Can GW teach me to paint a space marine?

I’d also recommend playing killteam or warcry since they are small bands of units. Much easier to get into the hobby then since it’s cheaper and more concise rules!

@@lolzasouruhm179 u can play normal rules and tabletop but with much smaller armys as well to piggyback on this point thats what i did when i started a year ago. people think u have to play with massive armies cause thats all they see on youtube but had lots of fun playing with very small armies with my brother in the beg.

I just got this set myself, also a total newbie. It's a good set and if you keep looking up tips and take it slow it'll come out fine. I've spent 6 hours so far painting 1 termagant but I'm loving it

Underrated channel! Very good and informative video, same for the first part (the actual unboxing). Keep it up! A little disappointed that not all the required colors come in the box but for a starter set it is good. They want to hook you in and sell you the extra paints for the details as a plus.

I actually accidently dropped into this channel and i must say that as for a "new" channel with not much videos it's pretty nice. I bought introductory as well with elite edition from 9th season and bunch of paints today and i can't wait to have fun too. Nice videos man!

Love the video. As an avid painter i love when someone is true to the process, which includes mistakes and brush slips and the whole shabang that comes with painting miniatures in general.

It’s definitely a process and no matter how good someone is there are always moments when the brush touches something it shouldn’t. Sometimes it’s on the model and sometimes it’s your face. Lol. Thanks for the comment

Yeah, Citadel whites/near-whites tend to be chunky and bad. Mini still ended up pretty good though. I think them limiting the paints given helps newer painters (even if it's unintentional). After several years of collecting and painting I have so many paints from so many different brands that when I go to paint a single Skitarii, for example, I'm pulling out so many different paints and then end up getting analysis paralysis as I don't know where I want to start or which order I want to do things rather than just "Paint robe red, paint metal silver, paint wood brown".

I agree. It can definitely be overwhelming when there are so many choices. Airbrush or not, Speedpaint or opaque paints, washes or not. Lots of choices can be difficult but the testing can be great fun too.

Awesome. Painted my first model in 8 or 9 years today. Was never any good at it (Bretonnia was also quit hard I think to paint), but nowadays with some help from KZbin it should be a nice learning experience. Thank you for the inspiration.

I've been painting mini's since GW started, and personally I think you did a great job with the video, and I hope your channel only gets better. Also I agree with you about the primer always best to have a base coat on. 🙏😇🇺🇸

The best thing is you're not REQUIREED to follow that color scheme. So, if your son wanted to make them all purple with orange polka dots, that's totally ok too!

You are right about primer, shouldn't paint without primer the paint can peel off. as for paint tutorials I have some on my channel but my favorite channel is Sorastros painting, Duncan Rhodes is good as well.

I mean GW loves to sell all the extra little up charges so not including anything about primer or other hobby items was a miss in my opinion. Not even a reference to their spray primer or next steps on how to hobby.

when I 1st started to paint, i tossed out the instructions and would dip my brush into the pot then go directly into the model.

Sometimes you just have to YOLO the paint job! Especially if you just need colors on the model to game. I have a friend who just spray bombs everything!

Technically no. Everything to play the 3-4 scenarios is included in the box. My only suggestion would be to find a few better brushes (cheap multi pack will do) and some brush on primer (or spray paint). Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else!
