So very true! I had a friend who had something happen to her and she sought help for it but her insurance would only pay for 12 sessions. After those 12 sessions she started to slip back into depression. A few months later she had a horrible panic attack at work and ended up losing her job because every day she tried to leave to go to work she would have a panic attack. She had tried to fight her insurance and find help but nothing was available that she could afford. She got more depressed and withdrew from everyone. Sadly it didn't end well. We tried to help the best we could and she did spend 3 days in the hospital because of a well check we had done on her because we were afraid she was suicidal. The next well check confirmed our worse fears. She had taken her life :( don't know why the hospital would send her home or why her insurance wouldn't pay for more sessions...I just wonder, if they had and her healing continued, would the outcome have been different? She was getting better until her therapy edded abruptly. Cutting someone off from the help they truly need should be illegal!! Getting help shouldn't have to cost 600$ a month either! Many people who need it and want it can't afford it, and that's sad!

My son has autism, anxiety, depression, Tourette's and OCD. He doesn't like being touched or physically close to anyone. He won't take medication because he reads the package insert that lists all of the side effects and risks, and he thinks he would get every single one of them. What can the "health care" industry do for someone who is afraid to take medication?

I have a phobia and I can't drive on the highway. I will do everything to avoid getting on it for fear I will get stuck on it. When I have tried to desensitize myself by exposing myself to getting on and getting off one exit at a time it is horrible. The sensation that runs through my brain is so overwhelming I feel like I am going to die. I have been like this for 30 years. I have done therapy, group therapy and am even on medication. I wish I could drive on the highway but I just don't think it's going to happen. I wish someone really had the solution for me.

You can't just "overcome" OCD in an instant. It can take years of therapy to even START to help.

I don't know anything about you, but I don't think a disorder as complex as OCD could be "cured" within a day. There are too many aspects.
