Merlin isn't casting Maelstrom. He's casting High Maelstrom which does four times the damage. Since you're not the guy that learned up King Arthur, you don't get High Maelstrom.

Maisters seem to get enhanced versions of their skills, or at least have stats so juiced that it looks that way. The Mage Maister, for example, can cast Celestial Paean without losing all her stamina and passing out at the end. So either she has a special version of the spell that doesn't do that, or she has such an absurd amount of stamina that the game literally cannot take it all.

Just a heads up for next time: You can use Warfarer to farm discipline for every class and you'll level up very quickly for ranks 1-5. By 6, it'll take too long to do it that way, but it's a great way of farming vocations for the early levels.

Well even the warfarer class itself levels slower and when you reach rank 9 the other classes reach 4 so it isn't that effective for farming

If someone else hasn't mentioned it, the maister's maelstrom ability is turbo busted to the point where it one shots everything I think. I remember seeing someone bringing the maister to the dragon fight and him one shotting that too.

Same. Itsuno was right on the money when he said it's essentially an isekai simulator where you create your own unique advanture. So damn addictive. Dragon age for incredible writing, characters and romances etc. Dragon's Dogma for unparalleled gameplay and adventure.

Just a slight aside btw, the Bane Archstaff isn't the best one in the game (pre postgame) the best is actually the lion-lords Archistaff you can buy from the sacred arbor =) Has a fairly significant power upgrade especially when fully enchanted =)

Awesome video! You left out my favorite one shot tactic though. Switch to warfarer and use a magick bow and the strongest archistaff available. Cast augural flair on any enemy, then land a fully charged saggitate arrow directly on the flair. It literally one shots every enemy in the game. I've killed the sphinx and every type of dragon in one shot this way. You have to quickly land at least 2 of the bows regular shots on the flair immediately after it lands otherwise it will disappear before you can fully charge saggitate but it's easy once you get the rhythm down.

You should use the damage numbers and show HP mod for doing tests. There are a lot of mechanics the game doesn't tell you about, Archer is full of them, which is why people think the vocation it's either trash or broken.

from my last playthrough i can tell you that the Archmage Combo of the Delayed Bomb plus Lifesucker is really damn strong the bomb counts hits taken not dmg i think and u place it and then suck on enemies very nice vs flying foes where i usually always had problems in my first run.

Passively reaching the sphinx is pain, oh boy do I know that oh do I fucking know that, cause I made the mistake of doing it twice at very low hp and so you know for future use if Medusa is asleep even a light attack from daggers will cut her head lastly the sorcerrer master has a unique version of maelstrom that just kills anything in 1 hit regardless of what it is

I can’t really think of someone else off the top of my head but you can easily use the spell you killed the Minotaur with on another enemy that doesn’t use magic. Maelstrom can be used on some of those easier bosses so if you can find a way to swap some of these kills around it should be completely possible

You can hold a augural flare inside of a high spellhold, manually cast one.... fire off the second one and THEN use your dagger strategy to detonate not 1, but both flares.... the first one will go off first and those explosions will also charge the SECOND one aswell. With this strategy i think you could of saved your unmaking arrow.

Did they fix ring of recompense ? When the game was released I tested it extensively and didn't do any extra damage. Ring of Brawn has the biggest dmg buff below 10kg equipload and it does stack with 2 rings.

The ring might have never been broken it just doesn't show the increase in strength for some reason.

@@biscuitsticks3274 None of the buffs show up in the status screen (e.g. brawn) but you can just test it using the dmg number mod (can't remember the exact name), it's what i did. thew+dynamisn don't affect brawn performance. I'm gonna get the mod and test the recompense ring again.

This ain't an MMORPG. And technically you have to grind the Wyrms Blood Crystals to buy the gear, unless you only want to purchase 1 or 2 weapons.

Anyway, where in my sentence did you extract my thought that a MMORPG is the most common place to grind in a game ? That was simply an example of one of the genres you will find "grinding" to be a big part of the gameplay. That just shows you know "fuck all" about me, and can't assume things properly. Not in this case, at least. If you're on an assuming trip here, you shouldn't be trying to argue or give examples of absolutely useless information. Everything in any game is a grind, depending on an individuals perspective, and the fact you thought you had to explain that some things have grinding in them just tells me you don't think very far. And to finish, both of the Dragon's Dogma games are extremely easy and do not "require" any grinding to beat. Although i do agree DD2 is easier.
