Just watching you struggle really hits home how incredibly difficult it is to actually draw in literal 3D. It certainly has a huge learning curve. Yet, even with a few hours of playtime.. er..practise, you still manage to create a cohesive, pretty picture. Great work, and thank you for being real about showing mistakes and difficulties whilst creating.

Just watching the camera shots of the work, you were creating was enough to make me feel ill; can't imagine how much worse it would have been to actually be wearing those goggles. No not for me, thank you.

I think it’s a little worse watching the replay, because at least I was in control of the movement when I was looking through the goggles. The replay moves so much more than I felt like I was moving!

There are forms in Open Brush that you can use to make a perfect sphere. And a flat plane to make 2D paintings on. Your brush sticks to the surface.

I love that you are not afraid to show us how even a professional artist struggles with new techniques. You should get in contact with Jazza as he has been using VR to sculpt. He may be able to recommend a program you could use.

I have had a fun time with you and Shane. Your progress has been amazing. It was a fun trip but I have arrived at my station and it is time for me to get off the train. I will continue to colour as I do best and relax and enjoy myself. I have cut my social media except for Goodreads. I have the new unopened boxes of pencils, pens, markers, crayons and gels that I got last year before the stroke and heat attack. I have started to pass on the loads of colouring stuff I have! Oh, my! And I have the colouring books I want and loads of pictures I bought on Etsy and from other people. And am now working on giving away the needlework I can no longer do. Then, puzzles and games. Then books, DVDs and CDs. I have transferred all my pictures of the bands I worked with and passed them on to fans. I am feeling much lighter and less worried about upcoming operations, treatments and tests, etc. Thank you for getting me through the Covid years and the declutter years and my stroke and heart attack. I owe you a lot that I can never repay except for these few words and my prayers. May your family continue to be healthy and happy. God bless, Josh

i first used openbrush a couple of weeks back.. i had the complete ground floor of my house set up as my workspace.. from my frontdoor right thru to my kitchen.. it was mental heh.. any way i was painting (scribbling) away, discovering new tools along the way.. there are guides you can use to create spheres, cubes, planes etc which you paint on, discard the guide leaving just the painted shape.. you can group objects together to create bigger ones which you can duplicate, resize and rotate to quickly build a scene.. you get the 'picture'.. yes it was great fun.. i captured my artwork by turning on the oculus's (oops meta's) video and physically walked thru my house.. yes please, more vr :)

As a 2 dimentional artist i dunno if i could do this especially since i have limited mobility in what i can do. The doodles on the white canvas was my favorite. The duct tape dress was cute. I kinda always wanted to make a duct tape dress myself. You are expanding your art and what you are learning in just a few short hours was spectacular compared to even jazza who's had multiple experiences with VR art. I really think you could do this again and hopefully less of a migraine from it next time.

I have seen a friend who isn't an artist try art in vr, i'm not sure how i would go with it but it did seem interesting and i'm glad my friend was having fun with it. If you feel comfortable doing more content like this i will of course watch but don't do it at the cost of your health and wellbeing. Art takes time and we must allow that time for it to flourish so if it means you do an hour a day or less to comfortably get one project done then the results will speak for themselves :)

Hey Sarah. I got this coloring book for Christmas called “Please Wear Headphones: ASMR Guide and Coloring Book” by Sean Martines. It’s a coloring book that has QR codes for ASMR videos that you can watch as you color and the pages even match the sounds. Plus also, it has a journal in the back of it so that you can write about how every sound made you feel. If you wanted a coloring book to review on your channel, I would recommend that one.

I guess you used tilt brush (or the open source version open brush) to create this. At least open brush has rulers and a "mannequin-function" (thats just how i call it), where you can insert help 3D shapes that limit your painting on it in the 3rd Dimension. For example theres a shape like a tictac, and when you draw directly on it, it will behave like painting on that surface instead of eyeballing. Maybe you should play around a bit more :D Aditionally you should be able to change "your" size by pressing both middle finger buttons and move them away from each other to get smaller and vice versa. That should give you more freedom in terms of space navigation and detail managing. Have Fun!

@sophiewiest1493

@@SarahRenaeClark i am not sure in what order or why, but tilt brush and open brush are basically the same program. Tilt brush is a paid programm, open brush (i found it on steam) is the same code but open source. But because its not really money supported some features could have been replaced, and its style is much more experiental in my opinion, and the community interactions with other "open brushers" are not supported anymore. I am a poor student so i ofc didn't bought tilt brush, but downloaded open brush. I never really compared them (in lack of owning both), but i assume you can use almost every open brush hack to tilt brush. There are some good videos out there that support new Artists on that programm and its features

Sorry, Sarah, but I had to stop watching, because I began to feel really nauseous with all the swaying about on the image! That surprised me, cos I've been on the sea a lot (not in big cruise ships, but small boats of many sorts), in all kinds of weather, and never been seasick (though I do get travel sick on land - maybe that's the difference?). I skipped to the end to see what you did, and it was pretty, but I do wonder about how it messes about with our ear, eye and brain function (your nausea, headache, spacial awareness issues, etc is a good example), and what the point is, and this hasn't really changed my thinking.
