I used rubber weather stripping for mine. Bought a roll at HD. Pretty cheap purchase for the stripping. Cut with some garage scissors to desired width and length. Since it was rubber, I was able tighten the bolts down and compress those slightly uneven areas. Lock tight with the lock washers ensured no backing out. Cool video! Thanks.

Hey brother what kind of weather stripping did you use? Just got mine I’m getting ready for install! Thanks

Luis Marin I picked some up at Lowe's. I used 1/2 wide I think it was 1/4" thick.

Great video, thanks. Question though. You spoke about the center point where the H bars bolt together was really out of alignment. Mine looks like one of the flat stock pieces that the bolts go through is at an angle. Is that what your referring to?
@wernergarage70783 жыл бұрын
That was part of it, once you tighten the bolts it should line up better, mine did. In general I had to use a rubber mallet to get everything in place then tightening the bolts did the rest. The cages on the cars do have some inconsistencies as well.
@emmatyler13 жыл бұрын
@@wernergarage7078 Thank you for the quick reply. I also noticed that you bolted down all the outer bolts first. Their instructions now say to do the center ones first. Maybe thats part of the problem.
@wernergarage70783 жыл бұрын
@@emmatyler1 that's interesting it didn't say that in the instructions when I got mine. It was pretty early on some hopefully they have made some updates to the instructions!

How are you liking the roof? In the market and this is at the top of my list and there aren't much for reviews
@wernergarage70784 жыл бұрын
nathan2904366 so far so good, I did lower the seats (one of my other videos) to help prevent my head from hitting the H bar but because of the Virus situation I have not had a chance to test it, for the money you can't beat it.
@juicebox8534 жыл бұрын
good video. i would bet the stock cage is very consistent and the H bar is a little wonky
@wernergarage70784 жыл бұрын
juicebox853 maybe but I have tried a couple roof models and with different H bars and the same issue.

What did you use for your spacers to help level out the sides
@wernergarage70782 жыл бұрын
Kyle I used some thick plastic I had lying around. Not sure it'd it's really needed as the roof has settled in and seems to be fine after over 1000i miles since the install. Be sure to check out my most recent video and enter the contest for Superclean.

It's very light will add minimal weight to the car

Not a prototype, no other mods just adding the foam. The holes were just to tight for my liking

Terrell Upshaw I agree, it was just to low and starts to resonate at higher speed. If you watch my modification video, cutting it back a bit worked out perfectly.
@jodytucker44744 жыл бұрын
If you cut too much off the front, glare from your light bar might come into play, just food for thought!!
@wernergarage70784 жыл бұрын
We cut he roof in another video. It ended up working perfect and we definitely kept the light bar glare in consideration. That is one of the reasons I didn't want the "dunner" version of the roof.
