After conquering the battle frontier, ash makes his way to Sinnoh for another championship. Like all of the previous ones, however, ash does not win. So I wanted to play through an ASH version of Pokémon platinum to see if he could have won with his sinnoh Pokémon.

Awesome video, my favourite of Ash's Sinnoh Pokemon is also Infernape, he had such a tough backstory with Paul but he eventually grew strong enough to defeat him as an absolute beast, one of my favourite battles in the anime, great job Joe!

Paul really shot himself in the foot abandoning Chimchar. And that was after forcing him to battle without properly resting (going against Nurse Joy’s advice) and forcing him to battle a Zangoose (a Pokémon that traumatized Chimchar). On top of that, he gave up on Chimchar mid-battle despite the fact that he caused the situation to happen. And despite thousands of people watching the battle, he never got so much as a boo let alone extreme hatred from the crowds. Yeah, Paul really didn’t deserve Chimchar.

Scyther with eviolite is best bug. Got technician, I like the moves bug bite berry steal, and ariel ace boosted power never miss, tailwind use b4 switching out, and roost/something else Goes well with a stall like toxic gliscor and late sweep iron fist infernape empoleon for a off start and maybe ttar for extra tankiness

Love this series! Really curious what you plan to do with Unova, since Ash's Journey is so different from the games in that region. I wish there was a way to modify Black and White 2 to start in Nuvema Town, but thats way too much work for this series in my opinion. Can probably get away with just swapping out Iris for Roxie at the end of White or something like that. Although, that might mess up the earlier story events with Iris. Curious how you'll handle it! Also, side note, there is a hack of Pokémon X called Pokémon Ash Z, and it changes Gym Leader Teams and catch locations to help build Ash's team. I even think the Champion is changed to Alain in that one. So I recommend looking into that one when you finally get to Kalos.

Yeah I'm not sure. I haven't begun looking at gen 5 rom hacking, but I understand its very different from Gen 4, so I have no idea how difficult things like that might be. That's a really good tip about Kalos though, I'll have to keep it in mind.

Dawn's rival Ursula used her Gabite in every on-screen contest she competed in, making Gabite her ace. And Cynthia's Garchomp is Cynthia's ace for many reasons after all, so Ash's Gible was in a bit of a odd spot with how it could be written in Sinnoh League Victors. All Gible was is a late-game powerhouse with a uncontrolable Draco Meteor that had a gimmick with always hitting Piplup… Until it miraculously mastered it against Conway in the third round of the Sinnoh League, knocking out his Shuckle and Dusknoir.

So… is white next? I only say that cause that’s the game ya fight iris, and cilan if Oshawott is replaced with Pikachu. Then again white 2 had Roxie, but like she was the last gym leader in the anime, which made less sense. And Hilbert already looks a LOT like ash. Unova is certainly a hard one for me to predict.

Of course Ash could beat Cynthia; he had a better shot than most players since he had TWO fully evolved Sinnoh starters, Gliscor and Staraptor. The ONLY Pokémon holding him back (stat-wise) were Buizel, Pikachu and Gible.

You almost lost to Crasher Wake while Ash didn't lose a single Pokémon in that gym battle. Anime Ash managed to surpass Nuzlocke Joe at least once, which was very surprising. Edit: It happened with Fantina too.
