Completely disagree. Right after Vader dropped his saber, the Blood Raven would grab the saber and disappear. Next time you see that red glow will be in Blood Reven hall of artifacts.

Sollex-Aegis Energy Blade. Inquisitor Einsenhorn had one of these, which was described as "pure energy" when the guard is activated

The only problem is while its reasonable Vader can kill a Squad or 2 of Astartes maybe even a Vetaren Squad there are at least 1,000 of them and have possibly a Chief Librarian that can kill him so yeah he is strong but Astartes have seen worse and are sent to worse intentionaly. (Worse still if the Librarian is a Biomancer as if powerful enough he can theoretically cancel out Vader's abilities completly thanks to the fact he relys on Cells for the Force as explained in the films)

I mean, one of the two is in a way easier to deal with. Sure, the dark gods have been trying to mind rape your for ages, but at least you aren't being consumed by guilt. Like, it's not your fault they exist and you know perfectly well that they are a bunch of shitheads who are attacking you simply because you are their enemy. Vader has to deal with the one thing nothing can shield him from: Himself and the monster he has become and the knowledge that all he ever fought for and all he ever wanted to protect is lost by his own fault. That was honestly bullshit on Major's part, Vader can easily tank lightning through the force but NOT SIDIOUS LIGHTNING. Sidious lightning in cannon can destroy Star Destroyers and intant kill Jedi masters, Windu and Yoda the strongest Jedi had to use a specific force technique to reflect it back at Sidious because is impossible to block (unless you're MaRey Sue) and once you get struck by a fully charge attack you're instantly dead, if anything Vader is durable to lightning.

He got soul sucked, cut in two, got blown up by turbo cannons and still kept on fighting. Conveniently the light saber's power level also fluctuates... I mean, first it can't cut through the ceramite, then ti can cut off the librarian's hand. Didn't know it could do that. And lets face it a Space Marine wouldn't be that weak just cause one of his hearts is punctured. Nice story though, like all fiction, the winner is who the writer wants it to be.

Major kill was being generous as hell to the space marine, it’s been showed many times that dark side users can use the force to do things beyond the primarchs. Like devouring entire planets, lifting star ships, and in Vader’s case lifting tens of thousands of tons. And him making the lightsaber ineffective against ceramite was quite generous. The battle would only last until Vader became enraged and turned the marine into ceramite scrap.

The "Null Aura" might make him slightly uncomfortable around them, as it does to all soul-bearing beings, psychic or otherwise, but considering how much discomfort he's constantly in already... probably not going to be much of a factor. That said, she'd put up more of a fight than any Guardsmen or Sororitas shy of a Living Saint; the extreme training and superior equipment definitely help with battlefield effectiveness.

@Samuel Davidson Vader is a demigod already and one of the strongest around, the lightsaber would cut deeper since the power sword is a bootleg light saber. The Force is superior to the warp in almost every way except versitility and vader is one of the best at that too. Going by feats, besides the special characters, almost all of them fall short of what Vader can do. Vader also has the edge of being an important character while going against a generic psycher. In some ways Vader was even nerfed here, could just turn off the opponents power sword for example while vaders suit is heat resistant enough to block a lightsaber.

I enjoyed the video, but I disagree, everyone forgets that Marines have insanely fast reaction times, "Oh but Jedi/Sith can predict the future!" Yes, to a certain extent. The reason Grievous was so deadly was because he could attack so quickly and powerfully he could simply overwhelm their power. Its said the Obi-Wan (whose said to have been literally the best defensive duelist in Jedi history) was literally the only person able to defeat Grievous. A marine, even a Librarian, would not only have the insane strength advantage but also have a similar, if not higher, reaction speed than Grievous.

if you're going to try and use "Grievous was faster than the force" you probably shouldn't try that against 1 of the 2 people shown to be fast enough to overcome grievous's speed. also, grievous didn't use speed to win, he used hidden arms and windmills. his normal strategy would have him stabbing with his hidden arms as a surprise kill, and this still only worked ~40% of the time. most jedi were fast enough to dodge him, which is why he also had an accompaniment of machineguns to help him.

Actual brute strength only matters to a lightsaber wielder on the rare occasion he's dueling another lightsaber wielder (or someone with a weapon inlaid with a rare alloy that can resist lightsaber blades). In *most* situations, the lightsaber blade will simply shear through whatever is in its way. Furthermore, Vader is shown to be able to use the Force to manipulate incredibly heavy objects (I think even a Star Destroyer in one of the Force Unleashed games?) so it's preeeetty likely that he can just Force Choke an Astartes, if not literally rip them limb from limb, armor and all, with the Force. At the VERY least, lift them and Pull them close enough for a clean beheading with his lightsaber. You might say 'but the Astartes could just shoot him!' to which... Sure, if Vader doesn't rip the gun from his hands with the Force. And possibly the arm right out of the Astartes' shoulder socket. The Force was always strong with Anakin, and falling to the Dark Side has only made him more fearsome, by giving him access to tools that the Jedi would have never used, deeming them too violent. His teacher, Plagueis, was a REMARKABLY powerful wielder of the Force as well, and his natural talent and access to a powerful tutor would only combine with the passage of time to compound his power. While precognition is not shown to be Anakin's strongest area of expertise, he's a fearsome warrior, having fought extensively on behalf of the Republic, and then the Empire. He's got brute strength in spades, but he's not lacking in tactical and strategic brilliance, either. He's smart enough to choose a battlefield that suits him, and to take any advantages he can. I really do think he could take on an Astartes. The real question is, could he take on a whole tactical team of them? Probably not, since they're designed and trained to operate as a small unit, on top of the usual numbers advantage stuff. I think most Astartes are actually at a disadvantage when fighting solo, unless they just outclass their foe that much because augments and power armor.

These two universes might be slightly more comparable if strong force users were able to be effectively cloned, the Empire reigned as long as the Imperium of Man, united against a common enemy(Yuuzan Vong) and incorporated the brutal methods the Imperium uses for effeciency.

Yes, he's way OP, but I think he'd lose eventually. After all, he's still only human.

Ceramite is highly heat resistant so you would likely have to expose space marine armor for more than a few seconds to burn through it. Sure hes probably faster than a bolter shell, but the plasma hits at the speed of light.

A couple problems here: Space marines can't get broken ribs, ever. Their ribcage has been fused together into one solid plate. Space marines can live for thousands of years, meaning even if they don't spend every waking moment practicing melee combat, they still probably have vastly more experience in melee than 50 something year old vader due to the difference in age.

@Samuel Davidson i disagree since vader's skill with the saber is enhanced not by the comparatively short time spent on fighting actual battles but by his natural talent with a blade and force. To put some context on how i see this, it is like when space marines fight against eldar, space marines train, fight and live for a far more short time span than eldar are, yet space marines are almost always on par or just a bit under/over eldar warriors of the same position bracket. While eldar does have centuries at minimum of experience in training and fighting battles, they still are equivalent or just a bit over/under space marines who do the same but have done it for a shorter period of time

Space Marines grow up on a death world, get hypnotherapy and a crash course that kills most of them, then 15-20 years in war zones as scouts before they are a Battle Brother. Your comparing a 50 year old that work in the same job 9-5 to a 20 year old that worked in the same job but had to work 18 hours a day under threat of death. The 20 year old would probably caught up real fast.

A no-named Librarian can enhance his strength to beyond Primarch levels? Angron only barely managed to lift 500 tons in the form of a warhound leg, and he was breaking himself in the process. Meanwhile Vader can lift "thousands of tons". Not to mention lightsabres cut through durasteel spaceship hulls, maybe if the Librarian was wearing terminator armor I could see the sabre not immediately cutting through. For most warp powers Vader doesn't need an explicit counter, all force users generate a passive shield, and vader can boost that if necessary to block more esoteric attacks. The only thing out of his league is timestop I'd say. Also Vader can practically spam force powers compared to the Librarian, he doesn't have to worry about excess exposure to the force the way the librarian does, and he gets extremely good combat precog/spider/danger senses as well, something warp powers do not grant without some kind of deliberate technique or possession. Also why the hell would a rando Librarians warp lightning be stronger than the Sidious's!?

To be fair, when you're slinging airbursting high-ex rounds propelled by a literal rocket... IN FULL AUTO you're gonna hit something. Not to mention the in-built targeting software and such in an Astartes' power armor. Stormtroopers should, by all accounts, be better at accurately shooting than the movies give them credit for, too. They're NOT your average pleb soldier, they're basically special forces. Imagine the top few percent of any given class of Imperial Army soldiers gets cherry-picked and given advanced training, THAT is what a stormtrooper should be. Problem is that they were over-used, and shown to be laughably incompetent because they're usually shown as cannon fodder for main characters who have plot armor and basically have to win so that the story can story.

the start was pretty unbelievable. it should have been something closer to "a small ship full of space marines is flying by in a stormraven, vader uses the force to turn the ship into a marble, the only survivor happens to be a librarian who used the warp to save his own life. " universes are a little weird when you mash them, but Anakin is basically the Starwars equivalent of the Emperor of Mankind, to include the time he fight and defeated 2 gods by himself.

The explosive armor-piercing ammo kills Vader -Vader tries to block with his lightsaber the bolter ammo either explodes anyways or turns to molten metal which melts Vader or split into two very fast big projectiles which both hit Vader and rip him to pieces -Space Marines can dodge directional Force Push or tank it -If Vader uses Force Pull... the Space Marine just runs towards him making him go super fast, slamming into him like a truck, shoots his Bolter and the ammo hits Vader much faster resulting in more damage, one-punch-death, acid spit or hit him with a melee weapon Vader requires his hand to use Force Powers Two ordinary Space Marines can beat Palpatine. One distracts the Sith Lord maybe provoke him into using Force Lightning while the other sneaks behind Palpy and rips him in half! 500 Space Marines would have slaughtered everyone on Geonosis including the Jedi and Clone Army

@@christiandauz3742 that is just wrong man, vader has tanked worse than bolters and moved fast enough/reacted quickly enough to dodge things that move at similar speeds point blank. He far outspeeds space marines and has blocked attacks that disintegrate things instantly with explosions. That's right, this man can react to explosions. And he doesn't need his hands to use the force effectively, that's just stupid logic. Keep in mind his "hands" are mechanical, so he does it all with his mind man. He even pulls a move like this in the og movies, where he is severely below his real counterpart from the comics. He can also instantly crush space marines. With next to no effort, he froze an AT-AT as it was trying to step on him and proceeded to crush it. An AT-AT is over 50 tons by most people's estimations, so the fact he could beat its motion and proceed to crush it like a tin can all with visibly no strain on his part means that he can exert forces of over 70-80 tons on average with no strain. A space marine is dead infront of him and a squad is lucky if he doesn't decide to use force crush on several of their heads the moment fighting begins.

*spoiler* I appreciate your points about Vader's strengths. however, the point about martial skill is not one of them. space marines will commonly live for centuries, in a near-constant state of either training for combat or actively engaging in combat. I wouldn't be surprised if your standard space marine has spent more time just training than Vader has been alive. so ultimately I do disagree with you, I think that the raw physical advantage, and likely superior martial skill would probably be enough for the standard librarian to win most times in a contest against Vader. I can see an argument the other way not being unreasonable, Vader is exceptional. the best of StarWars vs the standard 40k says all you need to know about the difference between the franchises. Vader’s performance during his duel with Obi-wan on the Death Star was actually mainly due to apprehension. He remembers what happened last time they fought and correctly guessed that Kenobi only got deadlier and more precise (just look at how Kenobi killed Maul in only three moves). I don't think there is such a thing as warp experience. I always strongly felt the use of warp energies was more of a hit or miss situation. I mean thats why the Big Emps himself always greatly discouraged its use. Damn even the Eldar who are more psychically senstitive to warp energies rely on runes to channel it in contrast to human psykers who channel it directly. In my opinion, experience doesn't matter when it comes to the use of warp power, there is always a good chance it fucks someone over.

My only thing to say here is that a mariners punch with literally crush a human’s skull. So surely Vader being punched in his chest would have caved his entire upper body in? If it lands, if Vader doesn't use the force to counter it somehow, if its followed up immediately by other deadly attacks then maybe. As is Vader has already been cut to pieces by a fiery laser sword, burned by lava, sealed into a badly designed and irritating life support system that doesn't actually dull any of the agonizing pain he is constantly suffering from. A caved in torso would basically be like one us having heart burn in terms of annoyance it would bring him.

That's true but vader and his suit has survived MASSIVE amounts of physical trauma in canon. You know that feat that majorkill mentioned about vader causally lifting an ATAT with the force. He forgot to mention that the ATAT STOMPED ON VADER BEFORE HE LIFTED IT. He also survived a massive straight fall off a cliff in his very first fight post episode 3 against a hermit jedi master. He was badly damaged after the straight fall but he walked it off and he still fought the jedi master a second time. Honstely this should have been a MUCH CLEANER fight for vader. Majorkill lowballed him HARD. In the jedi fallen order game that's canon, vader held back an ocean. He fought AN OCEAN and won....

Not sure if it got de-canonized when Disney bought out Star Wars, but there was a Force power that could keep a person alive long past when their injuries should have killed them. Downside is that it works through sheer force of hatred for everything, and you tend to be in horrific pain as you use it. Upside is that we're talking about Vader who is both already in constant agony and absolutely hates everyone and everything, most especially himself. He could probably sustain himself long enough to scavenge basic technology to tear apart and then rebuild his life-support systems and cybernetics. He's a brilliant roboticist after all.

The better equipped regiments of the Guard have a superior capability in armored warfare, at least until Juggernauts and AT-TEs get involved. In a single battle between similarly sized units, it'd all come down to who had the better tacticians, who had the home field advantage and superior supply lines, and just who was plain lucky.

Definitely a fun scenario to imagine! Are we talking about any specific Clone Legion? Or just any Clone Legion? I think the 21st Nova Corps would be a good choice if you want a named Clone Legion because of their highly aggressive battle doctrine. The 21st Nova Corps were less brotherly then the other Clones, therefore less distressed by losses. They once mass charged Super Battle Droids and engaged them in hand to hand combat, physically tearing apart the droids so... I guess thats a step towards Glorious Melee Combat. In terms of training the average Clone Veteran can crush a standard Guardsmen, seeing as alot of Guardsmen are just given guns and thrown in "learn as you work style". Clone "Shinys" are probably the same level as a standard Guardsmen. However Clone equipment is very weak to projectile weaponry, so superior training might mean nothing compared to massed fire. And Cadians are a whole other story, their training is comparable to Republic ARC Troopers, except without the simulations and based on live combat. Plus Cadians often get actual Armor instead of the usual gym surplus gear. While the sheer number of Guardsmen in a single system dwarfs the 4 Million Strong entirety of the Clone Army, in terms of standard operations the Clones will have the advantage. A clone legion on average will have around 9000 Troopers with 7000 Supporters, while a Standard Guardsmen Regiment will have around 3000 men (according to the Caiphas Cain Books at least). *Cadians* on the other hand will have around 2500 Shock Troopers at the Least, and average out at 8000 Troopers in a Regiment, then there will often be a few hundred Kasrkin attached to each Regiment. Cadians versus Clones would be quite a diverse battle in a full Legion vs Regiment scenario, seeing as each side will like bring vehicles and specialists. Though the Cadians will have the advantage of autonomy.

Vader has only been at it for 35 years or so by the first film and they said they fight between him and Kenobi was like that because they were both out of practice. Agreed. We’ve already seen several powerful force users duel in the films (the absolute top level canon.) We’ve also seem Anakin his his prime dueling against Kenobi. They are _laughably_ slow compared to Astartes speed and reaction times as described in official 40k lore. A Librarian wouldn’t even need to rely on his psychic powers once he started dueling Vader in close combat. His superior augmentations, training and experience would smack Vader down into the dirt in seconds.

It depends if your talking about legends. In legends they move a lot faster than space marines move. The speed gets a bit silly tbh, Luke has reacted in nano seconds later on in the series, also he can see ships moving near lightspeed in slow motion and can move too fast for other Jedi to see, who can move too fast for normal humans to see. Yeah it gets ridiculous. Vader has some good speed feats as well, not same as Luke just put that there to show how silly it got.

Vader is immensely strong. His cybernetics weakened his mobility and physical connection to the force (inability to cast force lightning) in favour of augmenting his raw strength. Vader's unparalleled ability to gain a power up by pulling on the dark side has enabled him to overcome absurd odds. I think it just depends on how strong you think Vader's rage and hatred is and how much damage he can sustain by pulling on the dark side. Alternatively, how powerful you think the dark side is and what it can achieve during the battle.
