Can hypothyroidism change your face?

Can hypothyroidism change the way that you look? Absolutely it can! Here are three ways that low thyroid function can impact your face: 1. The first is through hair loss both on the top of your head and on the later 1/3 of your eyebrows. 2. The second is through generalized facial swelling. A puffy or round face may be a sign that your thyroid is low. 3. Isolated swelling around the eyes. You may also notice swelling specifically around the eyes with or without swelling around your entire face. These symptoms can all be managed by optimizing thyroid function. In other words, they will go away if you are treated appropriately. #thyroidsymptoms #hypothyroidsymptoms #hypothyroidism #lowthyroid #thyroid

@@biriyani3838 the thyroid massage is on KZbin and I did facial massages they have them on KZbin they drain lymph nodes form toxins and reduce swelling . The magnesium spray is because bad thyroid function depletes magnesium more than anything so I spray topical magnesium spray by my neck and body it tingles at first but that’s how u know it’s the real magnesium and it helps with the stress .

@@marlenegold280 i also have hypothyroidism and I take calcium and magnesium pills. Why? Because surgeons took out my thyroid gland due to thyroid cancer and as a consequence of it was that surgeons " touched" sensitive areas around the neck that allowed my body to get calcium from food, but those areas got damaged because of the surgery so I need to take calcium now... maybe that's the same case..

I had the hair loss, eyebrow loss and puffy eyes but I also had an enlarged tongue, puffy lips, double chin and pale complexion due to Hashimotos induced anemia but also, occasionally a 'orange/yellow' skin complexion. But whenever I have gone to get blood tests in the past, they all come back normal. That's the doctors just waiting for it to dip to abnormal so they can push medication. Don't wish that lol, sometimes it's just half of your face is what gets puffier.

Dear Dr Childs, I'd like to know what is the true cause behind this morning swelling of upper eyelid - I understand that it's thyroid related - however, is it directly related to lymphatic system problem, toxins problem, liver problem..? E.g. thyroid related constipation is related to slow metabolism (as I understood from previous videos).

It depends on the cause because other hormone issues like high cortisol can cause it as well.

They make jade rollers which are so so good and reducing that facial puffiness. But for me synthroid never did much to help with the weird symptoms and I had to switch meds. I also saw a dietician they're pretty good to help with what supplements are gonna help too, highly recommend it .
