can it replace the quad cortex? no, can you use it as an entire live rig if you need only 2 channels and already have an amp sound you like on it? yes absolutely, it works perfectly
@eduardolorandi3628Ай бұрын
Can you do the later with something that costs the same thing if not half the price and risk having more presets available and modulalr sound blocks? Yes
@edge4266Ай бұрын
Personally this seems perfect for what I need as a bedroom guitarist who wants to break out into doing shows without having a lot of funds. I have a pedalboard and usually use NDSP plugins but this would allow me to have a live ready guitar rig for just over $1000 that would sound absolutely crushing

Thanks for the clarity, makes it easier to understand how this works to get it started.

Not a Nano Cortex, but my live rig has been replaced with a Tonex with a HX Effects (which has pitchshifting) and an expression pedal.
@w9co736Ай бұрын
I believe it's possible to map the transpose amount to an expression pedal, which might solve the problem. Expression pedals can be pretty compact, but it would still mean packing another piece of gear.
@The_Maddest_of_Hatters13Ай бұрын
As a fellow caveman, I feel like this little thing could be exactly what I'm looking for. My band does a similar amount of chugs, just considerably less pitch shifting. I do the other trick that Buster does, and tune the highest two string a semitone apart so barring them gives easy dissonant squeels!! Either way, great video man. Nice playing as well!!!

I've run through our whole set list and while TECHINCALLY I could, I still need wah for some songs, I still need to be able to switch chorus and delay (and I don't want to try and jump between scenes for that) and I need to switch boost on/off and off and again, I don't want to have to deal with juggling a boosted/unboosted patch. Also I need solo boost. I think when (IF?) we get the ability to hook up a 2 button switch to toggle chorus and delay, that will get rid of 2 extra pedals on my board.

Can the NanoCortex replace my QuadCortex setup ? No. At least for me, it can't. Given the signal chain used in my presets, I'd need 2 NC and some things before each Nano, plus other things for control. Too much of a hassle, QC is perfect given my use case.

Does anyone else notice a weird high pitch frequency coming out of the quad, I bought one and hated the frequency happy with my kemper
@sbrave2Ай бұрын
But if I wanted to just capture a couple of my amps and have reverb & delay, it would work for live gigs? I also sub a Drop pedal, which is fine. Ready to ditch my MX5

Do you have any tips for a good starting place for 8 strings? I really want to break into the world of 8 strings and have been playing baritone 7's for awhile but not sure where to start on more extended range guitars!
@jonah8133Ай бұрын
I got my first 8 string recently. Been playing 7 multi scales for a while. Went with the strandberg nx 8 metal. I’m selling my other guitars because strandberg for me is so far above and beyond how a normal guitar feels, I’ll never be able to go back or play anything else
@BaenaCarcosaАй бұрын
That’s a bit too broad of a question for me to really give advice on tbh! Unless you specifically want that extra string then a baritone 7 is probably fine as is. Don’t get me wrong, I barely ever use all 8 strings as well so I get that’s a bit of an ironic statement coming from me haha
@meatpop8573Ай бұрын
@@jonah8133 Will definitely have to check out strandberg!! I've been eyeing a couple myself. Im mainly a schecter guy myself but I'm not really too picky.
@meatpop8573Ай бұрын
@@BaenaCarcosa Thanks for the reply! I guess now that I think on it, the extra string really isn't what I'm looking for. Just low tuned fuckery. Speaking of, how is the Nano's transpose ability? Does it sound as good as the Whammy DT? Still on the fence on it.
@Raijinx13Ай бұрын
If you could do a who set with the quad and a whammy couldnt you do the same with this and a whammy? Is it just because of the in ears ? My bad if this was answered and i missed it and is this midi programmable?
@eliaskapravelos7171Ай бұрын
If only it had the doubler:( otherwise it would be perfect for my one tone one guitarist rig.

What amps/cabs/heads do you use with the quad cortex live?

Are u retarded ? 😂
@nathanmccook133Ай бұрын
So just guessing here(in the middle of watching so if u explain later sorry lol) is the issue u ran into because the transpose is just that so jumps straight to a not rather then a whammy that slides up/down to the note?
@BaenaCarcosaАй бұрын
Yeah and it also just doesn’t snap to pitch fast enough for what we need since we have some tuning changes that only last like a quarter note then snap back and stuff like that
@nathanmccook133Ай бұрын
@@BaenaCarcosa ok yea makes sense 🤔 I was actually wondering if that was gonna be a short coming/issue for it so good to know lol I'm like that 1% of viewers that this video answered the exact question I was thinking on myself 🤣
