It absolutely does! I've had CKD for 8 years. I've had tests come back late stage 3 early stage 4. I've been on the carnivore diet since December of 2023. I just recently went to the doctor for something unrelated and was drilled by my doctor because of being on the carnivore diet. Going on an all meat diet was the " Dumbest thing I could have done." She insisted I get lab work done immediately. Since I was brought up trusting in our medical community, I went home and told my wife that I very well may have messed up big-time. My blood work came back, and my GFR number has improved 30 points. I am completely blown away!

It’s a challenging transition, no doubt about it. If you commit to just a short time it is easier for your mind to accept - 90 days is a good minimum. The hardest pushbacks will come from those in your family and possibly from workmates. I found the easiest thing to do is to tell people that you’re having some personal health issues that you don’t really want to discuss, and that you are going on a total elimination diet for 90 days, to try to identify possible food sensitivities and what is producing inflammation and/or pain in your body. It helps to keep a daily note of changes you experience - some will happen fast and are a good motivation to spur you on. I’d recommend full bloods before and after. All the best

7 weeks in CD.. Down from 105Kg to 90.5Kg, white teeth after 22 years (I'm 38), no more depression after 18 years, as sharp as ever before! No more work burnout! Cured my feet fungus after 10(ish*) years, psoriasis cured, my skin is shining and I no longer look pale, sexuality went on the moon! yes, I wake up with a boner like when I was a teenager :) (had to share, for all men out there). No more kidney stones, no more stomach fluid/acid (in Greek is Palindromisis), after 15 years of suffering, no more sleeping apnea (had at least 2-3 times a week, thought I was dying..stress is reducing dramatically, almost stopped biting my nails (was doing that since when I can remember), my female titties disappeared! I Eat 2 meals a day (not chasing it, comes out naturally). 1 cup of black coffee 2 hours after I wake up, drinking a lot of water throughout the day, eating daily beef, and the second meal can be chicken thighs (1 time a week), beef liver (2 times a week), fresh fish fillet (1 time a week), and with every meal i started with 4 eggs, now i'm down to 2 (per meal). I added some butter, but now after big weight loss I added a bit extra. No dairies at all. I add fair amount of salt to season my meat. I eat around 5pm and then again at 9pm and that's it. I'm not hungry only until 3pm (2 hours of hunger until I eat, is when I feel better than ever mentally). Never cheated, and my results are what's motivating me to keep on going. Saving my cheat meal for Christmas (maybe a fruit, some cheese or greek yogurt). I also include sparkling water which seems to help a lot with cravings, especially with soda cravings (been a coke addict for maaaaany years). Been a smoker for 23 years now, and I finally reduced it to 5 cigs a day (was smoking avg 30 cigs), because I fill my time with exercise, have energy for other activities. I will cut completely soon. Starting this diet was the best gift I made to myself since the day I was born. Became an expert in meat cooking by the way. Guys, an advice.. if you're on this diet, don't try to make carnivore pizza, tacos, or all this shit, because it's like telling you body you are weak mentally still, and here's something to ease the cravings for junk. Just go for it straight forward, eat like a lion, like our ancestors, and you'll feel like a superhuman! and exercise! (do not exercise after you feel tired, stop when you reach your limits). Be patient for the first 2 weeks, and then no force in this universe can stop you.

Reading these comments really makes me think. In my age group practically everyone has health problems. This can’t be normal. We are not a sick species. If we were,we would not have survived the mind boggling aeons of time to arrive at this stage. Quite simply, our current human health is self inflicted in most cases. But now we know that it doesn’t have to be. With people like Dr. Chaffee and others whose motivation is a desire to improve human health by providing this health information, we can each individually choose the path to health. This is not a competition between vegans and carnivores or being right or wrong. It’s as simple as choosing to try and see for yourself. If you see no benefit after say, 90 days, then no harm done. Although, that does seem unlikely given the very positive results experienced by so many.

lemon water is based on a myth. see his video on plants kill, causd they do and were killing me. watch sally norton for specific info on oxcilates. if your'e not a strict carnivore, you'll want to prepare your body for the change so you don't go through carnivore fever, which can last days to over a week depending on which way of eating you enter carnivore through. I personally learned plants were killing me on my own journey before learning about Dr. Chaffee, and had already stopped them, and many other things that improved my health greatly before I found him, so it was a very easy transition for me that even increased my health even more based on his teachings.

I’m wondering if his inflamed hemorrhoids has anything to do with it. Or suddenly eating beef and it’s showing in his blood work??? She did briefly ask if he was eating meat. He answered, I ate bread. Lol! 😅 🍞 I suspect the doctor over medicating him with diuretics for over a month caused this serious condition. We went to the hospital 3 days in a row, 2 hours each for IV to help his dehydration. The doctor kept telling us it’s his fault that this happened because he was eating too much salt. Which he totally avoided salt. …his IV was Sodium 😅 That means sodium deficiency from dehydration and malnutrition. (My guess) Thank you so much for all your videos! I was watching your older videos and other KZbin appearances then this one popped up at the best timing! Looking forward to your next Live stream and other contents in the future.🙏🏻😊 (I Can’t Believe That Major Hospital Refused To Check My Father’s Vitamin B12 Level!) magnesium chloride will help with oxalate dumping and potential kidney stone issues. the magnesium chloride in my personal opinion is the most potent form of magnesium for issues like this because it turns those stones into sediment so that you can excrete them much easier instead of in the form of painful stones. my rule of thumb is start with the bare minimum and work my way up. If having loose bowels and diarrhea, taper it down. usually works for me. I've saved myself from both chronic and acute kidney issues solely with magnesium chloride flakes. i spray it topically and also ingest it both forms of application have direct benefits from what ive noticed.

That's another thing that drives me NUTS! Everytime my grandma visits a doctor or is in the hospital (all but this last time).. I ask about giving her a B12 shot cause I know she has to be low on B12. She doesn't eat enough meat. She only eats carbs and struggles swallowing large vitamin supplements. And I am consistently blown off by her doctors with little more than a shrug & a nod of "no". Sometimes I get told: "It won't help". Well, it wouldn't hurt either. She's dealing with cognitive decline & I know some brain shrinkage as per some neurology tests ran on her a few years back. I've even had cardiologists say right in front of my grandma: "At this point, we're not interested in prolonging life." Well, that's always nice to hear from the doctors you're trusting to save your life. One of her cardiologists gave her a year to live & that was 2 years ago last October. I couldn't get her motivated to do anything after that. All I heard was: "Why bother? I only have a year to live!" The medical establishment, especially in the States, is horrifically incompetent & negligent. Can't even give a B12 shot on request with an attitude of "Meh. We're not interested in prolonging life." Disgusting! Absolutely disgusting!

IMPORTANT!! Dr. Chaffee, I was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease 12 years ago, along with hypertension. I'm 39 now. Nephrologists and cardiologists I've seen so far only seem to want to switch my blood pressure medication every now and then, but they never have given me a specific cause (other than I'm obese, 175cm at 105kg) and that I'll never come off medication. I have slightly increased creatinine and urea, showing decreased kidneys function, but nothing too serious, and I'm trying carnivore as a last resort to avoid dialysis. Any tips or recommendations please? Best wishes from Brazil.

A question hopefully a few of you all can answer because I'm late to the party. My son (now 11) was born with basically 1 functioning kidney. We bounced up to Dornbeckers (sp?) every 6 months to run tests (for 6 years) to make sure everything was still good, which is. Question is, is the age and one kidney (the other is just underdeveloped) a concern for carnivore...which I'm a firm believer has always been the healthiest.

Huge responsibility, no wonder, you are hesitant. There are some amazing success stories in this comment section with one kidney. Keep researching until you find certainty. Personally, I think that humans are evolutionary carnivors, so healthy or sick, old or young, the best option is the species' ideal diet.

It's so interesting bcs my 16.5 year old cat has now developed kidney disease. She was given mostly kibble for most of her life when she didn't live with me but after she moved in with me a couple of years ago I put her on a raw food diet. Her muscle mass and fur improved greatly. But...now she can't tolerate eating her species appropriate diet anymore and I have had to resort to give her veterinarian foods especially developed for CKD. It contains crap that I don't even eat myself but she got so sick that I had no choice. It's a struggle to make her eat the veterinarian foods obviously bcs it's not what they evolved to eat. She Improves when she eats it though but it's a constant struggle to get her to eat it and I wish I could find a way to let her eat a fully carnivorous diet again. It's so interesting to me that humans can reverse CKD on a carnivore diet but my cat can't?!? I have researched like crazy and it's gotten me nowhere sadly. I have given her phosphorus binders to her regular food but it doesn't work. She gets sick again so I always have to resort back to the veterinarian foods. I don't know what to do anymore!

Yes an eGFR of 60 means stage 3 CKD, but if you want to keep listening to KZbin docs that don’t see patients, you’ll be doing it at the detriment of your kidneys. Get a kidney ultrasound, you’ll see that the eGFR, just like all the lab numbers the carnivore docs like to ignore, is a real measure of kidney function. Get an ultrasound. It’ll confirm your CKD
