Huawei already has a working 5G system end to end! Sure you can go a different route by piecing components together from companies all over! But it will cost more... a lot more! And how well will these components work together?! And since Huawei has most of the patents, they get paid either way!

Just the sheer number of graduates in China every year gives an indelible impression that even if the world combine its graduates against China will still thwart in comparison. Therefore, China will continue to dominate in technological innovations and reasonably priced goods that the world needs.

@@galaxyguardian5883 most of the time, but not always. UK is a parliamentary system, meaning the government doesn't always get to do what it wants. Classic example is air strikes on Assad regime in Syria for using chemical weapons. UK government wanted to support the US & Obama, but parliament said no, parliament said strikes would not make things better for Syrians due to all the terrorists. It had the effect of blocking US strikes as Obama was unwilling to take unilateral military action.

Funny enough, the UK and EU have largely been against US's monopoly of the tech industry in the past specifically companies like Microsoft and Intel though there is little they can do about this because of the lack of any tech alternative in Europe and it was largely blindsided.

Looking back at the steady fall of the once mighty Great Britain, one can understand her plight of this diminishing "empire" who still think that history could be leveraged to change its course. With technological changes being absorbed by the developing nations so quickly, the time lag is no longer applicable; in fact at the current rate of development in all sectors, the developing nations are steadily over taking the West in all aspects of comparable technologies. When the nation's GDP is slowly dropping in the international parade, you can't hope to influence the rest of the world just by propaganda!

Huawei started in 2005 when they upgraded British Telecom network. So in 15 years its not a security threat and now it is? We have all the programs and tools that sniffs networks and know where packets are destined to be headed. I considered British Intelligence to be top notch but if for 15 years they didn't notice that threat then they should be ashamed of themselves it took them that long.

Maybe a documentary on what happened to Toshiba will be good. Japan is still a very cash based with an aging society and facing a low birth rate problem. Japan does not easily grant a Japanese citizenship to others to protect her own identity. It will be an uphill task to catch up in the near future. I am glad Japan is doing very well in preserving her culture despite Western influences. Other countries should learn from Japan on how to preserve own culture for future generations.

Would be really funny if Japan outsource the production of their 5G equipment to China.

@@darwinism18 , those are small potatoes companies and not 5g manufacturers. Since Japan did not have 5g, it must contract with either Huawei, Erickson, or Nokia which the 5g equipments are produced in China.

Q: Can anyone fill the Huawei void? A: It be a company none discussed here in the discussion, Jio from India with low cost solution with a complete end to end home grown solution from scratch. With all components self made.. They already got 400mil+ new 4g customers in last 4 years. Also happens to be the cheapest 4G in the world with a large margin.

According to news, Huawei is number one tech for 5G and none can replace it. Very well. Ttry if there is any other alternative. Even new alternattive choice is a bit less technique, new ideas may emerge out . Solving such problems with integrated approach by combining tech of different nations other than China, a superior and more versatile tech may emerge out. What is the hurry.

So US is the same as China which is described as totalitarian or dictator by west?Where is the superiority now?US could ban Huawei ,but why they threat their allies to ban Huawei?Another fact is that US is moving to ban Tiktok! Google is banned because they don’t place server in China,What is the proof they have to Ban Huawei? It is nothing to do with Huawei and Google ,it is just competition and geopolitics.Democracy and free market is already a laughingstock now because it is a tool to contain and oppress other nations
