this is really cool, I currently have the ampero 2 stomp and although its cool with its touch screen and numerous features, I feel like most of them are useless, 90% of the cleans sound the same, you have about 2 sounds with the crunch amps and about 3 different styles of high gain amp ( actually amounts are way higher but in terms of noticeable difference) my main issue is the firmware/software of the unit, its just glitchy AF. I also don't like the lack of updates from hotone i've gotten 1 since I bought it a year ago, which added scenes which I feel should of been a feature from the get go, but its not perfect and it added more bugs and the app crashes a lot I love how simplistic this one is, and how I can easily setup and swap between a nice clean with no effects then one with certain effects on and a dirty channel no effects then one with say a delay.

I have a Kemper Player, was both worried and hyped hearing the teases of the nano cortex (worried for having to spend money, hyped because I was intered in the Quad Cortex ecosystem) but it left me heavily disapointed. I can see no reasons at all to get this over a Kemper Player.
@balmain24963 ай бұрын
@@gertjangoetynck5074 Can you elaborate? I’m still thinking of getting the Kemper but I want to know other people’s experiences with it. Why would you choose it over the rest?
@gertjangoetynck50743 ай бұрын
@@balmain2496 The 2 main downsides of the Kemper player: No capturing ability and limited effects. I have nothing worth capturing so that's no issue for me, and the limited effects are still enough for me and most people. I prefer the tones of Kemper over those of Helix. The Helix offers more effects and amp tweakability, but the onboard effects of the Kemper Player are enough for me as mentioned above, and I own a HX One for unique one of effects I may need. The reduced tweakabily of amps is no big deal for me, since I really prefer the Kemper profile sounds. And if I really do want to tweak more, I can just get a liquid profile. Those are the reasons I got it over the Helix. Tonex has good profiles, but I want my unit to be as much all in one as possible so that wasn't an option. This Nano Cortex is in a weird place in between the Tonex and Kemper Player. It has more effects than the Tonex, but it still lacks some really important ones like overdrive pedals and compression which the Kemper Player does have. It makes the nano cortex a bad choice imo. If you want all in one, the Kemper player is a better option since the nano cortex still requires you to use external pedals. But if you want to use pedals, the tonex is a lot cheaper while giving equal (or to some better) captures. If they added models and capture playing to the nano cortex I would've been all over it. If they added at least equal effects to the Kemper Player (and no modeling) I would've considered it to get into the cortex eco system. But it doesn't offer any of that.
@ejw30063 ай бұрын
@@balmain2496more effects options and Kemper has a people making professional captures for years. ngl if you want something like this I’d get a tonex and use the extra money you would’ve used on the nano to buy an effect pedal you like, unless you really want the extra effects

If you like the idea of this but can't stomach the price, check out the M-Vave Tank G that Andrew reviewed recently. It is nearly 1/8th the price and offers remarkably similar features. Biggest difference is the effect types being more basic reverb, delay and modulation options. No pitch shifting or octave functionalities. Amp and cab sims are fully customizable as of the current firmware update, so if you have cab .wav files or AM2 amp files (you have to convert these to AM2Data files) laying around you can swap them in and out as needed. I won't sit here and say it's as good or better than the Neural, but for the price it really can't be beat. Great piece of gear for those on a sub $100USD budget.

@BlackWylde3 ай бұрын
Even the profiling has been done better by some competition lol. However, one feature that Neural DSP does that no other device does as well is transposing. A lot of metal players use the QC just for that feature alone , because it's the only one that doesnt destroy the tone after transposing. Aside from that, most of the modelers/capture devices are just preference. I use a helix now just because i like the interface better than the QC. But i will use the QC for certain things still.

Yes but with a capture, you have to capture your IR-less/cab-less amp plugin tone with an interface loop (like it shows in the manual for pedal captures) and then make an in-the-box IR of the cab emulation you used. This thing makes way more sense if you treat it as a high end preamp replacement for a pedal rig.
@ryancarrollguitar3 ай бұрын
@@eliaskapravelos7171 I can see it being used on a pedalboard rig for sure, but in that case, why no effects loop?
@eliaskapravelos71713 ай бұрын
Honestly no clue for that, they probably want it being more of a portable interface for Macs (good luck having two asio drivers on PC unless they have fixed the change interface and get a blue screen thing from win 10) than a pedal pedal. Makes the lack of PC editor all the worse if that's the case. They'll figure it out neural does listen to feedback.
