I'm a native Spanish speaker (from Puerto Rico) and for me it was very easy to learn Italian. I could converse fluently after 4 months of study. Even before studying Italian I could understand most of the writing and if spoken slowly, ass the pronunciation and vocabulary are very similar.

Hi, I'm a native Spanish speaker. The method I used to learn English might've been similar to yours, Nate. I am really confident in my English, but I'd never call myself fluent.. Also, by the way, the word "fluent" in Spanish (fluido) is not equal to the word "hispanohablante". Hispanohablante is a term used to refer to people who speak Spanish as their mother tongue or have a mastery of Spanish close to that of a native speaker. Now, your Spanish is amazing. You're one of, if not the best non-native Spanish speakers I've personally heard. However, you do make a few mistakes. I'm still able to perfectly understand what you mean whenever you speak. And you're able to get your point across every time without an issue. But still, these mistakes are still mistakes, and I believe using the terms "Hispanohablante" or "fluent Spanish speaker" to refer to yourself can be a bit misleading to your audience. Since they might just assume your Spanish is perfect or near-perfect. And this could potentially harm your audience's learning. I believe using the term "near-native level Spanish speaker" would be better. Here's a few areas where I believe you could improve in and try to focus on: - Adverbs: For example, in this video, you translated the word literally as "literal". Try to remember that adverbs meant to describe the way you perform an action in Spanish tend to end with -mente. (In this case it was describing the way in which you were close to the answer) So the translation of "literally" would be "literalmente". "Literal" is a noun. - Inflection. So, you tend to misuse inflections.. For example the demostrative pronoun "esto" changes depending on the noun it's referring to. You seem to default to the male version, but just try to remember that demostrative pronouns (another example would be el; la) change depending on the gender of the noun it's meant to be connected to. - Slang. You seem to be combining a ton of slang from a bunch of different countries. Which is fine if that's your goal. But it makes you sound unnatural when you use both "wey" (Mexican slang) and "boludo" (slang in some Southern American countries). - Capitalization. Unlike English, languages are not proper nouns in Spanish. (A diferencia del inglés, los idiomas no son sustantivos propios en español.) To be fair, you don't always make this mistake, you probably just do it sometimes out of habit. Overall, I think you Spanish is AMAZING and you will no doubt become one of the best non-native Spanish speakers in the world with more practice. It makes me really happy to know more people are getting into studying my mother tongue, and seeing people like you make so much progress is truly inspiring. Have a great week, Nate.

And to say "to have", we can say también "tenere". Actually in Neapolitan (a different language spoken in the south) we say "je teng" to say "I have"

@@xano2921 You translated as "es verdadero" because the usual italian idiom is "è vero". However we spaniards say "es cierto" (which also can be said "è certo" in italian) but we don't use "es verdadero" unless we really want to *distinguish* between true/false. In Spanish we also have synonims for that verb: "entender", "comprender", and even "captar". I think that "intuir" or "vislumbrar" add the meaning of "guess" to the word. So I don't really think Italian has more words, we got most of your verbs because of a common parent.

According to the official data, Ukrainian is more similar to Belarusian, Polish (70% of common lexicology), Slovakian (68%). Ukrainian and russian languages have 62% of common lexicology, it's less, but not strange. Because Ukrainian and Belarusian languages came from East Slavic, but the russian did not. Es españa entendemos que mejor el italiano porque tenemos otros idiomas cooficiales también provenientes del latín que usan palabras similares con la misma raíz, y parecidas al italiano. Y el portugués de Portugal también es fácil de entender y de hecho, nos resulta más fácil entenderlo porque tenemos otro idioma cooficial que es mucho más cercano al portugués, como es el gallego, que aunque no lo hablemos todos, es muy común saber palabras conocidas aunque seas de otras provincias
