Diets are always trying to burn fat off the body, and do this by speeding up metabolism. This acceleration of metabolism seems counter to longevity. The presentation concluded that efficiency is what we should strive for, not increasing metabolism. Before someone argues that low metabolism is bad, this efficiency idea is a middle way. I truly don’t don’t understand my body. 78 eat once a day a small meal. Yet I have lots of energy, outside most of the time, caring for other people and my farm animals. For entertainment I play my trumpet and write science fiction. Happy, but I don’t understand: how can so much work be done on just a soup or sandwich? (I said or not and). It doesn’t add up. Efficiency. Are there others like me?

Thanks so much for watching the video and sharing your experience! It’s incredible to hear about your active lifestyle, especially at 78, and how you’re able to maintain so much energy with just a small meal each day. Personally, I also feel energetic and fresh when I eat less food and practice intermittent fasting (16 hours of fasting daily), though I haven't tried eating just once a day like you... Your efficient metabolism and energy utilization might have been shaped by years of a healthy lifestyle, or perhaps it's partly due to genetics. And I imagine you also get good sleep at night, which likely plays a big role in keeping your energy levels high?
