Am a cashier in one of the busy hypermarkets in the UAE but I usually say my rosary right at my counter everyday. I usually keep a pen and a piece of paper near me and draw a small circle for every Hail Mary I finish so that I don't loose track😂. I can not use my Rosary at the counter so that's what i do.

I pray for five minutes every day before going to work. I have a dedicated space in my bedroom. I close the door and shut out the world. There is a prayer to St. Joseph on the wall I read and then I freestyle whatever is on my heart. I often thank God for all the good things in my life. It is the time given to God before going about the hectic day. When feeling brokenhearted or overwhelmed I read Isiah 61. As a drug and alcohol counselor it is very important to have this time to help me navigate a challenging job as a person of faith.

I'm retired on disability and have a hard time finding a time to pray 🙏. There's just always something going on. Whether it's my beloved Labrador (God love my big boy)needing out or my wife texting (cancer took my larynx, I can't speak anymore so we text a lot) or this phone beeping. I can't turn the phone off because I use the accention and the hallow prayer apps. This would be impossible for younger working people but I found my best time to pray 🙏 is between midnight and 5am. I like to light a candle, burn some church incense, turn the lights off and that's how I talk to God 😊😊😊

This is very good! This is one thing I'm trying to work harder on this year. As a busy mom of 7 kids ages 7 and under, most of my prayers are the "God, please help!", meal prayers, etc. I found the whole video fun, applicable and helpful👍🏼

( sorry, I'm learning english) Thank you Nell O'Leary, I am unemploy and I have a lot of time to pray. I advise to pray for the souls of purgatory (especially this prayer : ETERNAL rest grant unto him/her (them), O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him/her (them). May he/she (they) rest in peace. Amen.) who are often forgotten.

I put on my headphones in my study and pray the Angelus and St Michael prayer every morning, and I pray Compline with the Monks of Glenstal Abbey every night before bed. I have ADD so I find prayer difficult, because my mind flips around too much. But with online guides like this I am able to really pray with conviction. I also pray while I walk my dog, because that's a time of tranquility that I find great for just praising God and being thankful. Love that "Nad, nada, nada" idea from St John of the Cross. Thank you. Great vid.

Most of the time my prayers are not always in a quiet and serene spot, although I take God on my daily journey helping me make decisions throughout my day or praising him for each blessing I encounter. It still is not as fulfilling an experience as truly experiencing his present when saying the rosary. I see then who I truly am and where I come from and where I'm going. It's like walking for hours in the hot sun to be reward with a glass of cool water.

Can any Christian explain to me the sense of praying? Let´s say a billion Christians combined in prayer pray that a starving child in Africa will not starve to death. Is that more effective than me giving the child a sandwich? And if not, don´t you think you are wasting your time? And the second thing is, doesn´t god have a divine plan? And when his great plan is to give aids and ebola to a starving child who are you to ask him to change his divine plan? What do you say to the fact that all scientific studies show that prayer has no effect?
@paulinaoosthuizen10 ай бұрын
You're totally spot on about the Divine Will of God. But the reason we pray is because the Bible commands us to, for it is the Word of God. Also, when we pray - we pray according to his Will, not our own will. We don't pray for what we want/need, etc. God knows our hearts and he knows what we need. "May your Will, Heavenly Father, be done on Earth." If you pray for things for yourself - that's asking in vain, thus asking amiss.

god is merciful and countless times in the old testament he hear his people and change his mind of punishing them. AND MARY OF FATIMA, look it up it has million witness around the world and it ended the WW1 so much faster We pray to thank, ask for favors, and pray for others. The last one is extremely important as well cause u aint gonna get prased or money when u pray for other, you SACRIFICE your time for other well being and for that is the thing god loves the most. "When you help the least of these brother, You did it to me jesus". But that doesnt mean you can just pray and not cooperate with god in ur life, eg: keep wasting food, too selfish to help the poor. we must do our part as well in order to change the world. think of it as prayer = spiritual + human work= practical cooperation And yes we are a spiritual being with soul, not everything need to be scientifically explain, thats why we need faith. John 20:29 “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Just like the eucharist have scientific prove to be real flesh of jesus christ, when these happen it is from god mercy that he allow his to see when he doesnt have to prove anything to us.

You don’t command God, he commands you. When we pray, are we truly lifting our hearts to Almighty God or are we looking to “get what we want”? If we really trust in His will, we should be satisfied with whatever answer we receive. Our frustration arises when we think that we know better than God. We decide how our prayers should be answered and are not pleased when the Lord’s answer may differ from ours. While Jesus does promise that we will receive an answer when we ask (Mt 7:8), He doesn’t promise that we will get what we ask for…Instead, He promises that we will get what we need . Jesus assures us of this when He states, “Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asks for a fish? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask Him.” (Mt 7:9-11) Still not convinced? Scripture gives us a very clear explanation for why we may not get what we request, “You ask but do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” (James 4:3) We could save ourselves a lot of aggravation by accepting this advice and seeking to discern God’s will for our lives.(from Catholic answers)
