It's strange to consider but yeah unequiping yourself so you don't get weighed down makes the early game a lot easier. Maddening is just not a very well thought out difficulty and it's so strange how the difficulty of the game works on it.

@@pinkmellyy I like how it gives enemies skills and adds more enemies to maps. Plus moving bosses can really change how you have to approach some maps. But the inflated enemy stats, especially hp and AS, and ambush spawns just ruin it for me...

to be honest, i didn’t find this as interesting as i thought it would be because there weren’t really many limitations and it was hard to watch when it felt way too negative. i was having a fun time, even if someone dislikes the game i don’t mind, but then i started to feel uneasy watching cause the negativity felt a little overwhelming like to an unbearable degree. it wasn’t like “fun challenge!” vibes it just felt like complaining the whole time, which made me question the entire time why you even made the video if you hated doing it and hated this game so much. it didn’t help that there was cheating and very low effort/care generally. and the title being “fists only” had me expecting actual fists only but you used gauntlets, i was watching with my girlfriend and the very first thing i said before clicking was “if this is using gauntlets, it’s 1000% possible” so i was hoping for fists. just my feedback, just take it into consideration if possible. i don’t mean ill intent.

@@MeliariMelody 100% valid honestly. Honestly a bit surprised it took this long to have a negative comment but I do wanna take something out of it so. If I’m being completely honest, challenge runs are not my thing, they’re kinda just a convenient way to make content on things. And also for most games putting more limitations on yourself doesn’t really make it more interesting or fun, even if you like the game. Three Houses in particular would’ve just been a Dimitri solo regardless if I had to just use unarmed or couldn’t warp. About the negativity yeah I think that’s really fair. My comedy is intrinsically sarcastic and sometimes it just doesn’t come across that way. Most of the time it is just exaggeration for the sake of comedy. (I don’t actually think Three Houses is bad or anything just has some small problems that some people care about more than others) I definitely feel a little hurt that it doesn’t come across that I’m having fun because I totally am. In fact this is probably the video I had the most fun making but maybe in the future I can show that a little better. The lower effort feel and cheating mostly comes down to me just wanting to play the game tbh. Three Houses is just a special case in the series and due to how short many of the later maps were I didn’t want to waste several hours (that I wouldn’t include in the video anyways) just to make it a bit more legit especially when I can make a stupid joke out of it. I honestly kinda just hate the name gauntlets tbh. The thought process of this challenge was legitimately just me seeing the animation and wanting to punch people the whole game. I probably could’ve said it at the end of the video like some others do but it never really was about if it was possible. There’s a reason I changed the titles from “Can you” to “Can I” after my first challenge video. But even then my laziness might’ve been a bit overtuned I did have save files for like every chapter. If you’ve read this whole comment don’t feel offended that most of this doesn’t feel like a reply to you and more at you as I think I might’ve needed just a written response for my justification of this video lol. I’ll definitely try to keep improving my content in the future so that stuff like this happens less and less. As a growing youtuber myself, criticism is the best thing someone can have, assuming it isn’t like just hate (like someone making fun of someone’s voice or something.) The reason i felt the need to comment this was purely because you are small and starting out, as i looked on your page after, and it’d be best to take an understanding as to what can help make potential content in the future like this more enjoyable. my favorite example would be a video i loved that was playing three houses without committing a single war crime. from what i remember, the youtuber didn’t like three houses prior to the run either, but the seriousness and research went into the video made it very enjoyable, as it felt fun to see someone joke with the concept and go all out. It’s always okay to be opinionated, but just a tip. if someone is clicking on a three houses video, probability is, they are a fan. it’d be more enjoyable for a serious approach, you don’t have to copy everyone else, moreso i guess space out when you should incorporate your sarcasm and also i guess it make more sense as that? i couldn’t really catch onto it being sarcastic when there was some kind of hit at the game every few seconds even going on to show a part where you showed in your script how much you hated the game. from your perspective, wouldn’t it be more fun to watch a video where the person’s opinion of the game is put away for the sake of the challenge, so the challenge itself is taken more seriously? to me anyway, that’s what can make challenge runs fun. and also as for how you mentioned since this was three houses, dimitri would always solo anyway, that’s why limitations are so interesting in other videos! wouldn’t it be so much more entertaining and challenging to limit stat boosts on characters and force yourself to use someone such as ashe or so on? it *is* your video, those are just recommendations from what i know of this genre of youtube, you can always find your own niche and i might even tune in again, just hoping for more fun! thank you and i apologize if it’s too much.

​@@MeliariMelody Oh yeah that's 100% reasonable. I won't try to lie or weasel my way out but I did at least partially anticipate that many people watching it would be fans of Three Houses. I definitely have a lot of regrets about the latter portion of the video as I think I actually did genuinely start to enjoy parts like the story but I tend to be pretty stubborn and not admit when I was wrong (even in my own scripts I guess) and definitely rushed it a bit. I think as a person I definitely either undershare or overshare and can't quite get the balance right and I wouldn't be surprised if that keeps showing in my videos even though I am going to at least attempt to make it better in the future. The jabbing at the game wasn't made out of malicious intent at least I don't believe in my heart it was. Even games I love I love poking fun at all the time and I think it might just be better to space it out a bit as some of it was a bit unnecessary. About more limitations, I had initially thought putting any more limitations on myself would've been too far but I was vastly surprised with how many people overestimate maddening. It was not nearly bad as I thought it would be (maybe because I'm just used to hard fire emblem at this point) and adding more limitations would be fun. Despite my 2 challenge runs on this channel showing otherwise, I'm actually a big fan of using intentionally bad units but most of the time it's because I've granted myself leniency that I think I just didn't on this challenge. Doing more research on the games I play would help if they're considered "hard". Please don't worry about it being too much! I might not have felt the same way a bit ago, but I know that sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and take some criticism. Probably more so for me as this is the first real creative work I'm actually putting time into lol. I hope you do stick around a bit if you want to as I definitely aim to keep improving my work! Seriously, thank you for this critique I really would rather someone said something if things can be improved.

I think it is great that people criticize the overrated mess of a storyline that is TH. It helps broaden the horizons and take a look at the game from a new perspective (the actual story structure was trash, the characters were ok, but didn't have much of impact on the storyline aside from Dimitri, avatar worship, rushed part 2, repetative and tedious part 1 etc.). It is great to take criticism, but honestly I really enjoyed the video and jabs at the game. Great content, keep it up!

I'm only about 10 minutes into the video, so I don't know all the characters you recruit or use later, but I'm gonna say that Bernadetta is probably my favorite fist user in the game. I know she has a bane in gauntlets, but infinite time negates that. Her personal skill basically puts her on par with the Lords/Byleth, especially in the early game.

Indeed it does! Her personal basically gives her +10 damage with fists on player phase which is pretty good. That and it's just really funny to imagine someone like Bernadetta needing to use her fists to fight lol.

the joke about marianne killing herself and the cereal edit had me ROLLING. this is a very scuffed playthrough considering all the cheating but it made it funnier to me and it does keep the niche open for other people to do more honest fisting runs. (also how well does this game run on Totally Legit Consoles? asking for a friend. that’s not a joke we were actually discussing it. Also also did koei tecmo even work on this game or was it just hopes?)

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, hopefully this will remain the most scuffed playthrough of a game I do here (although it is funny). I'm just glad to be a part of the epic fisting community for this game lmao. This game actually runs really well on uh... totally legit consoles... But uh it is a little unfortunate that both main switch emulators have been taken down although I'm sure you can find them elsewhere lol. I am totally not using a 60 fps patch in this video because the switch runs amazingly and nobody would need to improve it's performance. :) To my knowledge, Koei Tecmo made the vast majority of Three Houses although it is more of a conspiracy as while it is 100% true they worked on the game we don't actually know the true extent of it. Although there is a lot less Intelligent Systems employees in the credits for what that's worth.

Fun video but i had some thoughts. I know another comment below already addressed some criticisms but the main one i had with the video was how much speed up is used especially in the final battle. I dont think we need to see the entire play by play of a 2 hour+ minute map in 10 minutes. It casues the gameplay to be distracting and you have to try really hard to keep up mentally alongside the script when it cuts back in. When you finally made it to Edelgard it became nauseating. I dont need to see Dimitri literally kill every last one of them and the 10+ attempts it took to strategize a victory. The gameplay should compliment the script writing so a quick montage of the Dimitri deaths and notable kills should play alongside you discussing Dimitri progression and how he was killed over and over again. This will better improve your videos and make information rentention easier for the audience because most of the final map's combat is completely unnecessary for viewing unless something significant happens. Most of the video did this well but the final chapter became drawn out for the sake of over explanation. Great video, hope you keep making them and improving

Yeah I definitely have to work on that tbh. I honestly knew it would look like garbage but I kinda just left it in for a variety of factors that I thought made sense at the time but really don't. I definitely lose a lot of motivation for these videos at the end but I think I just forced myself too hard for this video in not enough time. I made the entire script, voiced it, and edited it all in less than 2 weeks and while I think much of it was fine, the last 2 days were pretty bad I won't lie. I just wanted it to be over and use the laziest way to do it when I definitely knew there was ways to make it better, I definitely have to take full credit for that. That said, while I want to critique myself definitely for this, I must say my editing software did not make this any nicer, as if not for it struggling to export the final product, I likely would've had a bit more time to proof watch the video. I also was vibing to Apex of the World a bit too much, I think in the future I might just turn off the music I add while editing so I don't get distracted. Thanks for the comment though! It really does help when I'm made aware how dumb I am sometimes.
