My guess is actually that this was a multiplayer game! The research and lack of spy tech suggests that Germany was a player (bad one). But the tanks and efficiency of the Soviet Union suggests this was another player! Hence the lack of Ironman save

AI cannot modify existing templates. They just create new ones. Many, many lag inducing new ones.

Honestly I think this one was a real disaster save. I doubt the last one you did with the Soviet Union having to defend Moscow was. Simply because it was setup like the AI. But this feels fairly real. Like the person who was playing the Germans just had no idea what they were doing.

@@tuluppampam Actually the agency was the thing that convinced me. That and the lack of tank research. AI sucks at organizing. But will never forget about tank research and the agency. I genuinely believe this player just really, really sucked. Which is fine and understandable. Even I, at 800 hours in, am still trying to beat the Soviet Union as Fascist Germany in historical.

I really loved the Biography of von Lettow-Vorbeck. It was really interesting and fascinating to get some insight into the times of the Kaiserreich and it's militaristic society, as well as the wars and his take on his time in Africa. I recommend it to anyone.

Definitely a recommendation to read the book by Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck. It‘s called „Heia Safari“ in which he tells about his experience as leading General in German East Africa. Great to actually hear how they managed to hold out the entire World War I without capitulating against so many troops just by using guerilla tactics. The finest guerilla tactics you ever have seen. Truly a book that is worth to read

I created a (satirical) Reverse Sealion scenario like fifteen years ago something. Basically I got tired I hearing about Germany invading Britain that I wanted to have Britain invade Europe for once. Afterward, somebody else came along, asked if he could use my idea and then wrote something a lot more serious. He did such a good job I suggested he should turn it into a book.

This is amazing timing for the video to get recommended, I just had this situation in my save because I attacked the soviets too late and they wiped me out, I had a little more time with Italy because they did a civil war and somehow survived- but eventually they capitulated too soon and I failed anyway. I managed to cause a coup in the USA as they were the only people I needed to capitulate to win one of the wars I think, but they didn't capitulate in time for me to win good video though, :)

Apx. 20:35 you can deal with a problem fleet like that by setting naval bombers to port strike and/or naval attack dependingon the situation. The AI will move the fleet to get away from the planes.

7:14 correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to put taskforces on both strikeforce and patrol? Patrol taskforces find the enemy and then the strikeforce taskforce sails out to engage the enemy, or at least that's what my understanding of how the navy is supposed to work.

When I tried to Player the save I also had a problem with Soviet troop on the on Tile in the Netherlands and the Thing with the enemy fleet being in the way. I managed to fix it by setting my navy to Navil Invasion Support.

Here's a fun fact looking at the save. WW2 kicks off when Germany attacks the (democratic) French (France usually has some communist problems when Germany goes this path). The British join in when Greece is attacked in 41 and the US in 42. Britain, despite being in WW2, is annexed in 43 when the save starts, not capitulated, with the British Navy being owned by the player. That is quite simply impossible. Also the save was modded, using State Transfer Tool, Player-led conferences and Formable Nations as mods. What I don't quite understand is a certain peace conference where Yugoslavia generated 88% world tension in 42. There's also a few things about the UI that don't make sense, like how the UK is listed there, capitulated, but also not called into the war. It would make sense if the player didn't OWN the British isles and if the player didn't own the Royal Navy, but they do. I'm only left wondering, how the hell was this done. Because I have played around a lot with the console and I'm not quite sure how you'd get this particular result.

Will to live, maybe. In this timeline it looks like Wilhelm was restored to the throne and was Kaiser again. He'd have actually had something to do with his life, leading his embattled Empire and trying to save it from total annihilation by the Soviets, so that might've kept him alive a couple years longer. Pure determination.

Seeing how german navy exists, Germany put its' entire focus on the navy to curbstomp britain. Then got destroyed by the soviets because of a lack of proper divisions and cas. I did this once as germany before DLCs were even a thing and got destroyed by poland because of it. Tried again and poland ceded danzig for some reason.
