Correction: CIPS is quite small compared to UPI in terms of volume. Today 4% of global Internet payment transactions are conducted via UPI. UPI has recently been adopted in Singapore, Thailand, UAE, and 10 other countries. It's interesting to explore CIPS vs. UPI vs. SWIFT (Basically China vs. India vs. West) SWIFT is slower and more expensive for transactions. On the other hand, UPI is faster and less expensive than CIPS and SWIFT. At the end of the day, BRICS+ should adopt a cross-border payment system that offers lower cost of transactions, higher speed, more reliable infrastructure, and data security. UPI wins over SWIFT and CIPS.

Either India or China alone has more people than the entire West! Your days are numbered. The world can now be divided neatly into two camps: a US-dominated Western camp who DO NOT believe in sovereignty, who thinks they have the right to meddle in the internal affairs of all other states, and decide what values, political systems and economic systems other nations are allowed to practice. On the other side stand the 7 billion people of the rest of the world who DO believe in sovereignty as the cornerstone of international relations. These 7 billion people accept that we are diverse civilisations, with diverse values, religions, methods of governance, and that no country has any right to impose anything on anyone else. In this global struggle, we will win and you will lose! There are more of us than there are of you. There may indeed be disagreement between India and China, just as there are disagreement between any two countries. But where India and China both stand in lock step is the non-negotiability of sovereignty and multipolarity. Neither India nor China will EVER allow the West to tell them how they should be governed, what their foreign policy posture should be, who they should trade with, who they should be in alliance with. Western intervenionism is just late-stage Western IMPERIALISM, where the West still hasn't yet accepted that you no longer have any say in the internal affairs of the rest of the world. Western "dominance" is going to end (assuming that it hasn't already ended). Multipolarity, and the return of NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY and NON-INTERFERENCE (rather than Western interventionism) as the cornerstone of international relations is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

Well, nobody outside the Western bloc believe that. The rest of the world are a diverse bloc with completely different values, religions. India would NOT be able to stay aloof. Trust me. China would LOVE to be aloof, and just quietly develop, like it did in the 2000s. It still tries to be aloof, stay out of everyone else's business whenever possible and not comment on what happens in the rest of the world that's obviously not China's business. But this is an impossible dream when you have a Western bloc (orchestrated by the US) that constantly interferes in everyone else's internal affairs. Every few years, the US finds a new country to invade, sanction, crush, because it didn't like its political system or social values or economic policies. The other countries in the US mafia piles in. China had tried to ignore what happened to Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. But this only allows the West to expand its power and influence, at the expense of China's or Russia's or the rest of the world's. Thus, China could no longer be quiet. Hence, SCO and BRICS have taken on new meaning and new importance, China solidified its alliance with Russia, in order to counter the West.

@@MartinMenge US will never tolerate any regional or global power. Doesn't matter if it's india, china, russia, iran or any other country.
India supported and still supports non-alignment movement, the non-alignment can be best materialized by multi-polar world, and that will create not only harmony among countries around the world but also balance of power which will eradicate the oppression of smaller nation by bigger and powerful countries, once this is done, the countries can trade with each other without feeling exploited. So in nutshell, India has not left the ideology that it has championed since its independence since 1947. Also, I think, no two countries are same and they need multiple groups to locate themselves keeping their identity, cultural, religious etc. understanding which may not addressed in a group with big powers which may have their own priority and may choice to ignore the above-mentioned concerns of the weaker country of the group.

Nobody intends to alter Western countries. Non-western countries have right to do things their way amongst themselves, it’s an alternative not dominance. The BRICS are at equal foot, whereas G7 is one boss and six servants (no one in G7 is at the same power position as US, only closer servant such as Japan in comparison to South Korea, UK to Germany). The only problem is West losing its reign on developing countries, much more difficult to exploit developing countries.

Simply stated, if the BRICS-plus objective is to broaden their member nations global influence by trade agreements then I see no reason why that would fail - if member nations are truly invested. The question that has been whispered about in the West is whether or not the BRICS will establish a shared gold backed currency to compete with the U.S dollar dominance. The early answer to that is no. That being the case, The BRICS is just another trade agreement that joins major economies to emerging economies.

23:07 strange how the commentator here failed to connect Lula's speech about the G7 with her previous point about a multi-polar word. Brazil's interest is the same as India on this matter. But it seems that she still thinks of Brazil as a lesser nation that has to get a call from Washington before it's speeches. Lula's previous speeches criticized the dollar and the USA hegemony. Acting as if those comments are an attack on the entire G7 exposed she still sees European countries as vassal states to the US.

they are not democracies, they cannot cooperate, they don't even grasp what is humanity which is basis for respecting other people and cooperation. They are together because they see democratic countries as a threat to their autocratic position and they know democracy is the future and it grows around the world gradually. they are together to form some kind of alliance of axis against west so that they can do something about west together. For example China dreams to get Taiwan but they know USA will defend Taiwan with military, they hope if they grow BRICKS there will be collective force to fight west. Same with India who has territorial disputes and wants to get Pakistan back into India. They do not like that West did not allow Putin to get away with invading Ukraine.

The conflicting interests is not necessarily an Achilles' heel. In recognition that the world is moving towards being more multipolar where there will be growing contradicting interests they could construct a new global governance architecture. Such a rules based order may have much fewer and watered down rules compared to the current one. However, this depends on not a single country seeing itself as plausibly being able to become the single superpower in a new unipolar world.

A multi-polar world is the common aspiration of all BRICS countries. Ending the dominance of the West is also in line with the trend of the world. It is wrong for the Western media to blame it on a world dominated by China, because everyone is based on the foundation of peaceful development. In order to provide a broader road for more developing countries in the world, the Western world led by the United States is committed to restricting the development of developing countries and blocking technology so that they can better harvest the world. Most people in the world have seen I know what the West is doing, so don’t use this as a reason to deal with the BRICS countries. If you want to fight against the BRICS countries, you are not afraid at all. Will the countries that control more than half of the world’s resources and population be afraid of the West? The answer is no, because These countries are all developing countries, and the strongest representatives are basically big countries.
@escorel89 Жыл бұрын
again, the main thing in discussion is not a common currency for all these countries. it is about using their own currencies to trade between each other. why should they use American dollars for trade?
