Radagon left Rennala to be with Marika, leaving Rennala in the broken state she's found in in-game. Naturally, this means Rennala hates Marika, so she destroyed all of the stakes of Marika in the academy. Not really relevant to the video, but a cool piece of lore that ties into world design that I like sharing. Great job with the video, as always 👍

34:15 The apostle in the divine tower was actually the very first godskin I encountered. Since I played completely blind on my first playthrough, I actually had no clue how to enter the hidden part of volcano manor before looking it up. That really made me like apostle a lot more, especially since that was one of the boss against which I was initially underleveled and that I regularly tried refighting again and again after doing some other things.

1:09:43 About the summon thing I have an idea about that. There are multiple different types of summons, some seem to be illusory copies that don't get status effects, some are mimics, and others are actual summons like Margit. In the introductory Cutscene for margit you can actually see the summon sign that summons him, which is pretty similar to the ones we use to summon friends, and friends can also get status effects applied. The other one that you see most bosses that are summons/clones have seem to be duplicates of that boss from a long time ago, considering Loretta is weaker, godfrey's axe isn't busted, and mohg isn't a lord of blood. And these duplicates are made entirely from magic and not bound to the original, hence why you can kill the original and the duplicate remains. Also margit is noticeably weaker because his actual body is a very long way away from the summon sign, and that's why the second time he invades he is stronger. Which is different to us because we are usually very close to our signs Anyways that's my weird theory about it all.

Only early game enemies have like 3x HP on NG+7 compared to their NG counter part, while late game enemies have 1.5x to 2x ish HP while defence remains constant.

The Serpentbone katana is a favorite of mine. It's heavy attack hits twice, meaning it applies poison twice, counts towards talismans like winged insignia multiple times, and charging it does poise damage on par with collosal weapons. The lethal poison does its damage faster, it's moveset is good, and it's AoW is quite competent. All in all a fun weapon

I agree with everything except the poise damage. It's good for such a fast weapon because you can often sneak in charged R2 attacks where you wouldn't be able to with a collosal weapon, but it's most definitely not on par with greatswords and hammers when it comes to the amount of poise damage it deals (of course on NG+7 breaking stances takes a lot more, like 70% or something)

btw the whole "poise damage on par with collosal weapons" isn't because of it's unique R2, all katana R2s do the same amount of total poise damage. It's just that everything straight sword sized or larger does similar poise damage on their charged R2s (2h ss and katana charged R2s does 33 poise damage, 2h UGS charge R2 does 39.6)

In any case I'll bow to your experience, you'd know better than me. I don't have too much playtime with the collosal weapons.

I think the big thing with Godrick is he is practically a tutorial boss. While Margit was a wall to beat your head against, Godrick is good for practice in baiting attacks and reading attacks one can also take the Lore interpretation that he's a runt of a Demigod and probably isn't a good warrior

Margit isn't an illusion of Morgott. He's just another identity that Morgott adopted in order to travel the lands between without A) The king showing up in places the king shouldn't be and probably causing some drama or actions of grandeur being in the presence of a king would usually stir, and B) exposing the fact that the king had the omen curse. When you fight Margit you are actually fighting Morgott, he's just not going all out because he's just testing you. The only illusions are Goldfrey, Manor Loretta, and Sewer Mohg. Which explains why they are immune to status affects.

The thing about margit is that his copy may be just a weaker form of magic than his brother but also his copies seem to be transmutations like with the larval tear as evidence by the one in lleyndel so it could be a physical copy and not a magical one.

I'm watching this and I realized that playing with no summons seems to make one specific thing easier. Without summons you are able to stay at the right distance to make the AI somewhat predictable. While having a summon you now have a more unpredictable AI due to the summon being at a kinda random or at least uncontrollable distance.

About beating Rhykard with anything other than the Serpent Hunter or a ranged option: on earlier patches you could stand in his lava and properly attack him, i don't know exactly with which patch that was changed but currently the lava around him has a forced stagger that ignores any poise and hyperarmor. So unless you can attack between the roughly 2 sec cycle between these forced staggers (and are able to outheal/sustain the permanent damage ticks) it's nearly impossible to kill him with actual melee now.

26:48 No no no what you do here for optimal status is, since you're in an advanced new game cycle, have two venemous fangs, one in your left poison infused as you have now, the other with whatever else so long as you can apply rot grease to it, if you're really try-harding you can then tactically activate the built-up rot with Rotten Breath, Ekzykes's Decay, or Scarlet Aeonia to have the optimal poison, deadly poison, deadly rot combo.
