaking trench coat. I bought it and nobody could tell. I got the most compliments I had ever gotten on my clothing. The only person who noticed was my brother who had worked in a clothing store and saw the belt loops were higher up than they should be on a men's garment so he deduced it was a ladies coat. No one else ever noticed or judged me. I've also worn ladies aviators since they are smaller. In both items I've been more confident and got a ton more compliments. My father always said most of the gender specific items are just a business gimmick and the older I get the more I start to believe him.

Any man with the balls to wear something considered feminine has my respect. If he actually looks good in it? Even more respect! Think about it. Dressing like a traditionally masculine guy carries no risk. It broadcasts that you’re trying to fit in and be taken seriously. Dressing femininely tells the world that you’re confident, adaptable, adventurous, and even fun and friendly.
@rigobertoalfonso6829
@rigobertoalfonso6829 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. To preface, by dressing like a "traditionally masculine guy," I'm assuming that you mean something along the lines of dress clothes (something that men wear to "be taken seriously"). To say that dressing like a traditionally masculine guy carries no risk is a completely naive way to look at things. When you begin to dress in a respectable way, you are absolutely taking a risk. You are telling everybody around you that you mean business. Nothing more, nothing less. If a man strays away from meaning business wearing that suit, then you can best be sure that the man won't be as well respected. That applies to both sexes when they dress to impress in a respectable manner. Furthermore, dressing like a traditionally masculine guy does not mean that you are trying to fit in during the modern age. It means that you are trying to separate yourself. During traditional times men would have worn "traditionally" masculine clothing to fit in. Most men in America dress like boys modernly. If you walk the streets, you'll see it. Men who mean business aren't fun and friendly. But I'll tell you what. Wearing a suit and tie exudes confidence in that it accentuates a man's shoulders, it makes them seem modernly adaptable in the sense that they can move from adapt from boyish society and be serious. It even makes them adventurous in the sense that they are wearing the suit and tie, which again, is becoming something in fashion that is diminishing dramatically.

@@rigobertoalfonso6829 Pretty sure your assumption in the preface was wrong. In this context dressing like a traditionally masculine guy probably meant just wearing stuff that's considered men's clothing or masculine leaning unisex. Like wear pants indtead of a skirt etc.

I once wore a red ribbon in my hair, just for pure fun. And yes, it really messed with people's heads, especially because I didn't wore it because I wanted to make a statement or something. That's why I think we should sometimes just let go of our social expectations when it comes to clothing. No, I don't say 'wear a dress next time', but I find it weird people freaked out over such a small thing... a small red ribbon with white rose in the middle, that was it.

Or, you know, considering it wasn't socially acceptable for women to wear pants and shorts 80 years ago, and now it is due to them just making it so and not thinking they're less of women for doing so, men could do the same. There's no "under certain circumstances a guy can..." or "I'm not saying wear these type, but the "manly" looking...". Any guy can wear any article of clothing he wants. As long as it fits him, expresses himself in a way he prefers, keeps him warm/cool, then he can wear anything. He can wear the same amount of makeup that women wear. He can wear any purse he wants (should at least try to make it match outfit). If you seriously let a small sign in clothing stores that say "Women" dictate which articles of cloth you wear for your entire life, that's kind of pathetic. Especially when "mens" clothes you see are adapted into the women's section monthly, yet men apparently are too stuck up to expand their wardrobe.

In answer to your question, how far one can go into the clothing of the opposite sex depends entirely on lifestyle. An male artist wearing a woman's blouse gains a creative authority just as a suited businessman gains his authority in his feild. Just as a rock musician with black nail polish on. Similarly a female academic who wears men's shirts gains a respect for her feminist freedom. A female mechanic may wear functional menswear. Or coming back to an artist, a female artist may wear a mixture of menswear and womenswear to show expressiveness.

Womens clothing is just better than Mens in general. Women get everything, body fitting jeans, better boots, better shirts weather they are regular shirts or dressy long shirts they always happen to have an attractive curvature AND design to them, Where as Male clothing is always just shapeless baggy lesser quality shit.

From experience living in norway, that's not always true. I wouldn't want to wear women's clothes for a 5 meter long stroll lest I risk getting floored by a cold. Men's styles stick long enough to get adapted to the part of the year that isn't the last two summer months, so stores selling men's wear will usually stock something that can keep out the cold and look good.

I love hiking and backpacking, been doing it since I was 11 years old. I was preparing for a twelve day backpacking trip in Cimarron, New Mexico at an outdoor store and found the perfect pair of outdoor/ hiking cargo pants in the clearance section. They were comfortable, functional, lightweight and breathable. Hiking in them was a breeze, and when I was hit with unexpected rain they dried very quickly after ward so i could keep goin. The end of the that trip was the manliest I'd ever felt. Later, after washing them for the first time and taking a closer look at the tag, I found out they were women's pants. Ah well, still don't feel any less manly!

It had this military design that really passed as a unisex garment. I received numerous compliments from it. I wound up giving it to a female friend of mine because she liked it so much.

I'm seeing some men in the comments vehemently against these points, and to me it just suggests insecurity with their own masculinity. Well I for one has 24 pairs of women's panties, and they are the only thing I wear, every day. And I also wear women's footwear, when I can find them in my sizes. But most times I have no problem doing that. You just have to look around and try on many pairs, and you'll find that certain style and size in your size. I wear one pair of women's Flats to my church regularity. And no one has ever spoke bad to me about them. [[ most people don't look down at what a person may have on!]] Once I was wearing a pair of youngens ladies SHOES in a shopping mall, no one seen or said a thing. But, one little girl who was with her folks, just smiled at me, when I walked past her. She knew I had on women's shoes! Yes, to the fact some women's clothing looks just as natural on us men as when it's on them. And the fit is smooth and neat. I also wear women's three inch heeled boots, everywhere. And get complements always too. So there you have it!

Been a viewer for a long time but I've never commented before but I think this is a great topic. My personal taste varies a lot (big fan of brands like Rick Owens, Boris Bidjan Saberi, Yohji Yamamoto etc). And I'm glad you brought this topic up. A lot of guys are waaay too insecure in their own masculinity to pull this off. You have to look at the piece of clothing and judge it by the way it looks, fit and feels. The fact that it's in the "Womens" section is irrelevant to the product itself. I personally would recommend different styles of oversized tank tops. They are very comfy and there's a lot of cool options out there. And the one thing I've noticed (I used to live in Sweden but I've been living in Japan for a couple of years now) is that womens clothing is much cheaper than mens clothing when it comes to "basic" clothing. I'd get a women's tank top for $10 in Sweden but for a mens it's about three times the price. (I have no idea why) but that's the case. And for those insecure about make up - think about TV personalities, actors, musicians etc. They all wear make up but nobody complains about Dolph Lundgren looking like a girl, right? I had very dry lips one winter, so they looked very red/pink. So I actually used a nude lipstick to make it look like I wasn't wearing "lipstick". (And it's a great moisturiser as well). Wearing "womens clothing" does not mean that you're wearing a sun dress. Pick out the pieces that suits your clothing and be confident. If you simply discard an item due to it being "womens" you have bigger issues my friend. Take care.

Well I'm a young woman that watches your channel because I am a grown tomboy and feminine style doesn't suit me, how I'm comfortable, my message, my lifestyle etc. So I consistently wear a mixture of men's and women's clothing. So when I'm not in my more everyday more masculine attire, I use this mixture to create a mens style that channels a sort of feminine dandy vintage rockstar. David Bowie on a more casual day. In not talking about men cross dressing here you are quite perfectly falling into the territory of me, a woman "cross-dressing". Though I don't see it that way, I'm just a tomboy. Anyway, well done for trying to open up your male viewers a bit Antonio.

@@cockycookie1 Erm I look and dress more like an average dude basically (but probably a bit better). Got more comfortable in my masculinity and general gender expression. I'm also into bodybuilding now and have a generally more sporty aesthetic. Probably not anything Antonio would approve of. I cringe a bit at what I said before because the dandy look was just a transition for me to being 100% masc. And I definitely never looked like David Bowie hahaha that was just a lie. Also, men are no longer attracted to me since I cut my hair short. Which is good, because I turned them down anyway and have no intention of dating men. Over all, watching channels like Real Men Real Style and other men's improvement channels really helped me grow into the masculinity that I was bullied for my whole childhood and claim it fully, and I'm grateful for this period in my life. I am very proud to be the way I am and I am happy that the period of my life in which I made the last comment acted as a gateway to me slowly stopping to hide myself like I had my whole teenage years. It made what should've been some of the most carefree years of my life miserable and now I am so much more liberated.

I do it all the time as it's sometime cheaper, looks better, or have better color options. With jacket/top, look for one size+ bigger and make sure it fits well, especially around the shoulder, as men tend to have broader shoulders (easier for skinny guys). For pant, it really depends on your leg size, usually the baggier option fits the average man better, just that and waist size. With footwear it can be a bit more difficult, go about 1.5 size up and take width D (standard for men, women standard is B) if that option is there. As I see it, clothing does not have to be gender specific. 🙃

I wear women's jeans, since I am very skinny and not that tall, the smallest of the men's jean (size 28) is still too loose for me, and when I wear a belt it folds up, so I went and try women's jeans, and the slim fit ones at size (2 or 4) fits me perfectly, it might be just an inch short, but when you roll up the ankles it just looks natural and the waist just fits so much better, and they also have some colours that are a lot cheaper than the men's section.

Makeup is made for anyone & everyone; Artists, Performers, Models & the average person looking to even out their pigmentation, protect their skin from the elements, conceal/cover acne &/or scars. There are many different types. Don't be afraid to try something you think was made for the opposite sex, bc we're all just human & life is too short to care about what other people think.

I wear women's jewelry, love my black diamond Chanel bracelet and CC Coco necklace, and I've discovered many women's perfumes that are very unisex.. Honestly since I've been wearing whatever I like regardless if it's men's or women's, usually a combination of both, I've had more women smile, wink, approach me in public, and flirt with me than I've ever had before.. My wife compliments me as well much more often than in the years I just stuck to the men's clothes isles.... True story...

Not to mention the quality of material for women's t-shirts is much better and the range of materials is more diverse (many are softer and stretchier). But focus on casual clothing, but mention what colors looks good together with a suit.

I like wearing women’s dress boots. I found a pair that fit & they are very comfortable as well as functional. They are very easy to slide on & zip up in a hurry
