For 3-1/2 years, I've been completely fat-adapted thanks to carnivore. I run 100 mi/wk on nose-to-tail ruminants, water, & salt. Speed is not an issue when fat-adapted because with increased speed training, the fat oxidation rate equals that of the glycogen oxidation rate. In fact, I've run three Boston Marathon qualifying times. In November, I'm running a fasted 5x5: five marathons in five days while fasting. BTW, I'm a 62 y.o. LMHR.

I tried carnivore a couple years ago and initially lost weight. My insulin was super low, I think it was below normal range and then I started to gain weight....I wanted to try carnivore again.

Calories, do not matter they are nothing more than a very inaccurate construct. Food volume matters. Food type matters.

@@craigemmerich the point is not in the name it’s in the rate of error tracked over time. At no point did I imply energy didn’t matter, I eluded to the idea that calories are a weak data point compared to volume and type of food in an open system.

@@alysiaandjohnglass of course and that’s why we promote tracking macros. Grams per day of fat, protein and carbs are much more important.
