I have both a Casio GA-2100, which cost me $110, and I have a Sanda 6016 (2022 model) which I got for $7. I can honestly say that the $100 difference in price isn't justified, unless you simply want to support Casio. Casio is rad. I love them. They came up with the design. Respect where it's due. However, I have taken the Sanda on vacation, and swam in the ocean with it every day for a week, and it is still perfectly fine. Add that to the fact that the backlight on the Sanda is much cooler looking, and they both have the exact same features as each other, I've opted to put my real G-Shock up for sale.

I’m really impressed by that G-Shock homage. I was already aware of Skmei watches but although their full metal versions looks like great value, it always bothered me the big Skmei writing on it. This one though, I don’t know if because of the negative LCD display or the color, really looked quite a bargain. So much to make me want to buy one. Specially because here in my county (Brazil), those 5600 series costs quite a chunk of money.

4 years ago, I bought one for my wife as a tool watch when she works in the garden, the watch was very very tortured during gardening, once my rabbits took I don't know how the watch and played with it for hours before I found it back ... and even chewed by 2 rabbits, watch still works and the band is still in one piece. It is not as good as a Gshock but the price for this watch is a real bargain.

I have an original CASIO G-SHOCK that costs 130$ with reverse display. I love the watch but its a pain to read in low light and bright light. Reverse displays look cool, but are a bad idea.

I have a Casio G Shock DW 5200 from 1985. I bought two Sanda and I am waiting for them. I want to put parts of the Sanda in the Casio. I'm hoping to give the hero a new life!

The positive display Sanda and Skmei watches are perfectly good watches for the price points. The Skmei watches usually have the countdown function which the Sanda doesn’t have in most cases. Nobody wearing any of these cheaper watches are going to go for a swim deeper than the rated depth of the cheaper watches. If the cheaper watches go bad, it wasn’t a big investment. I think the more expensive Casios are way overrated. If you take care of your Skmei and Sanda watches, they will last a long time. It seems to me the Sanda, Skmei and Scmael watches are all made by the same watch manufacturing town in China!

The only two mess in this good watch - f91w basic module and no original Casio Shock absorbing inner structure. Overall its perfect "G-shock 5600 series" style watch. By the way other "5600 style" SKMEI 1628 already has a countdown timer and dual time mode in its module.

I can say that the one most similar to the G Shock is Sanda. for the gshock dw5600 and some other gshocks don't have auto backlight. and it was very surprising, mine hit many times when opening the fence, and I put the clock wrong so it fell, sanda didn't die

Great video! I own one of the large Sandas like the one you pictured at 2:37. Thanks to your video, I searched for the smaller 'women's' Sanda and purchased the size I wanted! I'm curious though @Shiny Things , do you know if there is a way to turn off the beep between modes? On both models (large and small) it beeps each time I hit the mode button, even if I switch the indicators off on the alarm mode page. I'm not sure if it is bugged like this or if there is some trick to turn it to 'silent mode'. The beep is just a little loud for me. I guess I get a what I pay for, but I'd still like to see if I can mute it.

Ive been checking out Sanda and other brands that copy G--shock and Casio, its insane how they are pretty much the same, I can't justified paying 3-4 times more for pretty much the same thing, I only buy these for style and look, only thing I hate about the Sanda is that it says "Sport Watch" on it, they should just put Sanda or nothing, I find it looks tacky

The Skmei/Sanda backlights are fantastic. Their QC not so much, but Casio isn't that great either. If the chinese brands did some models in better quality, I'd gladly pay $15-20+ for them. They should do their Royale with a steel case, I'd gladly pay $30 for a stainless steel Royale.

I love everything about DW5600 or GWM5610, except for the size. Sanda 2107 fits my 7.5" wrist so much better which is like the 56BB the king Gshock. I don't mind the functionality or the performace, becuase I am not paying the same price, only buying it for basic time. If I needed functionality, I have my phone and my smart watch.

I think the sweet spot for a G-Shock homage would be $60-$80 ... for that price a homage brand should be able to produce a better QC watch with more functions that should compete with G-shock on the price. Not sure that homage exists yet. The difference in QC and functionality was too great here ... as you would expect with the huge price difference.

They might be able to make a high quality watch for that pricepoint, but something like multi band 6/atomic timekeeping wouldn't be possible

For €80 you can buy a shock, a way safer bet. You know it will work for like 10+ years. If your buying a chinese homage watch you don't have that quality assurance. So a homage should be really cheap like this so it don't matter if it stops working in 6 months.

Yes it can. I have a Sanda 293, and used a cotton bud and rubbing alcohol to remove Sports Watch and Water Resist from the black bezel. It looks so much nicer. It's a decent digital watch for the money.
